Is it okay to recommend other peoples games on my page? :/

I'm just trying to be helpful, because my game always seems to flop after every update. I just want to make sure I'm not breaking any rules by helping others here that I try and help.

Thanks for any replies, I'm just trying to fill the void while things are taking so long to sort out with my game :(

I’m just trying to be helpful, because my game always seems to flop after every update.

I’m not sure I understand this. How is this related to you recommending other people’s games?

In other sites, including details in your game’s page about other games can be seen as trying to get popularity from successful projects, and is often not allowed. I’m not sure how this is applied on Itch.io and if there is a rule against it.

Personally, I would advise against it. If you want to help others, you can post games you recommend to others on Recommend a Game.

Edit: Just re-read the question, you should be able to include information of other games on your profile page without issues. This comment referred to including other games on another game page.

Thanks so much.

I don't know about policy here, but I don't see a problem with talking about your favorite itch.io games on your profile page (I would certainly be happy if anyone mentioned mine!), and also the ability to display your collections on your profile seems suited to that.

Ah, I just re-read the title, and you are right. If OP is reading this, you should be able to add other people’s games in your profile page. In fact there’s functionality to include collections, so I’m sure including other kind of information is also encouraged.

My other comment was about including that kind of information on a game’s page.

Yeah, I wasn't clear on whether we're talking about game or profile pages, also. Certainly we don't want to see people try to manipulate search results to get more views, but I'd love to see developers promote each other's work (even though I don't do enough of that myself), credit other games as inspiration, etc.

Great, how do I add collections? :O I'll check out your games too!

On your profile page, click Edit Theme, then at the bottom of the sidebar you can choose which collections to display and change the order.  The collections have to be marked as public in your library first.
