I actually just came up with the name myself, but did realize after a quick Google search that it's quite close to that one... hopefully I won't get the intellectual property cops knocking at my door 0.0

Thank you :)

Thanks for the feedback! Yea the text was a little hard to read, maybe a higher resolution for just the font would help without having to change the resolution of the whole game. And the learning curve could be improved for sure, for most jam games I just put a static image explaining controls and mechanics but a better tutorial could be integrated into the game, ideally through dialogue or environmental indicators.

I'm gonna get sued by Mojang D:

Thanks! Really glad to hear that the world building was successful to some degree, horror mystery is very interesting to me because it's slow but the supense builds up longer and the reveal is usually more impactful (and brings up even more questions). Would love to expand on The Town more in the future. Appreciate the feedback :)

Thank you! Yea the initial thought was that looking for notes would be enough incentive but clearly that needs some work. When playtesting I even found myself spamming C to see the world and Them at the same time, which obviously isn't the point haha. Maybe I'll do some updates in the future... (P.S. I really liked your game!)

Thank you! Not my finest font haha, would probably update that in a future version. I'll let my sound person know you liked their work.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the font could use some improvement, one of the more difficult assets to make on such a small pixel scale.

Thank you! I did animations and my friend did sound design, glad to hear it meshed well together despite being content from two different people.

Thanks! Yeah this was really meant to be a demo of the mechanic, would like to expand on the idea in the future, potentially in the form of puzzles. There are two endings hinted at in the notes...

Thank you! Much appreciated. I found your game to have a very clever concept as well.

Gotcha, I'll make a point to play it! Yeah this is one of the shortest jams I've done and there wasn't much time for polish so I feel that.

Thanks for the kind words! I'll pass the compliments on to the sound design folks :)  There are two different endings, both of which are hinted at in notes (although they both involve walking into something, for instance the eastern road as you stated, which I understand isn't super clear).

Thanks! I thought it would be an interesting mechanic. Your Scream Jam game or another game you've worked on also uses hearing? Either way I'd like to check it out!

Really nice atmosphere you created with this one, there was a good amount of build up. Nice work!

Cool fake OS game! Would be cool to see even more secrets hidden in the OS, but of course this was only a week long jam and I like exploring the game as it is.

This was a cool concept! Maybe some way to interact with the environment would give the experience more depth.

(1 edit)

This was really fun! Feels extremely polished, great art and sound design, and it keeps me coming back to get better scores. The way the game starts up again right after you select an upgrade is a little jarring, maybe a short timer to let the player adjust before jumping right back into the action would be helpful. Overall very well made game.

I really liked the look of the one, cool concept for the graphics. Gameplay was definitely difficult for me (and I believe the controls are wrong, it says left shift in the description but I had to press right shift?), might be nice like someone else mentioned to have some sort of difficulty curve at the beginning. Good work!

Fun game! The aesthetic is really cool, I'll have to check out GB Studio sometime.

Superb voice acting, game has a lot of polish for a week long jam. I like the more subtle horror theme, the horror of the business world. Horror generally pairs well with comedy. I do agree with another comment here that it was a little difficult to get the foot rubbing patterns just right... never thought I'd have to type out those words...

Gotcha, yeah you might have to switch to Chrome for this? (My preferred browser is Firefox which the game also didn't work in unfortunately.)

Sorry to hear that :( what happens when you hit play exactly? There are some issues with Godot HTML exports so it might be out of my hands. I was playtesting successfully on Chrome, are you on a different browser?

Thanks! Really glad that the atmosphere worked for you, I definitely wanted to try making something more subtle.

Thanks for playing! In my personal speedruns of the game I also used that "feature" to propel myself foward faster, maybe the number of hits to respawn the player should have been lowered. The flying enemy was either too powerful or too weak so I went with the latter since I was a little crunched for time but more balancing would definitely happen if an update was to come out. Glad it was a good experience!

Thanks! I mayyyyy have not had much time to balance so it's good to hear that the game isn't completely broken. Also in retrospect changing the transparency of the damage overlay doesn't really match the game, thanks for the pointer. Congratulations on submitting as well!

That's very kind of you to say, thank you so much! All of the ranges for how close you need to be could be adjusted for sure, I'll admit it was quite rushed as a lot of that and the level design was done in the last two days. Glad to hear you like the music, my brother made it so I'll pass along the compliment :)

The fact that I could remind you of a classic makes me happy :) Thanks for playing!

Thank you! I'm glad even the little details are noticeable.

Let's petition for a global plumber salary increase, we'll use the game as evidence.

Thanks so much!

Thank you! I agree the balancing definitely needs some work, it's good to hear it was fun anyways :)

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you could see what the vision was! It is unfortunate that I rushed the endings themselves, ideally those would've been a lot more accessible and interesting.

Thank you so much! I agree that the concept was strong, and I think the execution was pretty weak. I was only able to spend about 10 or so hours on this so I wish I could've fleshed it out more. More, better endings would make this a lot more playable.

Glad you enjoyed! Yea the secrets need a lot of work, I need to playtest more next time.

Thanks! I'm glad I could be a part of the video, I'll be sure to give it a watch through.

Thanks so much! I'm glad it was fun, I had basically no time to balance so I'm happy it wasn't a complete mess.

Thanks for playing! I've got my brother to thank for that sweet soundtrack, glad you liked it.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the compliment. To be fair some friends helped with the idea, but it is a pretty unique one haha

Thanks! And I agree, there should really be a win state or more items, just something to spice it up.

Good to hear! Haha yea I wish I had time to add some more "furniture" for it.
