Fun idea, what could elevate the game is a more scaling difficulty, like the level changes to get more complex the longer you survive.

This game is utterly fantastic, if this could be turned into a full game I would buy it. Even just some more unique dialogue, and maybe a proper ending that involves the characters, and I would be so happy. 10/10 my favorite Jam submission so far.

Fun game, I got to max upgrade. wish it was longer!

Creative take on the theme

I enjoyed putting a bunch of ketchup and mustard on the plate

This game has a lot of potential, I think one change that could elevate the gameplay is lean into the deck building aspect. if you kept pieces forever until you used them, it would add a bit more strategy.

I placed many pits for mario

That least level was a real treat. Awesome game!

I enjoyed stomping him at the end

Although it took me awhile to figure out how to play, once I did the game was fun and the comically large spoon got a laugh out of me.

Surprising how fun it is considering it's simplicity. I'm definitely taking notes from this game.

Ha, It's really fun to see how other people invert the same game as you. Definitely a fun and creative take on cookie clicker for this jam, and I think it's cool that it's mechanically different while still sharing DNA with the original cookie clicker.

The game was mechanically and thematically very enjoying. Needing to completely restart when you lose does suck a little bit. Died on stage 6 wasn't compelled to go back, since experimenting with different methods would probably mean my death and another restart. If you changed that, it could make for a really fun game! Definitely continue working on this one past the Game Jam.

Creative Idea! I'd love to see this fleshed out, I think the game could really use an extra mechanic or two to highten stress/difficulty in a way that demands attention from the player. or alternatively it could lean into the zen experience of an infinite drive and add mechanics that revolve around player expression and creativity. a lot of ways to take this!

This is a fun interpretation of the theme! I actually had this same idea after starting to work on my own game, so it's awesome to see it be made. I imagine it's really difficult to make multiple games for a single entry, so it's an impressive submission even if the games are relatively simple.

I love the art and music! The opening cutscene is impressive, especially for a game jam.
The gameplay loop is promising, but a couple of changes/additions could really juice things up. 😉
A scoring system so that players can set benchmarks for themself would be good, and a way for skilled players to excede in the moment to moment gameplay is my favorite way of making games feel juicy. Perhaps something drops that isn't a frog that you want to catch instead of avoid, and that could enable skilled players to continue to be engaged once they feel comfortable avoiding the frogs.
All around, really cool game with wonderful art! If your team makes more games in future jams, I can't wait to play them.

"You really shouldn't mix those..."

Yeah, I'm probably going to need to update a bit regarding the UI for clarity, but the color combination is always what color is between the two combined on the color wheel. Any combination that doesn't have a color between them (for example, yellow and orange are next to eachother, so there is no color between them and it is an invalid combo) or alternatively, are an even spaces apart (like complimentary colors) are invalid.

This was an absolute blast, incredibly charming and creative

Wonderful game! I had the idea of doing gas + fire as an interpretation of the theme, but I couldn't think of a way to make it into a fun game. You guys did it well. Super good approach!

I wish I could have played it more, the mouse sensativity it a little strong and it doesn't work with a switch controller ):
I did watch my friend play it who has an xbox controller, looks like it would be a lot of fun with friends.

Protip, use the following username while playing:

Developer Note:
Getting long combos is important for getting high scores. To get long combos, a great strategy is to wait until your screen is full before trying to clear out potions. If waiting isn't your thing, you can fast forward by holding Right-Click!

The Game was pretty fun! I saw a comment that suggested to have the moons move faster the closer they are to earth, and I completely agree.

thanks! I know similar techniques are used in earthbound backgrounds, as well as how old games rendered water. It's cool to see it being used in a game jam

I also think it's funny/interesting how we both did the opposite idea for the jam.

This game was really well done! The music was a bit underwhelming, which is understandable for a Game Jam game. but if this game was polished up with more levels/ideas and a better soundtrack, it would be something I would buy and really enjoy.

Very polished game! It seems though, the best way to get a high score is to play it safe and wait it out. I think the game could feel a lot more hectic and fun if there was a stronger incentive to play riskier

Nice Game! I also liked the background effect you did, do you mind me asking how you did that?

Thanks for the feedback! I feel like I definitely want to come back and add some more stuff to it after the Jam

This was really fun! I genuinely enjoyed poking around in this one, which I can't say I enjoy doing a lot of the time when playing Jam Games. If there was a lot more here, I would definitely continue til I saw it all.

I liked how you played around with the window position

The camera rotation is fairly relevant to the second half of the game. if you haven't played through the whole thing I suggest it! it was pretty fun
