I would suggest a new sub-forum to “Game Development” called “Promotion” (or “Recommend Games to me”). Because right now General Discussion is 8+ threads that are YouTubers and Twitch streamers[*] asking for developers for games to play[**]. At the same time, to quote the rules of that sub-forum: “SELF PROMOTION: If you’re advertising a game, then don’t post here.”

Recommend a Game and Release Announcements already exist. But there’s no place where one could ask for game recommendations - without asking others to ignore the rules. There clearly is a demand for these kinds of threads. Rather than forcing participants to ignore the rules and looking away there should be a place for them where they can do the same thing without rule violations.

Look, I’m not asking you to legalize weed in General Discussion or anything. Just for a “Smoking Room (smoke what you want)”. ;)
