If there’s errors on launching the software, you can try to run in without sandboxing:

$ ./Brick\ City\ 1.0.2203151-linux.AppImage --no-sandbox

The game requires AppImage support to run. Also you need to chmod x the Brick City 1.0.2203151-linux.AppImage.
Try to run it from terminal first.

Thanks for the feedback!

We did discuss alot about the movement speed. The main reason is that if you were faster than the zombies, you'd just run around and there wouldn't be any feeling of danger for the story. That would do just fine if the game were a shoot-em-up but we have a story driven game where you need to answer the phone instead. Now the player is just about the same speed and you have limited things you can do to hinder the zombies movement (hitting them, blocking with benches or cars at certain choke points and going around corners).

Is there a way to get full devlog posts in rss form? By default they seem to be excerpts with links.

Very interesting approach.

I've played Achieve before and rated it back then but for some reason my comment wasn't there. Maybe it was so late at night I tested I just forgot to post it. Anyway Achieve is visually and aurally very nice game.

I liked almost all aspects of the game, especially the music which sounds something that came out of Amiga. The graphics are spot on for the game. Gameplay is flappy bird-ish but still different enough.

Thanks for playing and rating!

Nice platformer game with well done graphics. Alternate controls would've been nice for left handed people and azerty-keyboard warriors.

Thanks for playing and rating!

Thanks for playing the game!
We'll be looking at the start screen programming and effects later on. Currently it is a bit too heavy. There's a lot of physics, background loading (Firebase connections) etc. happening at the same time.

Thanks for playing!
We've already fixed bunch of stuff in development builds and have upcoming features coming, including a Building Editor.

Thanks for playing in stream!
We have a DevLog about upcoming fixes and changes.

Nice concept. A mouse destroyer for sure :D

My version of chill music would be DOOM 2016 BFG Division by Mick Gordon....

Thanks for liking our game!

Definitely keep improving the game after the jam.

You definitely need to keep improving the game. More turret and enemy types would be nice.

Nice game. Left handed players would benefit for arrow key controls. A/D + Space is pretty hard to do with right hand.

This game had strong Settlers vibes. I liked it a lot. It took a while to notice that I could also build military buildings...

No browser version of the game, so I can't test.

Nice monochrome graphics and pretty neat game mechanics. Worth improving on.

Nice and simple graphics, and they work great. Maybe add arrow key controls?

Nice and good looking game. The sounds and music are great! I was hoping for arrow key controls and music/sound volume sliders in options. Good job!

  • Different sized wheels?
  • Tracks, like tanks have?
  • A ”drill” of sorts you could activate once or twice per level to make targeted rock small?
  • Maybe the colony had air defenses malfunction and their drones are hostile to anyone so you sometimes need a turret or two to shoot the drones down?
  • Strong magnet or bolts to strengthen a join
  • Turbo charged engine to have a speed boost which you could activate
  • A linear piston which you could use to lift the vehicle a bit

Other stuff

More shapes to travel through?

Instead of just a pile of rocks to go through, add a canyon?

Was there ability to rotate the pieces? I felt the need for 45 degree angle pieces?

Thanks for liking the game! Please do complete all 10 levels, its starting to be a bit lonely at the top… :)

You really need to be precise and save bullets to survive for sure.

The game has a solid idea but needs refining. Keep working and improving!

Nice platformer with decent atmospheric music. Jumping feels inaccurate. I felt that the game wants to have a pixel perfect jumping but when you try to do that, the character just slides off the block.

Requires more work; small notifications that you've collected something, animations for actions etc. A good start of a game though.

The game doesn't load. :(

Uniquely musical game. You actually can learn some while playing this game. Very nice!

Keep on working the game after the jam!

Good start of a platformer which you can keep developing upon.

Not much in common with jam's theme though.

The play area felt a bit claustrophobic but that's what this sort of game is. :)

Good looking art. Nice puzzles.
