🙀What lol

I made this using only pure Python with no engine, and people tend to write viruses and stuff in the same way. Also, I bundled all the DLLs into one exe, which makes antiviruses even more suspicious. And I can't afford to pay for one of those security certificates. Sorry about this lol, don't worry it's just the same game you played before with some bug fixes.

I've fixed most of the bugs now and also added a couple of things in the new version, further development of the game is in full swing. If you would like to try the fixed and updated version, please do, Playtesting is always helpful. Also congratulations on winning the jam!

Thank you for the bug report, good luck with the game! WARNING: There have been reported bugs with  the last level (4th level) involving the fire staff (game crashes when you use them on enemies) sorry about those, anyway, it's pretty possible to beat the enemies and bosses without using the staff.

The game is fun to play and the sounds and music are nice! One bug i would like to report is that at one point I'm not sure what i did but when i respawned the red blinking effect on the player and the spawn immunity wouldn't go away... i fell into traps and stuff and didn't die. 

This game is extremely cool! The huge open world, the enemies, and the precision platforming are all really nice to play through. The "become a rat" mech is especially innovative! Good job!

Very cool game, in the top 10 overall for sure! I had a lot of fun playing, the pixel art is very nice and clean and the music and sfx give the game a nice vibe! I got to the water bubble wand and the slime boss, couldn't beat him, unfortunately. Good job!

Very nice game, i enjoyed playing it! The platforms, jumping platforms, falling platforms, the teleport gates, collectables and monsters were extremely well put together to create a cool explorable world! Good job!

Cool game, I enjoyed playing it, especially the boss fight with the guy who shot black circles and dropped the grapple. And then grappling from the spikes on the roof was pretty fun too! Just one problem I have is that all the controls are displayed only at the start and it seems there is no other way of reading about them and it's hard to remember all that (same problem in my game lol), I tried pressing escape a few times for a pause menu but that just closed the game.

The bug you found is probably a rare issue combined with lag (the game is actually quite laggy on the later levels since it is made in python and pygame but I added framerate independence to cover that up) and a unique jump case where you just barely touched the edge of the tile. I will fix it after the jam along with other bugs and also add more levels and maybe slope out the difficulty curve. Once again, thank you for playing and for the bug report!

This game is awesome, altho i couldn't get through the falling spikes zone (ironic because i also made something exactly like that in my own game lol), good work!

i have been able to find the bug with the fire staff, however i am not able to recreate the bug with main and checkpoints (this game is made without an engine so the code is huge and the code relating to checkpoints is spread everywhere) pls send some more info if possible

Nice game, it was especially fun to fight the aerial enemies and mine gold while avoiding the ground-erupting monster!

oh, was the door open or closed? If it was open then you probably made it through zone 3 and got to zone 4 properly

and I'm really happy somebody tried to play the game till the end, i was afraid everyone would just go through the first couple of zones without seeing the last zones, thank you very much once again!

about the backtracking through zones and ending up in fire staff level, please tell me more, that seems to be a seperate issue from the wizards crashing

Thank you!I am sorry about the bug, i will look into it. It is likely because I just put in the last level without testing due to lack of time (that has caused a bunch of little issues besides this bug). I'll expand the game further after the jam and fix the issue, and shiftania save system was designed to continue to work even through multiple installs so you can play it then.

thanks for playing and commenting! yes the tutorial is a bit cramped, i didn't get the time to make it much better since i wanted to put it in at the end after everything else and i just put in a bunch of explanation sides to show everything, i will add the stuff mentioned in the tutorial to game description page.

thank you for playing the game, did you play the real version or unofficial web version (which has lag and floaty movement)? the real desktop version is better faster and it is also the one to rate for the jam. The shapeshifting mechanic has multiple purposes. You. can go to the shop, buy spikes or hidden spikes or axes or fire traps. and shapeshift other tiles into them in order to kill enemies. You can also shapeshift spikes already in game to ground tiles in case you can't jump over them. There also some puzzle type cases later on inthe game where you need to shapeshift some objects in order to continue through the level. I hope that clears it up.

yea I played and commented as well, I don't think i encountered any issues, the game is pretty well made.

Sick pixel art and voice lines, i liked the combat and boss fighting! Especially how skeletons follow you between platforms if they can (I tried implementing that with my game enemies as well) rather than just moving forward and backward as soon as you escape like enemies usually do!

This game is sick, the art and the music set a cool horror vibe and the shooting and other sfx and exploring the zombie city are also cool! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to beat the zombies in the spaceship but it was still fun playing. Good job!

the hidden spike can only be shapeshifted after emerging from the ground when the player or enemies get close to it, you can jump from the platform before the hidden spike and land on the block next to it. here I uploaded a vid explaining it.

This is a really nice game, i loved the pixel art and especially the cool clock effect and runes!

Also there are rows of spikes which can only be crossed with shapeshifting, I should have added that infoto the tutorial.

Thank you for playing and for the nice comment, yes buying spikes, hidden spikes, etc from the shop is meant to kill the knights, there are also shields in the shop which can protect you from a certain number of sword hits from the enemies depending on the level of shield you buy (there is wooden shield < then iron shield < then golden shield < then diamond shield). There are also some small puzzles in the other zones which require you to use tile shapeshifting.

doesn't matter, you seem to have done that during the late submissions period so it's fine and it would have been okay even if you made some small changes like bug fixes (it's mentioned in the jam rules bug fixes are allowed during late submissions period)

Cool game, the art looks very nice and consistent, the music gives the game a cheerful sort of vibe and the precision platformer style felt good to play in (I went with a precision platformer style in my entry too)!
