What engine or language was this made in?

It depends. If you want to use an engine, would you prefer actual coding or event/block style? If you want to not use an engine, which will be much harder (you will have to build almost everything yourself), I recommend C++ which is what I use. But I would recommend that you use an engine, as it will be much easier. What system do you operate on?

First of all, is there  programming language you would want to use?

Truthfully, it is not really that fun. It is definitely an AI slop game, almost no effort from the developer was made. If this were not a basic AI game, it may be better.
If you are new to game dev, it is more rewarding to fully code the game yourself, trust me. If you want info on how to do that, I would be happy to help.

Also there is a new version (0.0.2) that released

Are there any features that you think would make it more interesting?

Game Title: Survival Game

Playable Link: https://w-java-games.itch.io/java-survival-game

Hey! I’m working on a small 2D survival game in Java with procedural world generation and chunk-based rendering.

I just uploaded an early build and would really appreciate feedback.

What I’d love feedback on:

  • Does the world generation feel interesting or repetitive?
  • Performance (any lag or stuttering?)
  • Controls (movement feel smooth or clunky?)
  • What should I add next?

About the game:

  • Procedural world generation (seed-based)
  • Chunk loading system
  • Basic survival sandbox mechanics (early stage)
  • Custom tile rendering system

This is still an early version, so bugs and missing features are expected.

Even one sentence of feedback helps a lot.

I’ve been trying to figure it out, but I’m now sure how to do it

I'll look into it
Did any errors pop up?

I'm making a prison escape RPG game. I want to know if the current controls and mechanics feel good.

Right now, I'm learning Java, so the graphics look like the tutorial's for now until I can get a texture atlas in the game.

1. Do the controls feel good

2. Do the mechanics work

3. Any other feedback

:)

Prison Escape (0.0.3) Java by wpallender
I am making a java prison escape game. It is pretty bare bones right now, but I would love any and all feedback!

Maybe, I can’t do anything about it right now though.

:(

1 had malware and the other was AI generated

This project has been disqualified due to a report of malware. To contest this, please DM wpallender.

This submission has been disqualified due to a report of this game being made entirely using AI. If you would like to contest this decision please DM me.

It's actually looking like the alpha release will be in January. I plan to have combat and maps done by then. I've already done movement and collisions and I'm currently working on objects.

Hey there, I'm working on developing a new game in Java. Without a game engine, it has been hard, but also really fun.

So what is the game? It is going to be like a combination of The Escapists and Minecraft. So essentially a prison escape game, but with building and crafting.

I just want to know if anyone would be interested in playing, or is anyone has any ideas on what to add.

This game is still early in development, I'm hoping an early release will be available in January or February.

Prototype 0.0.1 --> https://wpallender.itch.io/prison-escape-java

I'm working on adding more levels and a better ending.

The theme for this year's Frostbyte Game Jam is Frozen Circuits!

I used GDevelop because it isn't blocked on my school computer. Also cause it is pretty simple and has good capability with 2d and 3d. I could've made it better but I didn't have much time.

Also, I've never used Godot, what is it like?

Yeah, I didn't have time for sound or better animations.

So what, I still think you should make it free.. Just sayin :)

I'm working on getting more

Can you make this free again
