Updating paid files in a pay what you want game

How can I safely update a paid file? I have to update the file but I am afraid that once I do users who paid for it will have to pay again.  Can I delete the file and add the updated version again? create a new file and give it the same price?

I believe price for individual files is using a “Tier” system. So if someone spends $5 on your project, they will have access to all files with a custom price of $5 or lower. This is why you can’t have individual files with a lower price than that of the project itself (if it’s paid).

This would mean that all future files with the same price (or less) should be available to those users.

I haven’t tried this myself to confirm that’s indeed the case, but I found this information on Itch.io - Pricing.

That's what I believed from reading that particular link as well but in my game if people paid me (using pay what you want) 5$ and then paid 10$ they still can't access the 15$ file... they have to pay 15$ for the file.. So you can imagine my fear of updating the file and upsetting everyone who already paid 15$.
