Awesome game! Fits the theme and overall, an innovative idea. My only criticism is that the rules were completely blank on the WebGL build, just being a blue screen. Moreover, I couldn't figure out what numbers tripped the spikes without trial and error, even though this is more of a minor frustration than an issue.

Hi! To be honest I'm not sure why I named it that regarding the theme of the game. I created SB whilst completing a course to learn to use Unity/C# and I think the name was just an oversight.

All controls use the mouse- click on one of the units with a price underneath to select it (the rest are unavailable for the level) and click on the map to place it down. Hope this helps!

Probably the most polished variant of this game idea I have seen so far! I would recommend that you change the space bar to something like the enter key to restart though, as by instinct I try to jump, and it restarts the level.

The game is really fun! Awesome post processing and presentation as well. The only things I can critique is not using an SVG for the rings and the horrible CRT effect when moving between levels. Apart from that, great work!

A really good idea in premise, but the game had some pretty bad moments as well. Firstly, because your ship movement and enemy rotation is both controlled with the mouse it makes rotating enemies more of a risk than a benefit. This could've been resolved by ship movement being WASD or by time slowing during rotation. Furthermore, on one occasion the ship that I rotated was still shooting downwards, and therefore made rotating completely useless.

Despite the negatives, the idea and overall look of the game is really good! Well done!

The stars give you 1 score when you walk over them (or more if you already have a high score) :)

Oh God I really wish I did that now- thanks for the advice!

That is the most beautiful game a have seen in ages- wow

Do you want to be accredited, since you got into the top 3 (excluding myself) in my game's credits?

That boss is really divisive: some find it too easy, some too hard. If I made the boss again I would have made the bullets less intelligent and gave a visual key for when you can shoot.

Thanks!

Wow- just wow... Such an amazing story. And the emotions...

Props for making the game with so many limitations, and the code is still fairly semantic.

Haha, I the game is heavily inspired by the poem "Poppies", and I just inserted it into the novella. The bomb disposal was a last-minute touch, so I had some gameplay.

Norton flagged the game- can't play it.

Controls are a little janky, but really fun, and nothing like any other submission!

It was :D

Statistically only 1/4 of participants follow through on jams: let's try to get that higher!

Thanks for the advice! Sadly, we only had 2 hours to spare at the end of the jam, which made it near impossible to make it any more fleshed out, like adding advanced enemies (even though I planned it). Also, yep- the boss is that easy: for a game jam making a boss too difficult could result in your reviewer quitting prematurely, so I made sure that it was easily beatable.

I'm not sure if my game-dev partner will continue this exact theme, but I'm planning on my eventual genuine Metroidvania game being set in the human body.

Thanks for playing :D

Hey; thanks for the rating! Rated your game as well.

Yeah- the boss is really hard: personally, I wait until it is at the bottom of the map, and then pummel it with 60 bullets, insta-killing it. The rest of the time is just survival.

Thanks for playing my game!

Really fun! A bit short on content for my liking, but the polish is astounding. I really like how the platform freed me when I got stuck underneath it.

Thanks for the advice, and thanks for playing my game!

Thank you :)

Hi, hit the nail on the head when it comes to the environment and polish! Just a shame that I couldn't think of anything better than angry amalgamates- maybe Undertale was in my head at the time?

Hi! In the bottom left corner, there is a health gage that'll tell you how many more hits you can take. The game is intentionally illinear, so look around and find some stuff to progress! :)

Wow- the artwork... the relation to the theme... it's all there! 4.6/5 stars!

Great concept with a banging soundtrack! Just a shame that the game is cripplingly hard and it is so easy to walk out of camera shot.

Nice little shooter- great artwork, and fits the theme nicely. A bit ordinary, though.

I don't see how the game is related to joined together? I didn't get far before bugging out, so I might have not seen how yet, but the fact that this is submitted to multiple jams is a bad sign.

Thanks for playing my game! The game was intentionally confusing, as it is a metroidvania, despite the fact that you always follow the same path. The theming was very light, indeed, but we had no clue what to do for the theme at hand :)

Glad to see you participating!

:D

The fact that it was one button really damaged the game...

In my opinion, the game would've been made so much better if you interpreted the button as something like a shirt button, to free up the controls.

Nice art though!

That was really fun: 5 stars!

Can you elaborate? Is it the lack of sound effects, the unforgiving collider, the messy shaking, the lack of camera movement?

Thanks for playing my game: that was my way of representing carbon monoxide- you needed to plug the battery into the detector next to the fireplace :)
