Watched the video... Felt good to watch someone play the game and give feedback in real time. I realise now that I should have told the player how to sprint, as it's crucial to get one of the endings.

The two endings you missed were (SPOILERS)


Using the plane while the window was still closed

Sprint-jumping from the desk to the backpack in the wardrobe and using it

Oh wow! Haven't watched it, but I'm really excited to, whether you love it or hate it, it means a lot to me :)

I think a clue would be necessary for that puzzle then.

Love the artwork that's there (especially the promo picture) but another background would have been nice. Only valid criticism I can really make - there's not really anything wrong with the game :) Although I don't quite see how it relates to one room...

Thanks for the feedback! Actually was replaying my game out of boredom yesterday and thought about making other levels, and I'd love to make 'em, just had nowhere near enough time before a deadline. In terms of the interaction bug, I handled it in the scripting very clunkily - it checks if you're looking at something, then checks the range, sees if it has the tag <interactable> then if you press E on it, it checks the name of the object and sets other variables accordingly. It sometimes gets stuck between pressing E and checking the name. If it (for whatever reason) doesn't recognise the name of the object, it gets stuck checking it forever, meaning you can't press E on anything else.


TL;DR Thanks for feedback, may make more levels in future, will handle interaction differently in future to prevent that bug :)

What do the pickups do and how do i use them?

I appreciate the feedback! The original plan was actually to be able to shoot the bullets yourself, but the mechanic was too much for me to wrap my head around :P Thanks for playing :D

In terms of the binary puzzle, I can confirm that 0+0 isn't 1, and 1+1 isn't 0. You're gonna have to explain this to me mate? How is 0+0=1 for the first one, 1+1=0 for the second, but 0+1=1?

-I can't read the font

-The credits are only onscreen for about 1 second so the unreadable font is made more unreadable

-I was small, but could not go through the small door? EDIT: Turns out you don't interact with it, you walk through it. That's not very obvious, as you have to interact with it for it to say you're too small, but walk to use it.

-The text should not phase in letter by letter in a time sensitive game, it should be instant. The time you spend reading should be dictated by reading speed, not game speed

-The interact sound is really... Painful, I guess?

-Hidden spike pit sucks. I feel cheated by that. There was no way I could've known what was down there. but I was killed anyway. It feels like a sick joke.

That's not an issue with pick-up order, it's a separate bug which I believe is cause when you interact with something too quickly or miss it slightly. 

The music was such an ache to source I'm glad someone appreciates it :D Thanks for your feedback!

If you mean the really thin ledge, I tried that but there seemed to be an invisible collider. I'll give it another go.

Is there a way to "Win?"

I've tried doing the ending with each one of the people in the room, and then with nobody. test failed every time. What else can be done?

Is there supposed to be guidance in the tutorial? It just seems like an orange level to me.

Although will say, once I figured out how to play, I enjoyed the idea of a 2d escape room.

I'm not entirely sure what to do...

Does freezing actually do anything apart from lock the box to your hand?

How do I know which state I'm in?

And most importantly, how do I get anywhere in the game? I use the box to climb onto the platform shown in the right of the thumbnail, and can make no progress from there.

Do you have Winrar or something? I tested downloading it from the site and it works fine for me.

This is a guide to achieving every ending for satisfaction (or in the case of the GameJam, for judging the game!)
SETUP - Most endings require the following

-Grab the dart gun from under the bookshelf at the foot of the bed

-Grab the darts from the shelving unit (they're on the bottom row)

-Go to the right of the shelving unit and interact with the 'ghost darts'

-Interact with the new darts to climb onto the unit

-Drop down from the top of the unit onto the rightmost top compartment to find the nail clippers

-Use the nail clippers on the guitar to get string and craft grappling hooks

-You can use these grappling hooks at three points in the room. They're hard to miss

Ending 1 - Through the Door

-Follow the setup steps

-Climb onto the shelving unit and jump onto the bed. There is a key behind the pillow. Take it.

-Use the grapple next to the door and interact with it.

Ending 2 - Out the Window

-Follow the setup steps

-Jump from the shelving unit to the desk

-Drop onto the chair, then jump onto the PC unit beneath the desk. Grab the key.

-Make your way back up to the top of the desk. There is a shelf that you can drop down to on one side (quite hard to miss)

-Take the tape from the shelf and jump back up

-Interact with the plane

-Interact with the lock on the window (may require a jump)

-Use the grapple on the wardrobe/closet

-Interact with the green plane prompt

Ending 3 - Into the Window

-Follow all steps of ending 2, but don't pick up the key or interact with the window lock.

Ending 4 - Into the vents

-Follow the setup

-Grapple on the wardrobe/closet and climb up

-Grab the screwdriver

-Interact with the same grapple again to avoid falling

-Go on top of the shelving unit and do the grapple there, then interact with it

Ending 5 - In the Rucksack

-After firing the darts to make a ladder to the shelving unit, jump onto the desk.

-Go around to the other side and do a running jump from the edge of the desk. Strafe around the corner of the wardrobe/closet to land on the shelf, then interact with the rucksack.

Ending 6 - At Least you tried

-Follow the setup and grapple up the wardrobe/closet

-Jump off.

-No seriously, just jump off.

Ending 7 - Mousehole

-There's a door in the corner behind the desk. Go through it
