Thanks for the detailed feedback! These suggestions are very handy for the game feel, especially the UI and Star indicator. We thought it would be nice if the player always orbited the star, so they could just hold the down key to head towards it, but that probably isn't intuitive enough so we might try and improve that. Physics wise, I definitely get where you're coming from with the star and chunk friction. I actually increased the friction specifically for chunks to prevent the player from just slingshotting them into the star, because I thought getting close to the star was part of the challenge, but if it's more fun to also slingshot then we can definitely consider reducing that stopping force.

I'm very happy to hear all of these critiques, and we'll try and improve the game whenever we can. Thanks for checking out our game! :D

Yep, I felt the exact same about our game. Really wanted people to get to the end to see that cutscene, but also knew that some might give up due to the challenge. But then, if you make the game too easy, people will get bored of it. It's a hard balance to strike haha

Wow, really creative! Any games that include bullet ricochet mechanics are automatically fun, and this one really takes advantage of that :D. I've never felt more like an eco-terrorist in my life, and I love it. Great game for pulling some badass moves. Amazing work!+

Didn't expect to see a horror game here! Was pleasantly surprised, and it did spook me a few times  ^^. The ending cutscene was really beautiful aswell - awesome job!

Thanks for the lovely comment! It's great to hear you enjoyed the physics, that was definitely fun to figure out. The balancing is definitely something we want to spend more time on, possible by adding more content and things to do as you explore space, but I'm really happy you enjoyed the game for what it is so far! Thanks for checking it out :D

Thanks for the nice feedback! I'm glad you liked the art and atmosphere we went for, but yeah, balancing the gameplay was something we struggled with a lot. It still might be quite difficult now, so easy mode is probably what I'd recommend if you weren't able to beat it. Also, interesting that it reminds you of Gripper. I've never heard of that game before but it's cool to see the similarities between our approaches. Once again, thanks for the comment and for checking out our game! :D

Glad you enjoyed! We had all of those ideas too during development, but decided to cut back and keep it a bit tighter so we could deliver a better experience. I actually played another submission which really reminded me of motherlode, but can't remember the name. We might end up using some of  your suggestions in an updated version of the game haha, there's really so much you can do with space, and especially the physics of it. Thanks for playing!

P.S. thanks for noticing the end cutscene, that's probably what I'm most proud of from this game :D

Glad you enjoyed the game and the atmosphere. I'm happy you stuck through the initial learning curve, because I will admit I'm not a fun of pure text tutorials as they don't really introduce the mechanics, but we didn't have enough time for a full tutorial. It's great you felt that feeling we were trying to build, and thanks for noticing the shader too haha. Thanks for playing!

Yeah sorry about that! We'll definitely try and update the UI in the future to make it more compatible. Thanks for checking it out anyways :)

Wow what a cool game! The style is so unique and the gameplay is incredibly engaging. I really liked the fact that it wasn't too easy (I say that when I couldn't even make it too far myself hahaha). Great job :)

This game had a great atmosphere. It may have been short but it did a good job of building tension with the creepy art and music. Amazing submission! :D

What an addicting, simple, and engaging game. It's easy to understand and intuitive from the get go. Great job blending it with the theme! :D

What a neat idea! Fun puzzle game with a relaxing atmosphere. Great job :)

Glad you enjoyed! We were going for a deep space vibe with tinges of horror, and we're glad we hit it haha. Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!

This  game is so light hearted and silly, I love it. Seeing the different flower effects and the variety of customers was great. The gameplay does get a little repetitive, but overall, I quite liked it! The art was pretty good (You need to be careful about inconsistent pixel sizes between background and characters), and the music was relaxing. Great job! :D

What a nice, cozy puzzle game! This was a great submission fitting with the theme, and it has easy to understand mechanics while providing a nice gameplay loop. I do think the audio and visuals could use a bit of an overhaul, as it felt a bit cluttered to me at times, but other than that, great job :)

Cool entry! Like most of the other commentors have said, I had quite an issue with the controls, where they really just were not natural to get the hang  of, but other than that, the gameplay loop is fun and enjoyable! Great work :)

Really cozy game :). It took me a few rounds to understand it but I managed to get it on my 3rd run. 280 points! Is that good? I hope so. Anyways, there's so much polish, the ambience and music is lovely, and the design of this game while sometimes frustrating, is quite rewarding. Maybe a bit more player agency would be nice? Such as being able to swap up to two things on every card? Either way, this was a great game. Well done!

What a simple, yet fun experience. It's short and challenging, and while the enemies did pull a few moves that left me more frustrated than engaged, I liked it. Well done! :D

What a cute fun platformer! Very polished, and a simple idea executed well. Doesn't tie into the theme too much, but I liked it :)

Really cool game! Got a bit sucked in and played for around an hour, but I do have a bit of feedback.

1. In story mode, I literally have no idea what the characters are talking about. Like, I get making their dialogue cryptic to add to the immersion and worldbuilding, but this dialogue is so obscure without much buildup of the characters or world, I really don't know what they are yapping about. Ended up sklpping through most if on my next runs.

2. Now, about the gameplay itself. Very cool, but I think the crafting system needs to be more explained and have more breathing room for the player. I think you could do this by, firstly, as the other commenter said, make it more visual, and secondly, show how much genesis, will, and bright each one is worth before I have to commit to crafting it.

3. Bright needs more. Maybe I just didn't find the right items to craft, but bright really needs to be buffed. Most of my runs ended because, no matter how hard I tried, I just could not get enough bright.

And that's about the end of my constructive criticism. Putting all of that aside, wondrous game, absolutely beautiful. I am so impressed by the art and design, and that this was all made in one week! Great job all around, I probably would play this more in the future with a few updates (and a more easily digestible story haha)

Fun game! I think it's a bit on the nose with the dialogue, but the card effects were fun. The combat system was simplistic yet complex enough to keep me engaged, and the art was nice to look at (Though I do think the pixel sizes between the characters and the background was inconsistent). Game is responsive and very polished, but unfortunately when I got halfway through the student council fight, the game froze :( Kinda bummed about that because I wanted to play more. Either way, great submission!

What a cute, fun game! It was really nice and enjoyable to play, though a tad bit short. I feel like the exploration is a little bit unintuitive, as there was a small bit of backtracking which could have been delegated to a hidden shortcut back to the main area. Other than that, the ending cutscene was really cool. Well done :)

Cool game! I really liked the combat, it felt crunchy and satisfying, but the sound design definitely started to become a bit annoying at the end (Ooo aaa eee!). The gameplay is fun but it does get repetitive a bit quickly, though overall I think it was a well-put together experience! Great work :)

Thanks for the review! Yeah this is some helpful feedback about the UI. We definitely will put more thought into it after the jam, but putting that aside, I’m very glad that you enjoyed the gameplay experience and had a pleasant time with it! Thanks for playing :)

Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m so happy you enjoyed the atmosphere of the game, and it means a lot you noticed the effort we did to make things look a bit more spicy with just black and white. I appreciate you trying it out a bit more, and I’m glad you had a good player experience :D Thanks for playing!

Hey! What a neat game. I really liked the spelunky dome-keeper esque vibes going on, though I do think the gameplay loop is quite grindy. The music was chill and the art was simplistic, leading to a nice overall experience where one can relax and enjoy the gameplay ;). I think a bit more polish and a few balance tweaks could turn this into something really great. Like, for instance, a few more sound effects here and there would be nice. Great submission!

When I first booted up this game I really thought that you just completely broke the rules, but after taking a few screenshots and realising each one was only two colours, this blew my mind. Really creative workaround to the limitation of the jam. There isn't much going on gameplay wise, but technically this is really impressive. Awesome work!

Wow, so I just tried out this game and it's pretty fun! I do agree with the other comment that a web build would have been nice to get this to more people, but oh well, there are some technical issues that can't be fixed in such a short time.

I thought the gameplay was pretty fun! It does get hard after a while but still stays balanced, and I really like the blue trail behind the bee. There's a fair amount of polish, but I do have a suggestion. The music to this game is really nice, and the most fun I had with it was when I tried to time collecting the flowers to the music. This little sub challenge made it feel so much more satisfying, so I think you should try and take this down the rhythm game route if you feel like updating it some more. Other than that, the game was short and sweet. Great work!

Thank you so much for the kind words! It means a lot that you enjoyed the experience so much :). The whole team did a great job, and I'm very happy that people seem to like our game. Thanks for playing!

This was such a nice review! Thank you so much for playing our game :). I’m really happy you enjoyed it, and as someone also crazy about space themes, happy I found someone else into that stuff haha. I’m glad you enjoyed the unique take we took on the theme. I was afraid people might be put off by it but it seems like it provides a good bit of fun.

(Also I definitely flew into the star a few times myself when playtesting. Kinda embarrassing considering I coded the darn thing bwahaha)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm very happy you enjoyed the game, and it's good to hear that the difficulty doesn't become too overwhelming. Your feedback is also very helpful, it would be nicer to get right into the game rather than having to sit through the tutorial. We'll keep that in mind. Thanks for playing our game! :D

Hey! So I really tried getting into this game, but unfortunately I just couldn't figure out what the customers were asking for aha. That's probably on me, but I just couldn't tell when the flowers I was growing matched the customer's little bubble. Also sometimes my flowers would just vanish into thin air when I dragged them, but I'm sure that's a bug that you can fix in no time. Overall I really liked the variety of the snail customers and the atmosphere of the game, it's so cozy. My one suggestion would be to make it more intuitive so players can guess more easily what the customer wants and what stage the flowers are at. Other than that, great work :)

Cool game! I really like the atmosphere, but I do have some critiques about the gameplay. I definitely think zooming out the camera more would help alot so the player has a better idea of where to go, rather than feeling out the levels through trial and error. Other than that, I think it was a pretty solid entry! Great work :D

P.S. I really like the art of the game over screen, it's just so cute ^^

Thanks for the feedback! For going back to the star, we thought the sort of "radial" controller we have would be adequate because the player always orbits around the star and whenever you go down it takes you there, but maybe we can try and indicate that better. Glad you enjoyed the visuals!

I'm really happy you enjoyed the game! It's definitely been a fun project to work on, so we might see if we can take it further afterwards. And it's great you enjoyed the atmosphere. space has definitely been a fun thing to work around haha

Interesting game! A bit underdeveloped, but I thought it was all right :). The boss fight at the end is very cool

Great game! It seems simple on the surface but the dynamics of all the plants layer to great a complex strategic experience. I did find a few issues with the balancing and such, and also the other seed sprouting areas on the map seemed kind of useless to me as I always stuck by home base, but this was still very fun. Also, that sunflower power up effect kind of blasted my ears lmao. Great game and a worthy submission!

So, this game has a very neato concept. Plants vs. zombies but more roguelike and intense. The game has a good amount of complexity to it, but I feel like the difficulty is a bit off the charts. Rather than having an inflated health bar, I would like to see more money coming in, because by god I was barely getting anything. Like, I would have loved to see the bamboo cannon  but kept dying before I could afford it :(. The idea is nice, I do just think the difficulty needs to be tuned down a small bit and the coin drop rate needs to be tuned up a big bit.

Still, great submission to the jam! This is one of the more fun games I've seen so far :)

Thanks for the review! Yeah, we really need to post a disclaimer about the UI lol. It was a very botched job where we manually set the resolution for some stuff, but we will try and fix it in the future. I'm really happy you enjoyed the game, and balancing the difficulty was a challenge but I'm glad we got it right (if you made it to the end that is).
