Awesome, looking good! Feels really good to play. Can't wait to see what you build out of this!

Thank you! That's a brilliant idea :D

Fun game! Finally managed to complete all levels with 6 resets (thank you for the hint on map 8 though, would have been stuck without it).

Really enjoyed the game. I love the art style, and the game matches the theme perfectly. The puzzles were difficult, but doable. The game felt quite polished as well.

Good job!

That was a really fun game! Seriously impressed that you guys managed to do it in such a short amount of time. I love the gameplay itself (and it definitely fits the game jam theme, since everything you do is connected; tiles upgrade based on what they're connected to). The art style is amazing, I love it. After reading some of the other reviews I discovered Doom Mode, and I couldn't stop laughing. 100% the best way to play the game!

You guys have a bright future ahead of you - if you could make this in such a short time, I'm excited to see what you guys will make in the future. Very impressive!

On a side note: I love that you guys also gave special thanks to the people involved in the description as well. It's a small thing, but very sweet. Someone being your rubber duck goes a long way, after all!

Disclaimer: I only tried the campaign as I didn't have anyone else to try the versus with.

Overall a very cute and fun game. RTS games are always a risky choice for a game jam due to the number of systems to build and consider, but I think you pulled it off quite well! Music fits the game really well, I love it. Art style is simplistic, but fits the game well. The game in all feels very well polished. Kind of reminds me of those flash games I used to play! Controls took a bit to get used to (but I suppose that goes for any RTS game though), but after a bit it started to feel very intuitive.

Pretty impressive result!

Very impressive given the amount of time available in the game jam!

The camera felt nice to use, and I liked how it rotated as events happened to focus on what was happening (e.g. climbing up a ladder). I liked the character animations, and the art style worked quite well with the gameplay.
The game also felt quite intuitive to play and well polished! Definitely incorporated the game jam theme well. The lantern bouncing off the walls felt quite nice to use (and satisfying when you bounce it off multiple walls to hit a lantern). Combat felt quite difficult, but that's not necessarily an issue.

I also liked that there were secrets to find (e.g. needing to backtrack to the first room after unlocking the lantern  to find the another relic piece). Also no idea if it was intentional or not, but I loved how the "mark of your success" was called Lost Relic Piece (in the Lost Relic Games game jam), was a nice touch.

Overall, I was very impressed by what you managed to do in so little time, and I think this could very well be the basis for something much bigger!

I like the concept! Only issues I had was that it was a bit dark (so I actually lost a gear on the ground), and that the physics allow you to glitch out gears a bit (e.g. while one gear was falling, I accidentally picked up a different gear, which sent the first gear flying off the screen and I had to restart). But it is a game jam, so these minor things aren't too important.
I loved the concept, and it matches the theme very nicely. The lighting and background hum of machinery creates a nice atmosphere.

Good job!

Really cool game! I love the dark aesthetic (and the music works well with it). Simple concept, but quite a clever puzzle game.  Very well polished, especially with how little time there was. Well done!

Seems like such a cool concept! I hope that you can continue it one day.

At the end of the day: You submitted something. Even if it's not everything you wanted to do, you should still be proud of yourself!

Very creative idea - the Case File/Pages is very unique and presents quite a fun challenge. I had a huge amount of fun in this game! The pacing also felt quite good - Week 1 was perfect for getting your feet wet, while Week 4 is very hectic, trying to get everything done in time (managed to complete week 3, failed week 4). Definitely becomes quite intense when you get 5 clues, all in binders hehe. The art style also suits the game very well, and I loved the music and sound effects too. Thank you for including the tutorial though - concept seemed confusing when I read the written description, but after doing it in the tutorial it all "clicked".

Overall, probably one of the most fun games I've tried in this jam!

Quite chaotic, but also quite fun. Was a little lost about what exactly to do, but after a while it grows on you. I like the concept! Good job.

(1 edit)

Finally managed to finish the game (took me a while to figure out how to beat each level), and had a lot of fun. I suck at puzzle games, but for some reason these puzzles didn't feel "frustrating", but rather challenging. It's hard to explain, but I usually give up fairly quickly on puzzle games, yet I happily played this one to the end. Definitely one of the harder games (and could definitely benefit from a tutorial, but I know how tight time is in these sort of jams).

Loved the simplistic art style, and the sound effects were great. Overall, I had a lot of fun! Good job on the game!
Edit: Typo

Very interesting take on the theme! I never would have thought to make a game out of the Trolley Problem, but you nailed it! Overall was quite fun. I like how you incorporated other challenges into the game as well (killers and zombies for example). The art style also looks quite cool!

Very good submission! The mechanics themselves feel very intuitive (even though I suck at these types of game), and am very glad that there is a tutorial in-game. The dialog is very humorous, and I like both the floaty effect of the text, as well as the fact that there is sound effects for the text. The sound effects in the game are also very satisfying (especially the "thump" when falling from great heights, and a simple screen shake). The art style is simple, but fits the game very well. All in all a very well made game!

Very impressive for your second game jam!

Thank you for taking the time to give such detailed feedback, I agree with all of it. This was still just a prototype (to see how far I could get in time), but next time I'd love to flesh it out a bit more and make a more "complete" game and give it some more love and attention.

Thank you :)

Thank you! That's exactly what I was aiming for in this jam.

Hi! Thank you :)

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for the suggestions, I'll definitely try to add those in when I make my next game.

Thank you! That is really good advice, I really appreciate it :D

That's a great idea! Thank you

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for the feedback - I definitely agree, having some kinds of sounds or effects on hitting the objects would have gone a long way. Ran out of time for it in this jam, but will definitely put more of a focus on it for the next game :D

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, that was the next thing I was going to implement before I ran out of time. I will make sure to work on player feedback more next time!

Thank you!

The audio clips were hilarious, I was not expecting them haha. Game was a bit (graphically) dark which made it harder to see what was going on, but wasn't too bad. Overall was quite fun, and definitely an interesting take on the "Connection" theme!

Thank you!

Such a cool idea! I had no idea such a thing was even possible using WebGL. I am impressed you managed to get it working in such a short amount of time too!

I love the idea of the game, very unique. The dialog leading you through the levels is a nice touch, and the fact that the different parts of the brain affects the gameplay was really cool (music cutting out if there's not enough hearing, not being able to see the points needed if the memory was too low, screen going dark is not enough vision etc).

Definitely matches the theme of the jam well!

Good job! Was quite a lot of fun to play. I love the idea of switching between different styles as the game progresses. I am impressed by how many mechanics you were able to add in in such a short period of time.

This is probably the most fun I've had in the jam so far! The game starts off fairly slowly, but before you know it you're frantically trying to fix problems all over the place (nothing like a power cut in the center part of your early graph of connections to throw your plans out the window). Once you get past the middle game (maybe 10 minutes in) you're usually not going to have any issues, but overall I felt the difficulty curve was spot on (you always feel like you're sitting on the edge of your chair, waiting for a new computer to spawn, but it always feels doable).

But for me what set the game apart from many others is that it felt polished: there was a detailed (and humorous) tutorial, the UI felt good to use, the art style was great (I loved the retro look), it matched the theme well. But most importantly, it just felt *good* to play, it was enjoyable.

Really good job! This is a game to be proud of.

Cute game! I had a lot of fun. Definitely quite difficult, even from the early levels, but quite fun. I love the art style used.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :D

Thank you!

I agree! Something I would have loved to do (but ran out of time) was to add some kind of difficulty menu to the game as well. Maybe an easier difficulty for starting out, or a more difficult one if the player wants a challenge - or similarly, if a person struggles solo but does well with a friend, or does well in solo but struggles with a friend, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the difficulty too.

Something I will definitely keep in mind for the next game jam!

Thank you! I'm glad the difficulty wasn't too harsh - it was tough to find a balance between giving people a chance to get used to the game, but also not get bored too quickly either.

Thank you! That is a really big compliment :D

Thank you!
