How does your game fit the theme?
When you approach Critters, you split some control with them, which can be adjusted to help navigate. They essentially join together and move as a unit with the level of control affecting both groups.

Love the art and the music and just the overall vibe. Everything's very cute and the gameplay is crisp and elegant. Great job!!
Thank you so much! Your team's game was super great too!
Once I heard the theme, I knew we were going to get a lot of games where you control two characters at once, a mechanic that I've seen in a lot of games before the jam already. So it's awesome to see this game take those mechanics and expand on them in a way that I've never seen before - you're in control of the speed between the characters you're controlling.
Actually it almost feels like you're given too much control, being able to almost completely stop one character and move the other, with the only limitation being you can't get too far apart (though it makes sense on the final level, where pursuit means you can't just take your time; you have to move both characters at once, but the characters move at different base speeds, so it's not as simple as a problem as leaving the bar in the middle).
I enjoyed the levels that were here, though I'm curious about how these ideas can be expanded further in interesting ways - this game showed me that there's actually more ideas about controlling multiple characters at once than I thought.
Thank you so much! Sorry, I know some of the executions of levels didn't really require using the main mechanic at all. I actually mainly thought of the final level first (but added it last), but as I made the rest of the game I had more trouble thinking of different ways to encourage constantly switching control. I thought about removing the ability to completely control one character over the other, but I thought that might make it frustrating to people who took longer to familiarize themselves with the mechanic or wanted to play it like a traditional character-swapping game.
This was great! I've never played a split control game that played with the strength of splitting like this, and I enjoyed it a lot. Though, I guess I tended to just max out my control one way or the other - or stick to the middle on occasion. Really cool.
Yeah, I had the idea for splitting the strength before thinking of ways that I could use it, so it's pretty easy to just go one way or another. Thanks for trying it though!
Great game, loved the art, the mechanic of each of the Critters have different movement was really cool!
Thank you!
Wow- the artwork... the relation to the theme... it's all there! 4.6/5 stars!
