This is fab! I would love this as a proper Android app.

Thanks for that, I was wondering what the issue was!

I'm new to Ruby, can anyone recommend a good guide to get me up and running with the language?

Thanks!

Hey there, I'm glad you know about GDevelop (http://compilgames.net/) as it is a fantastic piece of software and a worthy rival to Construct 2. Florian is a genius and I'm really excited to see where he takes GDevelop next.

Unfortunately, as amazing as Florian is, he did not create the assets used in the platformer template included in GDevelop. Those assets were created by Kenney and can be seen on his website (http://kenney.nl/) or alternatively, here on itch where he sells them as bundles - https://kenney.itch.io/.

I highly recommend Kenney's assets if you are (like me) a terrible artist! Even if you are pretty talented at art (or have someone on your team who is) they can still be brilliant for rapidly creating prototypes.

If you take another look at the description for my Platformer Template you'll see that I credit Kenney for creating the assets.

Thanks for your feedback!

I really enjoyed this game and I am sure I will return to it to try and complete it! Some really good level design, although a few of the levels you had to be prepared to die to suss it out. And on one I obviously got the chicken but it all happened so fast I'm not even sure where it was or how I got it! Maybe just a second or two lingering before shooting off to the next level would have helped? The music is a bit repetitive but not "I want to put spikes in my ears" bad, but I'm not sure it really fits with the GameBoy theme? But all in all a really good game.

Fixed!

Well done, sir. Now, crack on with making this game even more awesome!

Yep, I can confirm just running "vektor" works. Looks like itch need to change their app so it calls that file rather than vektor.x86_64. I used the "Send feedback" button so hopefully they will get it sorted.

Game is fantastic by the way! ;)

Will test that, but I am running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu (should have mentioned that originally) and launching the game through the itch app (probably should have mentioned that too!).

I'm using Ubuntu 17.04 and this error popped up when trying to launch the game:

An error occurred while launching VEKTOR 2089

Some required 64-bit libraries are missing: libSDL2_mixer-2.0.so.0

Any ideas?

Excellent videos, thanks for taking the time to make and post them!

Hi,

I'm interested in using Gladiabots with students in my school as a fun way to teach them about programming and algorithms. I would be planning on using it on up to 30 computers. How much would you expect to be paid for those sort of figures?

On another note, is there any possibility of an option to use a local multiplayer server?

Thanks!

(1 edit)

So I've been fiddling around with the Light and shadows demo and wanted to add controls to the plane so I could fly it around. Here's part of my script:

this.actor.moveOriented(0,0,0.1);

if (Sup.Input.isKeyDown("LEFT")) {

this.actor.rotate(new Sup.Math.Quaternion(0, 0, -0.01));

}

if (Sup.Input.isKeyDown("RIGHT")) {

this.actor.rotate(new Sup.Math.Quaternion(0, 0, 0.01));

}

if (Sup.Input.isKeyDown("UP")) {

this.actor.rotate(new Sup.Math.Quaternion(0.01,0,0))

}

if (Sup.Input.isKeyDown("DOWN")) {

this.actor.rotate(new Sup.Math.Quaternion(-0.01,0,0))

}

Now this all works up to a point. The plane rotates around and will fly up and down, but when the plane is rotated to say 90 degrees, pressing up still makes it go upwards, whereas I want it to go sideways. Like an actual plane would!

I've spent much of the day with the TypeScript API browser trying different things but still no joy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I've got to admit that I was kind of hoping you'd say "NO!" so I could justify purchasing Superpowers when you've said that the open source release is imminent. I know I should really be rewarding you guys for all your hard work, but I'm on a tight budget here!

When Superpowers becomes free, will the asset packs you've released so far be included, or are you keeping those just for supporters?
