Convincing Princess Help

I've managed to get the princess captured, and offered to convince her to marry. I've talked with her and she's mostly responding well. I've let her talk to the elf who supported the idea. I've boosted my charm as much as I can manage. Yet no matter what I try, she still claims she cannot agree to marry. Seems to be an endless loop, since every new day I try again and same result. Amelia offers help, but a) don't really want to go that route and b) talking to her doesn't seem to offer any choices.

Is it actually even possible atm to get her to agree? Because it says check against charm, but despite having tried with over 100 charm points I still can't get it to work.

It should be possible, but there might some bug related to it. Did you try it at the latest version?

Yeah, I hadn't played in whilst so downloaded latest version and started new game, so shouldn't be any lingering issues with old versions affecting saves either.

Perhaps you pick wrong answers then. If Aire is on your side, then she gives a nice boost.

Whilst possible, seems unlikely given I was careful with my choices, and have tried several different routes just in case.

Managed to convince Aire to give up location. When she was brought out, said 'honor to meet you', 'let's not jump to conclusions', 'there's no need for violence'. When she caused issue, opposed it and claimed it was barbaric. and sacrificed a follower to save her, since only other option seems to be slapping her earlier, which I can't see being that convincing >.>"

At the prison, tried both greeting her and telling her I was a friend. Told her I wished to save her, tried both 'way to save you' and 'negotiated for pardon' options, mentioned was mayor, said she'd have to marry me (since the other option was basically blackmail, can't see that going over with her too well), said feelings were sincere, said was sorry for loss. Said she'd tried to do what was right, and would be able to help people if didn't die.

Next day let her talk to Aire, who supported it. After that tried just about every route with the options about coming to an agreement that didn't involve insulting her (the one about not caring about her feelings). Made sure both charm and sex factors were at 5.

At this point, I can't see any other route with the options that doesn't involving offending her. If I'm wrong, be glad to know, but it'd be a little odd if I legitimately have to insult her to convince her.

Right now there's one thing which might make persuasion tricky: basically on the second day if you fail your first attempt you no longer get support from aire and bracelet (if you have it). Technically there should only be one attempt but the game right now allows you to repeat it. Also depending on if you try to enslave or marry her it requires different factors (charm for enslave, sex for marry). You can raise them to 6 at the slave market upgrades btw.

Thanks for that, that seems to have been the problem. I always went with the charm options on first repeat of the day, so when I tried the sex options on later days it probably wasn't working out properly. Might just be my writer's mindset, but charming her for love and mentioning sex for slavery made more sense. After all, you'd think you'd have to charm her to convince her to love/marry, whereas if she's just a slave you'd likely be more interested in sex.

Well the checks work similarly if passed.

Was going to leave this thread at that, but just noticed something odd. Whilst was trying to get this sorted, been playing through on my other character that I was playing for different class build. Made all the same choices throughout game, got to same point, yet despite this characters factors all being exactly 4 with exception of physics 5, so much lower ones than original character, managed to succeed at charm.

No differences in choices made, so not quite sure what's going on. There's an issue somewhere, but I don't know if it's in the game code or just a one-off bug somewhere in my original run.

Not really an issue now that I've managed to convince her, but figured it'd be worth mentioning just in case there is something off.

There's a thread nearby which has pretty good detailed walkthrough with all caveats.

My character's charm factor's already four even without upgrading it. Would have thought that'd be enough, but still not working.

May try getting factor to 5 just to see what happens, though the mats for that are a pain in the neck :) Things we do for a princess' love... :D

Updated : Nope, even with factor 5 it's failing. Gotta be something wrong somewhere if you managed it at 4.

With Aire boost on first attempt I managed to get her to agree to marry me with Sex Factor 4, my Charm Factor was level 3 so I did not try that.

So for the Priestess Event I slapped her cause she was too bitchy < maybe this beat some reason into her?

Then I chose that I will make her my Wife

I just thanked Amelia for the tip, you know just to keep opportunities open.

Then the talk goes exactly like this:

1. Recruit

1. Greetings, princess

1. I wish to save you

1. There's a way to save you

1. I'm the next mayor of this city

1. I will ask your hand, but you won't really have the option to refuse me (honesty)

1. My feelings are sincere

1. I'm sorry for your loss, but you have to think of yourself now

1. Continue

1. Continue

1. Continue

1. You've tried to do what you thought was right

1. If anything, you would still be able to help people instead of dying

1. Continue

1. Thanks for the help

1. Sure, this could get her thinking beyond herself < this to involve Aire, I had sex (not rape) with her before so its not perfect gentleman thing

Aire Event:

1. I wish you? (to) reunite you with your friend (Call Aire)

1. Continue

1. Continue

1. Eventually we'll have to come to an agreement

2. I will treat you with dignity < just tested it again that 1st option here will fail you, so this might be it

2. I can't stop imagining you naked

2. We can work on it once things are set out

1. Continue < here she accepted it.

My factors are like this: Phys: 6, Wit: 4, Mag: 5, Charm: 3, Sex: 4

Stats: Phys: 125, Wit 85, Charm 14, Sex 100

Edit: just tested it again with Charm Factor 3

With Aire,

2. I will treat you with dignity < this seems really important, I had her agree to my proposal with Charm Factor Checks with just  level 3

Solved the issue now thanks to developer's suggestion, and thanks to his point, one thing I've noticed is you chose the two sex factor options at end (imagining naked/once things set out), which is apparently the correct route for marriage. But that means your charm won't have mattered in your chosen route, only sex factor.

Actually, I have a question myself, I can't even get the option to say that I want to make her my wife, the only one that appears is the option to enslave her, which I don't want, I can't recall all the choices that I made up until this point, but generally speaking they have been along the lines of sympathetic and or nice.

Marry option is not available if your character is female.

Fair enough, so it is only for male, gotcha.

Currently, its also an option for futa

I don't get the marry option with a futa MC

Might be a bug, will check it

Can concur, I also did not get one for a futa MC, I ended up having to go into my save file with an editor and change my MC gender to male to trigger the flag allowing me to select the option and then changed it back afterwards. I am not 100% myself on this since I don't entirely know coding, but I think the futa gender might be flagged as female at some point in the code as I have noticed that during sex with women with out the bisexual trait they will complain about the character being female, but males without the trait won't make any mention of it themselves.

Maybe change the criteria from gender to presence or absence of a penis. That is, if you still want futas to have the marriage option.
