This is a small mod that overrides the minimap so it no longer pauses the game, and pulls out your flashlight to see it. Making it a little more of a tough decision to check your map when you're far from home as you're draining energy.

I feel like this should add some extra tension to night runs as you can't rely on the map pause for navigation.

The difficulty is definitely up there, and yeah not super clear what you have active/ what you can spend but the idea is really cool

Relaxing, bit hard to know when it's over. Being able to revisit cards and maybe a little more priming on what the experience is (kinda like a museum) would be cool

Really solid gameplay, sound was good and a pretty fun mashup of two different genres

Yeah, you can bug it sometimes if you jump at the right time and that was kinda satisfying. Definitely sacrificed some gameplay for the rest haha. Thank you

there was a ton of stuff I couldn't get to, though it doesn't restart unless you tap I think but yeah not super obvious,

That's good feedback on the not stopping,  I kinda like how it encourages you to keep momentum, kinda like a negative to jumping/relying on bridges.

I just hacked together a version from what you suggested and tree surfing is definitely something. I'll bear what you said in mind for future jams, thanks :)

High score categories:

(spoilers on how below)

lowest distance & fastest time: 9883 & 46

furthest distance & most trees: 27592 & 31

Spoilers/tips below.

  • To get the shortest distance, abuse sitting on ledges
  • To get the fastest time, abuse the bug that moves you a little ahead when you use a ledge to get to the other side of the screen (the end platform is sitting just out of sight and I didn't fix that oops.)
  • Sometimes if you land too late the game will cruely make you watch as your forest crumbles into dust (oops)

thank you! It actually helped find a bug where the skulls would double up sometime. First time I've done something like that

Verry difficult but the idea is really good, and the art was fun and unique

Really well done, few control issues and the last level was a bit rough but really enjoyed it and definitely a good interpretation of the theme, thank you :)

It's really cool to see another construct project :D Fun!

Fun, definitely stressful and some of the layouts aren't super friendly, picking up the P was satisfying though

The sound design was really professional, definitely some quirks with the vortexes but the up/down dashes and button presses were really satisfying

This was really fun and unique, thank you :)

fun little game, got just around 472 on my second attempt. Definitely agree the hats were a funny touch

Definitely agree that there were some minor control/frustration issues but the actual gameplay is really solid and you can get a good rhythm going quickly. Really good execution :)

The transitions were solid and it sounded really good. Didn't feel like it'd be as responsive as it actually was initially, got to 71 :)

I like this, it was a little unclear at times but it had lots of interesting possibilities :)

Thank you, you too :)

Thanks!

Fun setup, definitely has a big difficulty curve. Had fun playing with switching the colors in time with the music, satisfying sounds :)

Really fun and fluid, did some ADHD tests recently and reminded me of that.  Got 92 and definitely fun to get a speed going. One of the funnest jam games I've ever played

Cool concept, could be fun with a bit more polish

Fun idea, managed to get over 200 from mashing the arrow keys :P

Really fun, I got like 27/301. Could be a little more responsive but really well executed otherwise

Didn't really understand it but I like the idea of making 2 player co-op game

Really fun take, the end was a little frustrating but definitely gave it quite a few goes

Oh no, I didn't even know that high was possible, awesome work D:

Thanks!

Thank you that means a lot! Just checked my screenshot and the highest I've got is 63, so very close :P.

This is a cool base idea, I liked watching the young chickens go off and live their best lives

Like the interpretation, though I feel like the light speed aspect could have played into things more. Having Y-axis movement too could have been cool

Overall really well presented, hit a few bugs but this was satisfying for how simple it was, music and audio was great

Simple and fun take, the low res graphics are cool

Really like the interpretation, fun idea, bit difficult and a little slow to ramp up / hard to skip but looks great

Interesting take, some of the timings were a little too difficult but was fun

Fun concept, very stressful sound / graphics so Good Job

Fun concept, other than better communication of how it works it's fun and easy to understand

Hey running a bit slow in web mode on edge atm

Neat, didn't expect it to actually work!
