I love Morgan's animation!! 😁
The game fits the theme perfectly and it's a nice story!

Gameplay wise, it's hard to know what choice to make and when to make it.
After losing 5 times I just ignored studies to reach the ending ^^

And I guess the shop wasn't implemented in time because everything was sold out ?

Good job!

Ohhh ok thats why!

Maybe it just lacks a small tutorial on the mechanics but for a game jam it's ok !

I love the atmosphere of the game and really nice art and story!

The gameplay idea seems good but there is something lacking to make it more fun

Good job!

Very short game with a cool atmosphere. The music fits well and the environment is well made.

As others said, the camera needs fixing and you can jump while seated 😂

What I also wanted to point out is that you go faster when jumping so you end up spamming the jump button to go faster which, I think, is contrary to what you wanted to do. Maybe you can just remove jumping and make the character go a little faster 😋

Good job!

Very polished game with nice style!

The only thing I can't seem to grasp is how attacking works, when I end my turn, I have some cards that do not attack. And on the first round, before the opponent can play, my first creature attacks which seems a bit unfair for him.

Except that really solid entry. Good job!

Good job for a beginner game!

Here's some tips  :
- make it so when the user stop inputting a direction he stays in the last direction to be able to shoot left even when stopped
- make the hitbox of the player smaller in the vertical axis to pass more easily the small gaps
- make the player fall more slowly, the gravity is increasing to fast making precise platforming harder (there is tons of resources explaining on how to make a good platformer jump!)

Very nice integration of the theme!  The music and art fit really well with the game.

As others already said, you can work on making it more intuitive. Not a lot of people read all the tutorials before jumping in the game 😁

What you could also do is prompt the level up menu as soon as you level up or make an animation because I ALWAYS forgot to level up and sometimes I had two levels to catch up ^^

Good job!

It's a cool mini game with good voice acting, the game idea is definitely there but requires some changes to avoid bypassing the game mechanics by spamming.

I think the easiest would be to add a cooldown between the shoots and maybe some tweaking to the enemy spawn rate 😁

Good job!

Very polished game!

Turning the ship upside down for the first time was amazing hahaha

Very good job!

Fun take of the theme!

There is a lot of minigame, where you inspired by WarioWare?

Tips for improving the game:
- Work on making the minigames VERY intuitive as there are a lot of them, the player should know the controls and what he needs to do in a few seconds
- Maybe add a timer and make the minigame faster to add more energy!

Good job!

For a first game jam this is really impressive! SFX, VFX, animations, music you did a lot!

Here's some feedback:
- For me there is too much controls, when playing with the mouse it is just not possible to move the camera around. This is not a problem for this game jam tho but keep it in mind if you plan on building a bigger game 😉
- Controller support would have been appreciated too!
- The rat king has too much HP, it feels like a chore at some point

Good job!

Very cool gameplay ideas!

It's a bit hard to get into with the character movements, but after that  it gets fun. Good job!

Some feedback:
- As other pointed out, the hitbox is feeling clunky
- The character movements feels like he's running on ice, make him stop immediately when the player stops moving, it's frustrating when the bullets require so much precision ^^
- The last boss phase music was a sad piano song, you should have put something with more energy to make it more epic!
- You also can get out of the map by using the door below 😂

The music fits well. The SFX and animations makes the characters feel more alive!

Making choices is always hard on the developer side because you need to do a lot more content but for the player choosing a choice that ends in a game over feels a bit bad 😥
If you can you should reduce this type of choices.

Good job for the game!

Yoo that was really good! The theme was really well integrated, the gameplay is solid!

I just have one feedback:
When you level up most upgrades are for melee. When you shop, all the upgrades are for magic.
Usually a player will choose if he prefer melee or magic and take the upgrades accordingly, so you should try to do balance it out.

Good job!

Very cool game with a lot of work! The atmosphere makes me think of Outer Wilds.

But I couldn't figure out what I needed to done on the first island, I scanned all the three objects but then?

Here's some feedback/bugs to make it even better!
- You can add a ambient background music
- The posters are cool but you can buy when even without the money then you get into debt haha
- I couldn't scroll in the diary
- When finding an object, it is hard to understand you need to get out the drone controls panel to press the button on the computer, maybe a quick overlay in the game could help?
- Some strange bugs when spamming right/left click (I got outside the room or I could move the drone while moving in the room etc...), I know I'm not supposed to do that but I was a bit frustated not understanding what you needed to do with the objects 😋

Even tho there is a lot feedbacks it is due to you having done a lot of content. Good job!

Good job for the game!

It has solid art and a gameloop that works!

Here is some feedback:
- The game is a bit too hard so I used a gamebreaking bug to finish it
- The gamebreaking bug: when you are dragging the ship, wait to be hit by a bullet and release your ship immediately -> the knockback of the bullet is canceled so you can ignore ALL the bullets 😂
- Add a music and SFX this will make it so much better!
- Add some animations/VFX when getting hit for even more polish!

Good job for the game! It's a nice labyrinth!

I had some bugs tho:
- When approaching the medusa's head the game the player gets stucks and you need to reset the game to play again 😅
- The first book wouldn't get on the table 😥

And some tips for improvement:
- The doors are not clear: Make the door larger and make it so we can interact with them or just remove the door ^^
- Make the player be able to go up the stairs without jumping

Good job for creating this game and learning as you go!
It gets easier each time you make a new one 😁

Here are some tips:
- Use coherent artstyle between assets (eg. some assets are pixel art some are not)
- Spend some time on the UI (unity default is a good starting point but customize it!)

The music fits well and the idea is good

Here are some ideas of improvment :

- Make the camera fix and show all the planets by dezooming the game zone, I don't think it's useful to be able to move around with right click

- Reduce the hungry planet SFX pitch or volume or frequence, it was spammed while I was reading the planets type description and it was a bit annoying

- Make it clearer what kind of food you need to give to each planet, (maybe each planets could have a distinct color and food?)

Good job for the game!

Good job!

The game is easy to get into even with all the different mechanics!
Just as others pointed out some music would be cool 😀

I love the overall aesthetic of the game!
Though it seems there is some kind of parallax on the background that I would remove ^^

The controls requires precision and patience to get used to, it's not my type of game but I think some people loves it!

Good job!

Love the game very polished!

Just a bit of a personal preference, I prefer to play the game and read the instructions after if I'm stuck 😇
A skip button for the first instructions would be appreciated!

Good job ! 🎉

It's really fun, thank god for the hitboxes so you can stay in front of your ghost even on a mistake haha

I have not a lot to say for improvments the game is very fun. Maybe just be careful of the constrast + pixel font on the main title scene, the text is not very readable

Great job!

(1 edit)

Yeah when you die it loop back to the beginning of the level but that part was rushed so the points aren't reset (not a feature, a bug 😋) and it may not be as clear as we wanted it to be!

Thanks for playing !

Very fun puzzles! I just couldn't figure out the second one haha
The artstyle works really well and the UI is nice 😀

For improvements, as others pointed out the levels lacks music. And sometimes it felt a bit clunky with the physics hitboxes.

Good job!

I really like the concept of the game! The artstyle and audio work well together 😀

But gameplaywise it feels like the "optimal" way to play it is just to hide in a spot and wait, sometime dodge a projectile or your ghost. Maybe with more health packs or some other bonuses scattered around the map you can reward the player to take risks and move around. I think this would make the gameplay more exciting

Good job!

The concept works really well, I love the newspaper's SFX and the artstyle 😎

For improvements: It was a bit frustrating to have each loop remove all the tasks. I think it would've been better to let the player choices carry on. It also makes sense on a story perspective "I did this yesterday, I just need to fit X to my schedule and I'm good!"

Good job overall! 🎉

The art is really really cool! And very good use for the theme!

It was a bit hard to getting into it because of the lack of music/sounds and the pulse mechanic wasn't very clear on what it does, it required a bit of experimentation ^^

Good job!

Love the concept! Really good use of the theme!

It was a bit hard to play at first but then I discovered you can zoom out and see the planets, oops!
I also think that once you have looped around a planet it shouldn't reward any more points, to encourage the player to explore!

Nice job overall!

NB: The banger music should be the music by default 🤘

Good job!

I like the concept that you hurt yourself with the boomerangs! And great executions too!

For improvements: I think the game would benefits having more enemies, it was pretty empty (but I also a bug where I didn't had to recharge 😋)
And maybe just have the boomerang randomly go left or right? I'm not sure there is a point to have the player choose, personaly I just went close to the enemy to shot anyway ^^

Yeah, 10 people includes all the one who participated (some more than others)
And it's just a fun activity with colleagues with lots of them don't knowing game dev

Its more about having a good time + learning than doing the game of the year 😋

Cool little game! A bit slow at the start but once you get some upgrades it gets really fun to get to the top!

The sprites and the music fit well together. Good job!

Very cool story! Loved the art & the music 🎶

Gameplay is simple but it works well with the story telling.
I think it would've been cool to add a sound/music for the violin part to go with the ending?

Good job!

Overall it's a fun game and a nice idea for the theme.
If I had to give feedback for improvements, I think a lot of things have already been said in the comments but I think they are really important too:
- for first time players, add a clear separation from the blocks you can pick and the level
- retry shouldn't remove your blocks, if it happens when you failed the platforming section or if there is ONE block that you need to change it adds some frustration
- make all the blocks necessary for the puzzle, it felt like I didn't do the puzzle as intended as I had a pieces that were not really used and it add clutter to the game space
- Add maybe an option to right click a block to remove it

Even though the list is a bit long, I really enjoyed your game and just want it to be even better 😜

Like Matie said, push the box and then you can grab the gun.

If you need you can check (but careful to not get spoiled all the levels 😜)

Really cool game, its fun to think of the path then building it with music! 🎶
The only improvements I can think of is add some feedback on the button when clicking on them in the menu. Good job!

Love the introduction scene! This is a really beautiful game. And nice game mechanics. Well done! 🦦

Good game feel and art.

I think there may be too much animations between the characters. As there is a timer for each day, I want to know asap what the request is.

Good job!

The music and art is really cool but I dont have a qwerty keyboard so it was a bit hard to do the right keys 😭

On the first level you can shoot the boss even when he isn't on the screen yet. But great game overall good job!

Cool and really polished game. Good job! 🎉

I like that you can bait enemies by just turning around then get them.
