I'm glad you liked it! The controls are definitely something I need to fix after the jam is over, and I'll make sure to add in those arrow keys for a fellow left-hander.

Thank you! As for level 2, whenever it plays a little beep sound effect and the lungs flash yellow, you have to press R to regain the oxygen you are slowly losing (losing all of it restarts the level).

Thanks, the time constraint was a bit daunting. I never really thought about the inventory after I set it to F, the mouse attachment is an issue I'm hearing about for the first time and I'll look into it. You have to press R to breathe whenever the lungs flash yellow, pressing it late will cause you to lose oxygen. As for finishing the level, take out the target, pick up the body with E, stand next to the door, and press E to open it to go to the next level. My tutorial this time around was lackluster and the controls are a bit confusing, sorry.

Pick up the target's body after you shoot him with E, then use E on the door (when standing right next to it) to progress. (The game's controls have since been updated)

The game is a little unclear there. Pick up the target's body after you shoot him with E, then use E on the door (when standing right next to it) to progress. Glad you liked the art style and game idea. My love for Portal is still alive, and always will be.

I'll make sure to fix up the controls after this. Thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you liked the art!

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed what you could, and I know the difficulty is a little whack.

The "lungs" are a breathing mechanic, every second or so they will flash yellow and there will be an "R" in the corner to indicate that you must take in a breath with the R key, because you are slowly losing oxygen.

I wish I had added little popup menus to describe the mechanics, but oh well.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the core of the game! Sadly music couldn't be made fast enough.

Thank you to all who played this original (but very buggy) concept, I now have a post-jam version on my itch which fixes all the major bugs and adds some new features! You can check it out here: alph26.itch.io/tartarisk

You have to get to a certain round count in order to see weapon upgrades, otherwise it would be too overpowered. The post-jam version will have much more balancing, shop variety, and new content; I'll add the dash option, and I'll make the cooldowns for weapons faster. Thanks for playing!

Great game! The inverted segment was a little dubious.

Thanks. I'm incorporating all the feedback from here into the Post Jam version. Which you can check out now with the fixes!

That was very tense. I somehow beat it first try though. Good game.

Perhaps in the post-jam version I am working on, we'll see.

Fixed! Do make sure you aren't cancelling your velocity by moving the opposite direction while dashing though.

Hey! My game is called Tartarisk: Every enemy you kill for upgrade money will come back next time for revenge. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-14/rate/3834370

This reminds me of Super Hot combat. Awesome.

I got so far.. but had to stop. 10/10

$600. This is very fun. Maybe a change to the camera angle would suit this better.

My game for the jam is called Tartarisk. If you like Roguelite Shoot'em ups check it out!

I guess we both wanted to make a Roguelite. Good job, this game is fun.

Pretty fun. I experienced a glitch where the die landed on the heart and jiggled around the plate for a while, stopping the gameplay.

Very fun game, but I guess gambling always is. The visuals are top-tier.

I'd also buy a full version; you've got something good going on here.
