🤖 GAME JAM AI RULES UPDATE 🤖

Hey everyone! For Nightmare on Dev Street, I want the focus to stay on creativity, learning, and actually making your own game.

AI is allowed, but its use will be limited.

AI CAN be used for: • Brainstorming ideas • Getting help debugging code • Explaining programming concepts • Placeholder assets during development • Grammar/spelling help • Getting feedback or suggestions

🚫 AI SHOULD NOT be used to: • Generate your entire game • Generate the majority of your game's code • Create all of your final artwork, characters, environments, or animations • Generate an entire soundtrack or voice cast and present it as your own work • Submit a game that was primarily created through AI prompts

🎮 The important rule: You should be the main creator of your game.

AI should be a tool that helps you create, not the person creating the game for you.

If you use AI-generated content in your final submission, please disclose what AI was used for on your game page.

The goal isn't to ban AI — it's to make sure this jam showcases your ideas, your skills, and your creativity.

Thanks everyone, and have fun creating something terrifying. 👁️🔥

Really good game, one thing though the button to take you to the main menu wouldn't work for me.

Sure, I'll check it out

I played it, and I think you should slow down the enemy speed it's really fast and it only takes one hit to kill you.  and the movement keep getting me killed, the player does like this little slide that makes me go further then I intend. I actually didn't make it to far I keep dying in the room with the kids laughing, I keep over jumping because of that slide. Also, the room with the second level I was able to just cheese it and spam jump against the ledge to get up without having to go through the level

Cool thanks for the feedback

Thank you

Cool thanks for the feedback

I appreciate it

Thanks for the input

All your games look really good, do you have any tips for a newbie?

It is pretty cool. It looks it's early on the only suggestions I have are effects like having the screen swing as your player swing and have it slightly over and then come back to the player. And I don't know if I was mis inputting but I was trying to chain swings together but couldn't. And no pressure but I was also looking for feedback on my newest game maybe check it out

I've been working on this game for the last few weeks, and I'm having a hard time with the second room when you run out of time. I just don't know what exactly I want to happen. And also, the transitions from room to room are not great. And I'm not for sure if fights are too difficult or not. Maybe give it a play and leave me some suggestions. Thanks

I only have done 3d games

Did you make it out of the hotel?

I have zero experience making 2D games and I've only used unity, but I would like join a team.

Cool, glad you liked it

I liked it, could you also rate my game?

I tried to play your game, but I don't think you uploaded it properly. All I got was the exe. file

I rated your game would you mind rating mine?

Will the games be streamed at all?

Okay got ya

(1 edit)

Thank you for the feedback. And I'm glad you liked it. Also what is AOE?

Okay, yeah that target was intentional

Was the target red or yellow? And I'll check the full screen function thanks.

I made a short run and gun game for a game jam. But it feels a little flat to me. What should I add to make the game more enjoyable? I'm thinking vehicles or some sort of mech suits. Any feedback would be appreciated. Here's the link R.A.C. Spec Ops by TweNty GAmEs

Are the game rankings going to to be posted?

Interesting game. One thing I would change though would be the speed of the cursor.
