Drillimation Systems is developing a new NES-inspired remake of a game that was originally released on the PC-98 in 1997. This remake will incorporate an online mode. However, we are looking for a GameMaker programmer capable of doing this. Some of the duties of this include:

  • Setting up multiplayer servers to connect clients
  • Integrating gameplay code with server engineering
  • Finding solutions to technical problems
  • Solving problems without peers as network programmers, as well as working with other team members

Requirements for this include:

  • Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in computer science or programming. This isn't mandatory but is recommended. A good background in programming and networking is a must.
  • Good knowledge of the GameMaker engine, including a good background in GML. This includes having completed at least one project in GameMaker Studio.
  • At least two years of experience in the video game industry, including programming.
  • Understanding of network protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
  • Good understanding of mathematics.
  • Not mandatory but recommended: good communication skills in English and Japanese.

Interested parties may reply to this post. They can also reach out to Drillimation on Discord through Driller#1924 or send a DM on Twitter to @Drillimation1. Anyone who completes this job will receive free Steam keys to Chuhou Joutai and Chuhou Joutai 2: Paraided!.

And no pay?

This job is not paid. You are correct.

You cant do multi player i GM, you will need Unity or a very experienced GM dev who can write custom extension for GM. I recommend Unity. Its already baked into their framework. Plus you can support multiple platforms with single click build
