I'm Lola. Professionally have been a graphic designer/web dev/UI person for almost 20 years and near 15 with Info Security Analysis. I'm known for specific approaches utilizing OSINT and Social Engineering and have viewed cyber security has a game to keep interest. With the artistic skill set this can make it even more confusing but still quite fascinating.

Video games and interactive projects is a welcome escape from a lot of the serious work that I do and sometimes awful people I have to interact with. I want to test out my ability to work on a game dev team starting off with the artistry, design, UI, and overtime learning more of the programming. I am completely self-taught within IT so as long as someone is around for me to poke at with questions I have I can usually learn it.

I prefer story driven games whether adventure, horror, mystery, suspense, or visual novel. I'm an excellent proofreader and writer as well as making the experience true to the statement "show, don't tell" even when words are necessary. Voice acting I am very comfortable in doing and even have a set of characters and accents I've attempted to polish over the years.

There are several ideas I have for interactive types of games that are a bit more on the detective side I just lack the experience specifically in game development.

Feel free to reach out to me via email: thelolabohemia@gmail.com for more of a portfolio example.
Thanks!

As someone who has worked freelance and as a sub-contractor online for years, anyone who may potentially send me a paycheck has to, by law, have your social security number with this. This is so the CRA (or in my case IRS) can compile the earnings of a person and make sure certain things are claimed. When I sign up for sites I have crowdfunded on or receive donations on this process is commonplace. Should you earn enough that it's required you file taxes that year you file freelance work on a different form since taxes aren't taken out of it by the employer but rather it's the freelancer's responsibility.

A good thing to keep in mind with that is that should these earnings be substantial set aside 30% received in a bank account so that if all your income is freelance that is the amount you might need with taxes. In the US the form for freelance is 1099, not sure what the Canadian equivalent is but you are totally fine. Itch.io couldn't do anything otherwise it would be a huge federal offense so no worries.

As someone who has been more of an outsider but an artist, storyteller, and possessing multiple skill sets I figured it wouldn't hurt to tip my toes in the water. The area which I certainly lack is game development and software utilization itself however being self-taught and rather quickly has been what's allowed me to have 20 years of graphic design and UI/UX experience. I started off making webpages as a sort of "choose your own adventure" alternative in the late 90's early 00's.

As an artist I can develop characters, settings, concepts, original/distinct design, within 2D. I am sure some of my art can be applied to 3D elements over time. I enjoy pixelated art and integrating the non-traditional in a game environment. Some of my work is high contrast and very bright and bold while others are almost Junji Ito inspired.

Writing a cohesive story line and editing is definitely a strong suit as long as I am given a tangible idea initially. Excellent at proofreading and allowing a story to effectively "show, don't tell" even when words are necessary.

With some experience in scambaiting I have lent my voice as myriad of characters with different accents and ages able to have believable two person conversations with myself. I understand the importance of tone, inflection, convincing emotional transition, etc.

Depending on the project would depend on compensation whether it is working with others to gain experience making it mutually beneficial or I may require a small amount for specific talent. The purpose would be to build up a very dynamic portfolio as well as expand my own skill set. I have no issue working for trade.
