Hi everyone!!! I'm Witchy.

I am a writer and programmer with years of experience in both. I've only ever finished one VN before, but I learned a whole lot in the process. I can't wait to write another one! I'd very much like to write something queer focused, and potentially 18+. More on that below.

What I bring to the table:

  • Organization and communication
    • I'll be dedicated to the project, consistent on deadlines, and proactive on planning.
  • A love of writing and stories
    • I especially like sci fi and themes of found family.
  • Lots and lots of python experience, including Ren'py
    • I've programed in python professionally, and I'm confident enough in my Ren'py skills to code the whole vn. (Not that help isn't appreciated.)

I'm looking for someone with:

  • Consistent communication and investment in the project
  • Experience in character art
  • Exciting ideas! I want to bring your characters to life <3

I currently have an idea in the works already. I want to write a story about a lowly submarine mechanic who feels trapped. Not just by the creaking hull of the sub, but also by the people she's trapped with. I want to include themes of queerness, found family, and overwork. I would also like to include NSFW elements, but I don't mind tuning the story to what you're comfortable drawing.

If you're interested respond here or feel free to DM me on Discord. My discord is WitchyDrop. Send me some of your work! Bonus points if you have finished projects to share. I'd be happy to take on more than one artist if we can divide up the tasks equitably.

I did most of the writing and programing for Artificial Impotence for the toxic yuri jam a few weeks ago: https://witchydrop.itch.io/artificial-impotence. I'd be happy to send you some of my short stories too!

I just read Puppy Girl Dog Fighting, and I really liked it! The art and atmosphere were gorgeous, and the story felt so tense and so real. Dot's emotions came through beautifully, and I couldn't help but let myself be stuck in her shoes. The feeling of being trapped in a cruel world, the pain of rejection, the daydreaming about what could be. I find myself thinking of those things a lot, and PGDF helped me feel seen in that way. Also, this is definitively the hottest VN I've read so far. The girls look so soft and yet so strong too. I found myself daydreaming along with Dot. I might be biased because my gf is very similar to Onyx. :3

Was "Chain Gang All Stars" an inspiration for this? If not, I think the writer would really enjoy reading it.

Thank you so much for all of the feedback <3

You're right that I explore a lot of ideas without circling back much. I had actually planned to write at least double what ended up into the game... a rookie mistake of over scoping the game lol. On my next game, I'm going to really focus in on one really punchy idea like the one you mentioned.

I'm glad you liked the humor! I feel like it's important to include because reading stories is supposed to be fun! It even makes the horror hit harder in my opinion.

Thank you thank you thank you so much for giving me such detailed feedback. Like genuinely, this is incredibly helpful. I hope to make another game sometime really soon :3

Yay! I'm glad you liked that scene, because it was my favorite too <3

I agree the endings were quite dark, I had a good ending but had to cut it for time lol. To me, it was meant to be a bit of a parable on overreliance on AI, so the really terrible endings felt warranted. Thank you so much for reading!

I think there were a few themes and characters I would have liked to have more time with, so I'd say it's less of a "not enough content" thing and more of a "not enough content for that content" thing. For example, I would have really liked to see a second scene with some of the side characters. Basically, I expected the wordcount to be a bit longer, but I understand if you had to make trade offs to get things finished in time. Everything we got was really well done too!

I don't think it needs more fanservice, in fact I thought the pieces we got were really good. What I meant was, I really wanted to hear and feel Hazel's pain and see her wrestle with her trauma a bit more directly. There was a line that said something like "she could feel a dull ache in her shoulder" And I think that was really tasteful. I was hoping to see that "dull ache" be elaborated on so the reader could feel exactly how Hazel was dealing with her trauma there. It feels like a juicy and important piece of you story, and I wanted more of it.

Wow, it's so powerful despite the short length. (There's a joke in there somewhere...)

The wind and droning base bgm gives it a contemplative and painful atmosphere. The same kind of kind of dull and constant discomfort that reminds me of my own dysphoria.

The argument felt like one I could have with myself in the course of my early transition too, that despite all of my hope for love and protection, it's not something I'll always be able to get. I could feel the POV character's disappointment in that realization too. I wanted to tell her how much better it gets with time.

I'm finally able to get to reading submissions! I started with porcelain heart because the art caught my eye. The sprites and UI were incredibly well polished and cute, and the sound design was absolutely amazing. The story felt a little short compared to all of the moving parts in the plot, and the "toxic" didn't feel quite as raw or as authentic as many of the entries from last year. Overall, a short, sweet, and cute little game that could have used a bit more spice.

The pacing was perfect, and the characters felt so true to life. So plausibly real, I genuinely threw up a little after reading this.

"To me this VN is like waiting for someone to get hard, and then smashing that thing as hard as I could with a hammer." Well, consider my dick smashed T-T
