Hey, really nice game! I played through it all the way through.

The evil creep progress bar at the bottom is kind of hard to see, I think if it was a bit bigger and had a number that showed how many good tiles were left would be nice. It would also help with replay-ability cause you could try to come up with a strategy to stop the corrupt tiles from spreading in different more efficient ways.

Also when I know I messed up it would have been nice to have a restart option menu item rather than be forced to wait and watch my plans go to ruin in real time. I know I could also go back to main menu and back into the level, but that felt like a bit of a pain too.

Other than those items I think you got a tight little game here, great job for only 2 weeks. Best of luck in the Jam!

I got the wizard, although i feel bad, i pushed a cow up in his face and had him tank for me while i jumped out and hit the wizard in between. I know im shameless....

Nice job, fun little mini game!

Hi, thanks for the feedback and its very high praise from someone who writes music that you liked it.

I agree, I think my mixing on the drums was off especially for a rhythm game that only has down beats implemented, I needed to make the kick and the snare pop more and have the other parts of the beat fade out to keep you focused on the right aspects. As well as some kind of visual indicator whether you were early or late as others have mentioned.

That is cool that you write music. I will take a look at your profile on itch, but also feel free to link me anything you are wanting to share back on this thread.

Thanks very much for playing!

Have a great day.

Absolutely love the old school arcade style and vibe. I liked to imagine that the trucks are being driven by Jack Burton and Lincoln Hawk. The blue one is definitely the Pork Chop Express.

Its no surprise that you like rhythm games cause you got some musical talent, such a funny idea and concept and a great execution all around.

Nice job!

Hi Zahkros,

You know, there could be a bug with my initial input allocation, IDK, i will definitely look into this. I think once I add some early/late visual indicator it might help me see if there is something going on with the first input.

Thanks for the thoughtful and detailed feedback. I will give your game a try next!

Thanks so much, I wrote the song 2 days before the jam ended and then integrated everything the day before. I was really cutting it close!

Agree 100% there needs to be better indicators for whether your timing is early or late. I will definitely add this.

Right back at ya, you made a really clever fun game, it turned out great.

Thank you for the feedback and encouragement, it really means a lot.

Really fun idea! Once I calmed down a little and played a little slower I really got into the feel of it.

My only question, the guy who put all these minds in this pond really has a problem, THE GALL! Just trying to float a paper boat here and BOOM!

MAN! when you said you liked a challenge on my game its no wonder! I was running around frantically with my heart pumping in this one. I really like your game design and the animations are also really fun. The only thing that could have been making me feel like i was letting down the mayor more would be a fire alarm going off. LOL. Really great job.

Really appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed the challenge. You gave me some good things to add. I agree completely!

I will give your game a try and leave a comment on yours as well.

Thanks!

I'm glad you had fun!

It was a marathon to make it but its nice to see so many people have a good time, makes it all worth it for sure!

Really nice for 2 weeks! got a good vibe between the art and the music.

yep, same with me, getting big unity error message on the second level, looks like a fun concept though.

Tried to play 4 times, keeps crashing on the second level with a big unity error message.

Looks like you were going for a Portals 2 type mechanic with orange and blue paint. Should be fun if you get it more playable. Good luck with your project.

I havent tried them all and probably wont be able to so i am sure there are many gems out there, but I thought this one had a really nice art style and it felt pretty complete visually for only 2 weeks of work. The team must have been "on fire".

Hey, I watched it for a bit and I can see how disheartening it would be to spend time working on something for 2 weeks and then see someone tear it apart. We put our hearts out there in making these and so its definitely not easy to get harsh feedback.

I have never seen his channel before, however, its called ExcessiveProfanity so i think its kind of his thing to be very blunt and share his feelings with straight up no filter. If he ends up reviewing my game the same way (its a rhythm game) because he hates them, i think i would feel pretty bad, but i would also understand if someone hates rhythm games how they might find it difficult to say something nice about it.

Anyway, i think you guys proved you can work hard on an idea and put out something as a team, this is the most valuable part of the Game Jam, building confidence in your ability to execute and get better. Your game looked like it was well put together and did exactly what I would expect to see in a clicker genre.

Last point, you say and your dev says in the stream that you guys don't really like Clicker games, so can you be surprised that another game dev doesnt like it either?
I think this might be the biggest take away, if you are making something that you yourself wouldn't like then maybe you should consider making something else?

Anyway, congratulations to you and your team on making it to the finish line, wishing you guys the best of luck and success, don't sweat this one, its just a bump in the road. The Future is Bright, keep on grinding!

So frustrating at first then you start flyin'. Nice Job, i like the clever use of simple game mechanics.

super fun, had a bit of a hard time my first 2 runs because i could not find any more syringes at all, but on my 3rd run i kept finding them and got pretty far. Thats RNG for you!

love the art, you guys did a super awesome job on this!

Thanks! On the beats not working, i would try putting it on "Easier Mode" and trust your beat instinct more than the animations, especially when the firemen change distance spacing's it can throw you off since the bucket moves at a different speed to make its target on time.

For the full screen, yeah, i see what you mean, it doesn't take up all the real estate it can and remains at its native 1024x768 render size, ill take a look at that.

I appreciate the bug report and the feedback, best of luck in the jam!

Great ideas, I would love to keep refining this game and make it more of a full game experience. The very next thing on my plate that I ran outta time for was adding a early or late indicator, so your instinct is spot on.

As for mixing it up music wise, i had some logic to do half and quarter beats as well but i had to rip it out due to time constraints. I have a few more songs I will definitely add to this that i created prior to the game jam, but i couldn't use them to start since we are not allowed to use premade assets. So I wrote this one like 3 days before the jam ended, before that i was just coding it all to a click track. Those 2 weeks flew by for me!

Thanks so much for playing and also for the thoughtful feedback!

Thanks very much! I wanted to do so much more in this same vein where the music continues to build based on how good you are doing. I was fighting with timing and input controls but i got a lot of that sorted out. Definitely will be adding more stuff like you are suggesting to my games, if not to this one if enough people like the idea. Anyway, I appreciate your comments!

Really really great, art is absolutely amazing for a 2 week rush job. Nicely done!

Love the music, love the guns. I think it starts to get a little rough when you kill a lot of enemies at once and the zones are all overlapping cause you will get into a situation where you can really move, at least thats what happened to me.

Really great job though!

I'm glad you noticed, that was a last minute addition before the deadline, it plays up and down the key scale for the song.

Thanks for the positive feedback! It really brightens my day to know people are having fun with it 😄.

I really liked your main character animation!

Hey, thanks for giving it a try! I had only the normal difficulty to start but i started getting some conflicting feedback from people that it was either too easy or too hard so i just decided to make it players choice.

Good luck in the jam, I'm sure we will see each other around in the discord.

hey, thanks for playing it. Yea, there are lots of performance issues in my engine that i want to fix. Thanks for letting me know!

mine is 5120x1440, its unusual for sure.

Yeah,  when I would turn around it would get choppy and I would overturn so i was constantly adjusting. I was playing with the keyboard, I didn't try controller.

I couldn't beat the first level, it looked like i had one red guy i could never find.

Hope this helps!

I got grade C, haha i lost patience with getting so many followers once i realized i could charm the guards with my dance moves.

My own personal theory as to why Dance Mania occurred in the past is because some genius of phat beats was making music so sick we can only imagine and people just couldnt help themselves.

HAHAH! really fun game idea and nice job sticking with the project and getting something playable end to end!

Im a sucker for slimes, love the art, really fun little prototype. Nicely done!

Tried out your game, i like the style, reminds me of "the legend of bumbo" by Edmund McMillen. Nice work, keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback my man!

Yeah, I agree, I kept playing around with the timing on the hand-off but it does feel slightly off still, so its to know others feel it too. When it doubt trust your internal timing not the visual hand off. Also thanks for the encouragement, and same to to you!

I just checked out your game and will leave a comment on your submission page.

Hey, Thanks! You might have been on Mobile Mode in the top right on the start screen? That is what allows you to do beats only and not worry about the direction, if you choose keyboard mode on the left it should offer a better challenge.

I appreciate your feedback, you are very kind!

Nice, love me some good bullet hell! feels like this is not your teams first rodeo, good luck in the Jam.

Hey, i tried your game out. Interesting idea, one thing i was confused about was which robot was alive and which one was dead, if there is a visual cue of some kind i didnt notice it. I got stuck on the 3rd stage, it didnt seem to let me put the last piece in even though the others were green.

Hey Guy, you did a great job on this. All your hard work since 2021 is really paying off in the details. For 2 weeks of work this feels super nice.

I really like the concept of switching up the tracks/rows, it really does keep you on your toes, but i also found it a little overwhelming. Maybe its just me but it felt like my brain couldnt rewire up in time.

Love that you were trying out something new!

Ialso submitted a rhythm game so its cool to see someone else make a submission in this fine and under-appreciated Genre!

Your main character animation frames are really great. I can tell you put a lot of time into it. I was missing some kind of progress bars or indicators, the numbers in the top left while ok i think its a bit of an information overload and kind of muddles the games objective.

Great job for your first game jam though.
