The Brackeys Game Jam 2021.2 started 2 days ago and the theme is "Let there be chaos".

My idea was to make some kind of roguelite - bullet hell game where explosions and flying objects are an important part of the gameplay.

During the first and second day I focused on the basic mechanics, like the player control, the projectiles and collisions, and the enemy AI.

Basic prototyipe

Later, I programmed the enemy spawning, the explosive objects and objects that fly around when hit. I also made the particle effects for the explosions.

The next step is to design levels and upgrade the grphics.

cooool be what is the means of "Let there be chaos"

I was intrigued too when they announced it on the start of the jam! I think that DeianT here is tryng to go for a chaotic bullet hell and explosions cenario. Really difficult stuff to make in a week, i hope he can do it on time ^^

My idea is to always have enemies shooting at you, things exploding and object flying around and hitting stuff, thus causing chaos.

The last day I continued working on the different objects, downloaded some models from the asset store and modified them. There are boxes and rock that when hit, go flying in a random direction and they can also damage enemies and cause barrel to explode.

I started designing the level, which isn't going to be a roguelite, instead it'll be a single room with enemies spawning for waves

Only three days left, but I already have most of the programming and functionality done, so I'm working on building the level and making some animatios. I decided to add a few lights to the scene and I think it loooks pretty good. There's also a dash mechanic that allows the player to move faster for a few moments and some UI elementsto start and restart the game if you lose.

At day 6 my is starting to look decent.  I made some sound effects for when objects are hit or the player is damaged. Also, when the player is damaged, time slows down for a few moments to give you time to think.

Ther is also a new enemy, harder than the regular ones than appeares after a few waves.

I also created some simple models for the player and the enemies and gave them animations for when they're hit.

Less than 24 hours before the jam ends, it's time to fix and polish the details. I have just finished the animations. In a few hours I'll upload my game.

Already submitted my game Infernal Shooting Room

Enemies spawn by waves and you have to kill them by shooting, causing explosions or throwing objects at them.
