If you mean the game on itch.io, posted by me, then yes it's safe. If you took the game elsewhere or from one of those bots that say "newest updated here", then no.
The game is very light, so you can easily run it on a VM, or just use sandboxie for extra safety.
-edit-
This is the Virustotal results: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/7c82c6db0252baba9f1fada24b53fb5813bcbab8a388... but most viruses work due to internet connection, which sandboxie can also block. My game doesn't try to access internet at all since I have no use for it, but it's always good to block it anyway just in case.
Finally, if you want to be extra cautious, I do plan on making a WebGL build at some point to be playable on the browser, so you can also wait for that if you so wish.
Neither, the protagonist is Asian due to the setting being in Japan.
However, unlike Overlord H, the protagonist will rarely be visible. It'll always be PoV, especially during NSFW scenes, so the focus will be entirely on the heroine in first person.
I believe PoV works best in terms of immersion, especially during NSFW scenes where anything outside of the heroine(s) would get in the way, but it'll also avoid me having to render the same scene twice (one for each skin color), which would quickly increase the game size since this game will have more content than the OG, including NSFW scenes.
In future, on Patreon and SS, I will create a poll to decide if the little of the protagonist visible in PoV should be semi-transparent, blue/gray, or default color during NSFW scenes.
Yeah, that's what it's supposed to happen. You pass out from it, but awake with a newly found power (which is the ability to learn up to 12 spells). There's no death in the game (aside from game over screens, which are rare). The power you unlock carries over in the sequel as well, so it's a good thing to have whether you are currently doing a magic-oriented playthrough or not.
There are only two outcomes: Raynare surviving (the charisma option) and Raynare dying (the other options). The other choices will give different CGs (so it's good to try them all if you want to complete the gallery) and for the rest of the game there'll be only slightly different text.
Raynare will show up much later in the game, after the summit, and at the beginning she'll only be mentioned as she's actively trying to avoid someone (I don't want to spoil it in case you need to unlock that scene yet).
However, she (or anybody else) won't be helping with contracts. Not only she's not a Devil, but it's your contract. They're designed to be fulfilled by you alone. All of the contracts have been balanced for an average protagonist (around 400-500 in each state). If you're losing, you just need to try a different strategy, as it's ultimately a strategy minigame.
For example, a common strategy I've used is to promote to knight, reach the end of the board, promote to queen, and then just run around while boosting myself.
The game is still missing some features, including summons which will make the battles easier.
Hello,
I gave a look at the code and script, everything looks fine and it hasn't been changed since the beginning, however I isolated the issue there, so I suppose it somehow broke during time, not sure why. I'll be releasing a patch this summer, in hope of gathering more bug reports in order to release a patch fixing multiple issues.
In the meantime, I fixed your save file which I have Uploaded on MEGA.nz, let me know if you'd prefer another host:
https://mega.nz/file/KKJT3YKY#dAj6-t6zKgox5xXCbJUY-ASf_UrD2XhtTJVWK8m3tCc
As for those encountering the same issue, you can actually fix it by yourself by pressing F1 to open the console and writing "AddItem Feather_Key 1" then execute as shown in the screenshot I took here:
https://mega.nz/file/WbZASS6T#B8U7i-q5y_H8LlGLBdzXRlvZP1zzFfclx4rfpv_bqWo
This is just a temporary fix until a patched build will be released during this summer (August or later).
Thank you for letting me know, and do let me know if you find any other issue in the game!
You can send a DM or post on Discord: https://discord.gg/usyhE2k or you can simply upload the save on a host like Mega, Mediafire, GoFile, etc. and post the link here.
It's not bugged, Maximize Magic I is rewarded during the training, it's not something you purchase from the shop. I'll check the spell "Great Devouring" having the same text as Boreas Wrath, that might be a typo (they should still work differently, just a visual bug), as for not working, you're simply failing your casting and/or missing your enemies. It should rarely happen once you have enough magic to access those spells. Also, some enemies have magic immunity (such as Crystal Mantis).
I don't remember if Great Devouring works the same way as Earthquake, but flying enemies are immune to that.
Did you apply the patch? Shouldn't freeze anymore with it. As for the delay, there's one on purpose, but it's about a second and half, should never be over that. If it's truly five seconds, then your game is running on low FPS.
The red orb is on the 13th floor, you can't lock yourself out of them. However, to unlock the magic shop, you need to be on the other common route where Riveria takes Ais' place when it comes to being a sort of teacher. If you do the orb secret and unlock your potential to have 12 spells, that will carry over in the sequel once you import your game though, so it's useful to do even if you're not in the correct common route.
As for Demeter, I had fixed her breasts size, but on her CGs. Didn't know there was an animation suffering that issue as well. Not sure why I didn't notice that there (To be fair, I had even forgotten she had animations x) ).
Demeter is not a "real" route, her scenes are considered "misc" as the game won't register you on her route on purpose. It's what people pursuing a no route playthrough could get, however this means you can mix Demeter scenes with other routes too, including harem. The game will still prompt you if you want to spend the night with Demeter (during the bit where deities chase you around), that would be the choice the game is referring to.
Difficulty_MonsterLuck is the modifier added to the monsters' attacks. When editing a variable, make sure to press the button "SET" which appears all the way on the right of the variable. If, despite that, you still get easily killed try "Normal difficulty" since not all variables are exposed in there, changing difficulty mid-game is not really a thing.
Also, make sure to never be ill equipped, the game used to be easier during R35 or before because some items and features were missing, now the game has been rebalanced with the expectation that you'll always have a few potions, morbuls, smoke balls, etc.
It was a false positive from the same file already included in the game (unchanged):
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/441e62f9d16492f9fe0c24d178de4ec97d818f977761...
To fix the issue, I've excluded from the patch all the files that are not needed since they're already in the game folder (I had just dragged the whole folder since it's small anyway):
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/904005e878cb00ba93607c124b7103239b618c3bce67...
The new patch has already been updated on the main game page, and it shouldn't have any other issue since VirusTotal hasn't found any false positive in the new files.
If the issue persists, then it's a problem with your browser/AV/System.
The walkthrough has existed since the beginning, it's available on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/posts/legacy-of-hestia-120297420
It's probably me uploading on itch.io incorrectly, as I use Butler. My guess is that something happens to the archive during the uploading process which corrupts the executable within, similarly to what happens if I try to zip a Mac game on Windows. I'll be using tar format for packing in future, and hopefully that'll fix the issue.
On Big Sur (The platform where I test it), I never had to run chmod -777 for Vox Gremory, the executable should be preserved since I use tar and Unity 2021 builds for mac without issues even on Windows.
This is how it looks like during my tests: https://imgur.com/a/rxIJscT
Not sure what's causing the issue, my best guess is that something is preventing the game from being extracted properly or to be ran at all.
