This game reminds me the "game books" I used to read when I was a teenager. In a good sense. You know, where you need to go to the page number dependent of your choice. Nostalgia. The more I read, the more immersed I become. Good stuff! I wonder, is it possible to make this game for an e-ink book readers? Anyway, game needs a dark theme option.

To read the book, he just take, player needs to press 5 buttons. And first button (open menu) is not obvous for players who doesn't play these type of games often.
I think, it'll be a good idea, to make 'I' as hotkey for Inventory, and after taking book, show hint: "Press 'I' to open inventory..." or something like that. Anyway, inventory is an important part of the game isn't it? So, hotkey would be good idea.

Astromental Incremental

Browser-playable demo is available.
My first game in incremental genre, also my first game as an indie solo game developer.
Work in progress!

This is my first game in incremental genre, so I desperately need feedback.

Demo is here: https://visualdima.itch.io/astromental-incremental
(playable in browser + downloadable windows version)

It is an incremental, idle, clicker game about space. When objects collide, you receive matter, then use this matter to unlock and upgrade objects in your star system. Also, you can use mouse to speed up the process.

There is a prestige system (Warp) with a Skill Tree, and new star systems with bonuses (for now, there are only two systems in the demo).

As I said, I'm new to the genre. There are a lot of things can go wrong. Is the pacing too slow, or too fast? Is this style of graphics OK for this game? Is timing of the first prestige OK?... etc.
... is the game even have a chance?
Any type of feedback is appreciated!

It's alive!

So, Astromental Incremental is my first incremental game. Also first PC game as an independent solo developer.
I was working hard to make a playable demo, containing enough content to play around 2 hours or even more.
Now, game is playable in browser and has a downloadable windows build available.
And this is work in progress.

Game consists of continuous "runs", each 15 minutes or more. Player buys upgrades in real time during those runs (like in classical clickers and idle games). But also, there is a prestige mechanics with a big Skill tree of permanent upgrades. Also, there is a progression of star systems: each new star system type grants some bonuses. I made only 2 types of star systems in the demo, but I plan to have at least 6 (including exotics like double stars and black hole).

Whats next?

There is a big game mechanics, that was not implemented in the demo: Abilities.
Here, on this screenshot, I mark slots for abilities activation buttons. Abilities are powerful tools, could, and would break current balance of the game. So, I think it's a priority for now, to implement them and test, test, test...

Main problem for now:

I'm absolutely noob in marketing. I have no idea, how to made my game visible to the players. And I desperately need feedback...

At last! I am satisfied with the stage of the game and releasing a free demo!

The point of the game is in its name: "Astromental incremental".

There will be an Abilities system in the future, but it's not ready for the demo yet.

There are plenty of things in the demo already: asteroids, planets, comets, prominences. The Skill tree already has lots of available nodes, and you need at least 3 hours to activate them all.

You can play the game in the browser (~13Mb) or download windows version (~64Mb).
