- Great game! The only suggestion I have is probably something you just didn't have time to include, and that would be an in-game tutorial. That's about it! I'd love to see this game expanded upon with more animations and mechanics! Great job!

Start and spread a cult in preparation for the coming of your god! Rise of the Cult is a short turn-based strategy game where you try to accrue a large number of converts. Commit various action in different regions of the city to start the spread of your faith, but watch out for the obstacles the city's government places in your path.
Controls
Keys 1 -7 : Quick Action Select
W : Select Previous Action
S : Select Next Action
Mouse 1: Interact
Esc: Quit & Volume
How to Play
Goal: Reach 800 converts to satisfy your god!
Converts - Convert citizens through influence. Each region only has 200 people you can convert.
Influence - Each turn regions gain converts equal to your influence
Wealth - Each turn gain money equal to wealth times converts in a region
Money - Use to commit impactful actions or avoid dangers
Notoriety - Gained as you commit actions. The more you have, the stronger the obstacles you'll face
After selecting an action, click on a region to use that action there and skip forward a certain amount of days. Different actions skip different amount of days. You'll still accrue resources during those days but the chance of an obstacle occurring might increase.

Beautiful artwork! I liked the music too, took like 6 runs to understand what is happening. There was something that confused me tho - preaching did not specify that it gives you followers, but it did give everytime I clicked on different places. Being lucky with the toast event helped a lot to win the game xd. Good entry!
Also a retry button would be great :) I always have to refresh the page to try again now.
Thank you for your input! Its true that there is a lot to improve on regarding introducing the mechanics to you and others. This jam was a valuable learning experience for our group.
the artwork is amazing, very nice color palette and pixel art. would love some tutorial, I was not able to figure out how to make the actions work or what should happen really once I clicked on the buildings (are those the regions?) pls help me (and I guess others) with this, I'm curious how this game plays
Wow thank you for the compliment. I actually consider myself to be a beginner still so would not be able to do any tutorials just yet.
Regarding how to play, using W and S keys will allow you to cycle the actions. After that just click on a building(also known as region) that you would like that action to be enacted on. Each actions cost a certain amount of days(represented by a timeline on the top left of the screen) and resource. After clicking on a building/ region, you should see the region's stats update and see the amount of follower(represented by the white silhouette person icon in the black panel of the region) you get per turn for that region. The goal is to reach 800 followers before the timeline reaches the end(lose state).
This game has a lot of polish and content! I wasn't very good at it, but I enjoyed giving it my best. Some of the UI dialogs are a bit hard to read.
Thank you for giving a try! Agreed that the UI is a bit hard to read, we will work to make it more clear next time!
Love the game, the art and the concept- but I couldn't play it because the UI didn't scale to my screen size or browser viewport.
Same for me, it was just too small to see what was going on.
The game art looks very appealing and the concept is solid though.
Thank you both for the kind words! Very sorry y'all had that issue with the UI. Can I ask what resolution your screens are to catch that next time?
mine is 5120x1440, its unusual for sure.
Hey that's all good! Weird or not if I were you I'd want things to work with my peripherals. Thanks for sharing, I'll look into why it ended up being too small so I can make it work next time
The presentation and audio were fire.
Thanks!
Thank you, we're glad you liked it :^]
