Sorry I didn't catch this sooner! My idea fell through and I got busy, so I ended up pulling out of the jam.
Will absolutely keep you in mind for the future though! I appreciate your interest.
Hi, I'm a game developer that works primarily in Construct 3.
I have an idea for a horror style game for this Jam and would be forever grateful if an Artist and / or Audio Designer would be willing to help me accomplish this goal.
The game concept is really small scale, so either position would likely have very little to do. So whether you're newer to this, or a veteran, your work load would be perfectly manageable and your help appreciated.
About me.
Hey, I'm a 2D game programmer working primarily in Construct 3. I studies Game's Design in College for 3 years, and currently do casual Gamedev as a hobby.
What I need from you.
I'd like an artist capable of making some top-down sprites & animations. Style will be minimalistic, pixel art, and we can attempt to make as few sprites as possible to lessen your work load!
Why team with me?
I believe in us! and I think we could make an excellent game together. If you want to know what you're getting into, and who you're dealing with, take a moment to check out a couple of my games! (The good ones, please... not the flops)
Hello! I am a Game Designer working primarily in Construct 3, I have been studying and making Games for around 5 Years and am well versed in design philosophy, so while I may not use the most advanced of tools out there... I have the creative visions to make up for it!
I am looking to build a team of individuals to aid in the creation of my Game. I would need both an Artist as well as a Composer.
For the Art, I would like to conform to the 4 Colour Palette diversifier for both simplicity, and to make the game stand out amongst the others. I would also like to aim for an 8x8 Resolution for each of the assets. Again, for simplicity, though I do love that retro style!
As for a Composer, I feel that I would only need a couple tracks (Menu & In Game), however a few other Jingles could also liven things up! (Such as an end-of-level Jingle). To fit in with the style / theming of the rest of the game, I'd also like it if the music sounded Chiptune or just Generally Retro, but this is not required.
With that said, I hope I've piqued your interest and look forward to potentially working with some awesome people!
Hello! I took a look at your stuff and needless to say I'm a fan, I'd love to collaborate with you on this Jam if you're still looking for a partner!
For some BG, I'm a Game Designer that works Primarily in Construct 3, I've been studying Game Design for about 5 years and I'm a mediocre pixel artist at best- but I get by! I have an awesome idea for this Jam and I think your talents are just what I need to bring it to life! I'll spill the details if we get to work together ;D
I'll look forward to potentially working with you!
Hello, I am a former Game's Design student who primarily works in Construct 3, currently in the process of learning Godot, with a keen interest in the Design and UX aspects of Game Development.
For this Jam, I have what I consider to be an awesome idea! Though in order to fully accomplish my vision, I would need some custom art assets, and I'm not much of an Artist myself.
If you're interested, you may add me on Discord (screamsmoke) and we can go from there!
I already came up with an idea for a Metroidvania game with someone else during another jam, though that idea was unfortunately scrapped. But I want to bring it to life! It's an awesome idea, and it has opportunity to be worked on past submission.
Only issue is, I'm not that great an artist, so it would be nice to have a little help in making these assets. The jam is a month long so it's not like I'm starved for time, but every little does help!
Music and SFX I'm not as worried about, but I wouldn't mind the help, plus you'd get your name on the project so it'd be a win-win for all parties involved.
If you're interested in joining my team, add me on discord: SmokeScream#8731
Hi! I am a Pixel Artist + Programmer, and as much as I would love to do this jam alone I have a real problem finishing things, which is why I want to team! I did about a years worth of college on programming in Construct 3 so trust I know what I'm doing well enough to make a small game.
If you're interested, my discord is: SmokeScreamSPM#873
I may as well put myself down for game designer. Here's a bunch of game ideas I came up with for a few themes from recent game jams:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mWGsB9Vfp6SY2mCamSCtXK5nXnYdAKIxqE0SeInqN1E/...
I also program in Construct 3, so if you need prototypes for some ideas I can do that for you too. If you want me in your team, my discord is: SmokeScreamGD#8731
Hiya, thanks for taking interest in my topic and coming here to read about it!
I am a Programmer currently undergoing a large project in my games-related college course, and during the week that this Jam is running for I will be participating in another Jam that starts the same day as this one but only lasting around 3 days (ScoreSpace Jam), as-well-as attending college from Tuesday to Friday.
I am looking to get an Artist and Sound/Music designer under my wing and help out with this Jam, due to my busy schedule solo jamming is out of the question. So if you're interested, please message me one discord: SmokeScreamGD#8731
Once a team is assembled, we can go over each others respective schedules for the week and plan accordingly, then once the Jam starts we can brainstorm together then. I look forward to working with you! :)
I love the idea, however I do have a couple things I dislike.
- The fact that you need to be at a certain progression in order to access certain things in the level makes trying to go as far as you can with your current state less exciting, maybe adding some checkpoints could fix this.
- You are able to die at the first spike until you have every bit of progression done, and it doesn't feel at all rewarding. Maybe start the player out without any threats and force them to complete a small challenge to get access to a spike? Or even destroy spikes after they've already been hit.
Otherwise, very cool! :)
I've worked alone for every project I've worked on thus far, with only one having been completed (on deadline) for a jam, albeit with a lot of lingering bugs I had to fix.
I'm a pretty low-tier game dev and I work in construct 3, I intend on creating the best game I possibly can with the time restriction, and some help would gladly be appreciated.
You can help with Music, SFX, Art, anything, though I'll be handling all the code. (You don't have to help with everything, even if you just make a few sprites and a song or two I'd be eternally grateful)
I'm not the best with TEAM management so if I get any replies on this I'll probably pick one person, so lemme know what you're down to help with.
My discord is [ SmokeScreamGD#8731 ] - I'll be sure to check any and all responses once the theme is released in 5 hours from now :)
Hi, I shot you a message on discord. But rather than waiting for the request to be accepted to type this out I may as well say it as I'm thinking about it.
First off, I have a lot on my plate right now, this month I'm taking on 3 major game jams (Brackeys, Wowie and this one) as well as preparing a Major project for my game development college course, so if I have some difficulty getting back to you at any point do not worry, I'll get there.
Anyways, I'm looking for some SNES-type Music for my game, we can talk in more detail about it at a later date if you're interested.
There's a lot of time left before the deadline and I really think you should use it. I will list below everything i'd do differently:
- Make it more clear to the player it's a platformer, at first I tried to move as if it were a top-down game and fell to my death.
- Make the platforms more rigid, often times I would get stuck on the collision somehow and be carried to my death.
- Maybe a double jump? sometimes it felt like it was impossible to save myself or make a jump that I'd otherwise have made if there were a double jump.
Otherwise, very nice game especially considering the limitations! :)
