Hey! Very simple and creative idea. I liked how it mimics the feel of a board game. That being said, perhaps some more and frequent variation would help to keep the players interest. I also ran into an issue where I would reach the end of the board before the next section would generate leading to the dice essentially rolling on nothing and then the level would pop in randomly. Overall great job!

Hey! That's super weird that you didn't see any monsters, we didn't run in to that bug specifically. As far as the dice, it's actually a much cruder option imo. I added collision detection on all of the numbers on the d20 to check if it was grounded, and each number has a value corresponding to the number on the opposite side. If that number was grounded it would return the value of the face up side. Very simple hacky way of doing it but it works.

Thank you very much! It's certainly far from a finished product but it was a lot of fun to make.

Super cute game! I absolutely loved it! Everyone on the team did a solid job. The art in particular was top notch! Excellent job and very fun!

Cool game! Kind of rage inducing in the best way. Very tight snappy controls. Was this made for LDJ50? I didn't see a link from the itch page to rate it, if you have the link I'd love to drop you a rating. To be fair though I did not play level 3 I got to right before the end of level 2 before my patience ran out.

This game was absolutely incredible! It got me So hooked! I couldn't stop playing it! I would love for this to be turned into a full fledge game. It was so addicting. The music was hypnotizing and the process of automating was so satisfying. The only thing I would say is that there were two objects, the 100 cost one and the one after that I couldn't quite figure out how they work, but I didn't need it to reach the end. Overall wonderful job! Personally, its the best game I've played this whole jam!

I totally understand how time limitations can effect those elements. The same thing happened with my game, I had to sacrifice finesse for functionality. You should be really proud though your game was so much fun and it had a lot of polish for a jam game. I'm excited to hear you're going to continue development on it! Also what program did you make the music in? Or were you actually playing the instruments for it?

I liked this game! Very creative! I'm not sure why the music didn't start playing until after I "lost" and then it reloaded itself and gave me a different ending, not sure if this was intentional but if it was I appreciated that I was able to experience two different endings (not sure if there's more.) I also enjoyed the art and of course the storytelling, great job!

I wanted to check out this game, but sadly I don't have godot so I'm unable to open it. If you upload a standalone version outside of the jam I would love to check it out!

Interesting game! I definitely feel it could be expanded more upon. Honestly I'm not sure if I got the ending, I just followed the instructions all the way until Sunday and that was it. Is that the end of the game? Anyways I enjoyed it and really liked the blur effect without the glasses. Also liked the VO!

This game looked interesting but unfortunately I was unable to get it to move beyond the opening screen. I tried it on both chrome and firefox but it just refused to move past that screen, idk if it was just me or an issue with my browser.

I liked this game! It was pretty fun and I liked your concept with the portals. The music was really good as well as the sfx. Others have already mentioned the UI bug so no need to bring it up again. I do think some type of health bar and some visual feedback would be helpful to the player so they know when they're hit. The controls were also a little "slippery" feeling, the player moved incredibly fast and built up momentum pretty quickly. Toning that down a bit might give the player a better sense of control. Overall though fun little game and great effort!

I love this game! What a neat take on the theme, a game jam within a game jam! I liked the typing minigame and would love for it to be expanded with the other aspects. I did run into a few bugs though when I was less than 15 energy I would pass out and if I hit space bar there would be two player sprites, one still performing the animation while the other was passed out. Also a few times hitting the space bar I was unable to break out of the animation so I had to hit it a few times. Overall though I loved this game! Really gives you the idea of what it's like to be in a game jam. Awesome artwork and music great job!

Thanks for brining this bug to my attention, sorry your ran into it and that it prevented you from playing my game. I'm hoping to push out a fix once the jam voting is over if you ever want to give it another shot. Thanks for trying again though I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for playing my game, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This game was super unique! I loved the idea behind it. It was the perfect amount of zaniness! There was definitely a high skill cap as others have mentioned, but it was still very fun. As other's have mentioned perhaps increasing the size of the buttons or decreasing how much you have to jump to activate each button would definitely help to curb some of the skill required to get far into the game. Overall great game though very unique!

I loved the graphics and the music. The grandma getting mad in the corner was hilarious. Interesting concept! I did have a bug where the sofa's got stuck to the player, both of them actually, when accidentally bumping into another object while holding down the space bar. Other than that nice little game!

I loved this game! It was super cute. The art was very charming and it was a unique take on the theme. Perhaps a little more explanation would have been beneficial as I wasn't exactly sure what was going on at some points, but I still managed to do well simply following what you had laid out in the planner. I loved this idea and I think this could be turned into a pretty cool mobile management game. Great job, especially for your first jam!

This was a super cute little game! I enjoyed beating up the alligators (or crocodiles?) I would have preferred if you could move up and down and still jumped up on the bar counter and the tables, instead of them acting as platforms, but other than that nice little game!

This was a very pulse pounding game! Just enough horror elements to keep me on edge. The AI for the creature was just engaging enough to give you a real sense of pressure. Although after awhile it became pretty easy to just kite the creature to a far edge of the map then rush back to finish the task. I feel like adding a little bit of behavioral variety would help make it a little less easy to game the creature. I also feel like perhaps a little less "in your face" UI with the interactable elements would be helpful, and perhaps if you didn't have to start from the beginning when you escape the creature would make it a little less frustrating on the player. I loved the art and the music. The VO was cool too. Overall awesome game!

This was a super cute game! Your dialogue was very funny and had a lot of personality. I did run into an issue where I moved the small table to the top right of the moving container (the right part of the room) and I was unable to move it again. The graphics were cute, I loved the little robot, he had more life than the human imo! I felt that if you could rotate the furniture this game would have a lot more puzzle solving opportunities. Overall good job!

Hey! I liked this game, I enjoyed the interpretation of the theme and there were nice little puzzle solving elements sprinkled throughout. From a technical perspective the mouse controls were a bit too sensitive for my taste, perhaps giving an option to change that would help. The player also seemed a little small compared to the rest of the objects in the room, and the interaction controls were just a tad bit wonky. The art direction was also a little off putting. I did however enjoy the VO for the letter and I though having the chest keep items was a nice little puzzle mechanic. Overall good job!

Incredible game! Super solid mechanics! Very creative and fun. I absolutely loved the graphics and the music. The music did stop playing for me too as others have mentioned. The puzzles were pretty easy, but had some nice little twists to it. I would absolutely love to see more! I did feel like it didn't quite fit the theme of "one room" however since there were different levels, but overall great game, I loved it!

I absolutely loved this idea! The graphics were charming, the music was perfect, and it was a fun little murder mystery. Granted I could not solve it even after finding the letter for the wife, but I still enjoyed it. I know the controls have been mentioned before, so I won't bring it up again, but there was quite a few crashes for me even outside of the known bug. Overall though, great game! I love the take on the theme super creative!

Hi! I enjoyed this game, it was definitely a little tricky with the movement at first. I felt like the sentinel thing was perhaps a little too adamant when it spotted you, and the camera would do wonky things if it hit me (or almost hit me). Some checkpoints would have helped tremendously, like starting over after you picked up the last object. Overall though great game! Very well done!

Hey! I absolutely loved this game! It got me hooked! I would say however that although the mechanics were solid, it felt a little unfair, as some of the wizard's attacks felt like no matter what you're going to get hit due to the movement speed of the player and the length of the dash. I also felt that the player would have benefited from some type of secondary attack, like a charge attack, or something that was slower but did more damage (so high risk, high reward). The graphics were charming and the music was absolutely on point! Absolutely great job! If you turned this into a mobile game that had different rooms with different wizards of varying difficulty I think you'd have a real hit on your hands!

Hey! I liked your game I thought it was a cool take on the theme. I'm glad you included a tutorial it was helpful and showed a lot of personality, however I didn't quite get what the point was of the red "x" that you could place. I also felt the controls were also a little bit unforgiving, but I really liked the vibe and music. Overall great job!

Oh no! Well that's not good! Thank you for trying my game and I'm sorry you encountered those bugs. Sadly the interaction bug has been encountered a few times, usually moving away from the Gameboy and moving back will solve it, if not others reported refreshing the game fixes it. As far as getting stuck midair, I haven't heard of that particular issue, was the player completely stuck mid air or had they landed and the animation was stuck?

Hi! Thanks for playing my game! Also thank you for taking the time to write out your feedback. There are definitely a few physics issues that I didn't have time to work out unfortunately. I've been seriously considering expanding on this outside of the jam and that will end up including a physics and input system overhaul as the systems I built were functional but definitely not performing the way I intended them too. I will most certainly take all of your feedback under advisement. In regards to the music, I completely understand what you're saying. Music is unfortunately not one of my strong suits and it was my first time using Bosco Ceoil so I had a bit of a learning curve which ended up taking too much time to make the little tune you heard in game. I had intended to have a short little track looping for each different cartridge to further solidify the idea that they were different "games" but time got away from me. Anyways thanks again for playing my game and for all your feedback!

Thank you so much for playing my game! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your positive feedback! That's interesting about the double jump, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I haven't heard of that particular bug, may I ask what browser you were playing in? I've noticed the WebGL build has had some odd bugs that weren't present in my standalone builds.

Thank you for playing my game! I've actually been heavily considering expanding on this game outside of the jam, and that would definitely include an overhaul of the physics and the input system. Although they were functional they didn't quite have the feel I wanted them to have. Thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed playing it!

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I really appreciate the compliments and I'm glad you enjoyed my game so much!

Hello! Thank you so much for playing my game! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Based off of the feedback I've been getting here, I'm heavily considering continuing development on this outside of the jam luckily my level building system is pretty modular so it's easy for me to design new levels. I've also had some good dialogue about how to switch up the dynamism of the puzzle designs so I'm excited to try some of it out. Haha I'm glad you found one of the little shortcuts, I was thinking of taking that out after I discovered it but thought it was a nice little reward for creative thinking and skill level. That is good to know about switching cartridges I'm definitely going to have to overhaul my input system as it hasn't quite been working as intended. Thank you for all of your feedback!

Thank you so much for all the positive feedback and for playing my game! I agree I do need clearer distinction on what objects are jumpable, at one point the AC unit and shelves were but it kind of broke up the flow. Also I saw Adam play your game on stream and it's super creative I love it! I can't wait to play it myself!

Hey! I'm so glad you enjoyed my game! Thanks for the positive feedback. As far as the UI, I did want to have a highlighted version of the cartridges on the side letting you know which one is active but time constraints dictated otherwise. Thank you for taking the time to play my game!

HI!Thank you so much for playing my game! Haha good to know, there's a couple other unintentional shortcuts like that I found after I submitted it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed my game! I've never really heard of a game or hero with this concept either! I'm sorry you ran into the jumping bug but that is absolutely hilarious how it manifested right after you won. I actually think that's a better ending than the slightly vague message I used lol.

(1 edit)

Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed my game! I really appreciate the feedback. I definitely think the input handling system I built could use a bit more tweaking and the Sonic dash could definitely use some more fine tuning. I'm sorry you ran into the interaction bug but I'm glad refreshing took care of it. Thank you so much for playing it!

Hey! Thanks for playing my games and thank you so much for your feedback! I totally understand what you mean about the music, making music isn't my strong suit and I ended up not having enough time to flesh it out more. Also I had never used Bosco Ceoil before so there was a slight learning curve. Anyways I'm glad you enjoyed playing my game!
