Hello Chillax :) Many thanks for your feedback :)

-working on the snap view and some of your points...
-Point 9.. You are totally right... good point thx I did not noticed that :)

-Currently I'm on a half vacation time... Want to connect via Discord? We can talk about ( efebe_ )

Working on a update to expand current asstets and get more variations (design and colour)... Is there a specifi room that are u looking for?
I was thinking a hospital room theme would be nice.

Thanks :)

Great :)
There is a dev (https://x.com/Oroshibu/status/1930262532683399235?s=20) who is working on an Aseprite plugin for this... Seems very good and promising :)

Good :) working on it.

Hello Coderzxy54 :)
I need to investigate this deeply... So many requests; it might be useful for users... So far I see a big issue:
-Sliced PNG and Magical Voxels (.vox) use a single colour per voxel... But PixZels uses 6 colours per voxel (1 independent colour per voxel side)... I did that on purpose, so the model could look more realistic and precise, not a blocky model on the corners...
-So with this issue, I think the conversion won't be exactly the same... But it might work for users... I will try out. Currently this is on my To-do list. Atm Im working on the OBJ, MTL and Atlas conversion.

Many thanks for your imput.. Soon will have some results about.

Hi Chillax I try to adress all this topics:

1- Working on multi size upload mode

4-Snap view is possible to snap all sides (back, front, left, right top and bottom sides) and all the isometrics .. There is button called Lock view  that allow the user to not lock the views incase need to work on specific angles.

5- When I do implement different png sizes that popup telling the user that the png is not correct will not appear anymore. :)

9. "Can you make line mode always render the pixels it will draw? Since I noticed atm it only renders them if you move your mouse around.">>>> Sorry I do not understand this point. If u can explain further will help me out :)

13. "A bind for using a key and then using mouse wheel to increase and decrease brush size would be nice." There is a keyboard shortcut atm (numpad 1-0) to change pencil-eraser size... I might include a custom key to adjust that with the mouse wheel.

15- I notice that big sizes over 128 the app is slow and laggy... I tried several times to improve that but not much advance... I will dedicate a full day on it to improve and optimice the app to be able to create 512px size models.

The rest of the topics are on my list to do, hope I answer all your suggestions... Many thanks :)

Really nice addon... I will keep this feature to add on future builds, Many Thanks. :)

Good Points Chillax..
It is on my roadmap to include a smooth tool... Especially in erase mode to avoid irregular chunks.
The pixel precision is an important issue that needs to be addressed. This app is very early in development and would not be easy to get to a professional level like Blender or Photoshop... My main concern is to create a tool very simple to work with, and all need to be very intuitive... I'm sorry that first encounter with Pixzels was hard... Need to investigate deeply...
My ultimate goal is to create the simplest tool to create pixelart 3d that feels as easy and natural as painting 2d pixelart.
Written down all the points and will keep working.. Many Thanks for your input :)
I would like to be able to see how people work with Pixzels and see where they get lost to understand the weak points.

Working on it :) Thanks Chillax :)

Thanks! Wakawakamush :)

I haven't had many complaints about this before, but I'll definitely take it into consideration for the next update. Many thanks!

The current system relies on square images for simplicity because each pixel needs to align across the orthogonal views to generate a voxel. If the pixel positions don't match, the app can't determine where to place the geometry in 3D space.

Just to get a bit more context—what image dimensions do you usually work with?

I need to think through this carefully and do some testing. I imagine an extreme non-square aspect ratio (like 1:10) might cause issues. Similarly, if the side images have different dimensions from each other, it will be hard for the system to build the model accurately.
Do you also need to be able to use images with different dimensions for each side?

I'll test this out and let you know what I find!

Thanks again :)

Really good point, Chillax.

I'll take some time to address these topics and answer all of these points—Your suggestions are really important. Some of them will take me a bit of time to implement, but I'm on track to improve this app and make it a professional tool. It's already very useful for me, but I see that it still needs a lot to improve.

When I spend too much time working on the same project, I get blind spots and it becomes hard to spot the bugs...

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I'll reply ASAP! :)

-Using square sprites of identical dimensions is crucial for precise model creation. Exact pixel placement ensures the model generates correctly, and uniform PNG sizes make calculating these coordinates much easier.

-I will release a new version next week that includes .mtl file support.

Many thanks :)

Hello Wakawakamush.
1-The back Image (and all 6 sides images) could be added using Upload sides Button:

2-The magicalvoxel .vox format needs to be tested. But I think it won't be possible because behind PixZels, the tech is not voxels. Voxels have a unique colour for each voxel, and PixZels uses 6 colours on each voxel (each side could have a different colour). That is done to create more precision when the user builds the models. (The models are nicer imo).

3- Obj with mtl it's a must, yes ... Many Thanks,

You can post your feedback here or send me  mail (cartade1y0@gmail.com) I write down all the ideas.
Many Thanks for your feedback... That really help me a lot :)

Hello Teebor9.

I see I have the same problem on Mac... Need to fix this bug... is a bit annoying.
I wrote down the UI size increase... I'm not young. I will need it XD

Thanks for the feedback :)

Hello Coderzxy... Interesting bug... Many thanks for your info. I was looking into what was triggering this not-saving bug. I'll check it out.

Hello Shyufo.

Awesome features that you think of... Some of them I already have on my to-do list. Definitely, I will be adding them because I love all of them :)

  •  Rotating Preview Window: Not sure what you mean with that sorry :(

Im working atm on a new version and within the coming expansions; I will head in that direction.
I do not have Discord for it but I write down all the comments that I receive from Itch and X.

Many thanks for your feedback. :)

Not yet... Maybe on future phases... First I need to finish the whole city, and I want to create destructive elements.

(1 edit)

Glad that u found the way... Im not familiar so much on 3d OBJ... I do think vertex color is not the best color export for a 3d model. I will work on export OBJ + MTL

Thanks for the feedback Veveo.

Es una idea genial :)

I think it will not be easy to achieve this :/

No need to purchase the buildings separately... The pack will include the whole city, assets, floors... Just needed time to define the style more before exporting the buildings that I've done so far. In the coming days will be released. Next month, new buildings and environments will be added.
Many Thanks.

New update on the PHC Isometric exterior city :)

Pixel Heat City (PHC) – Isometric Modular Exteriors

Pixel Heat City (PHC) is a modular isometric asset pack for building vibrant urban environments. Stack elements vertically or horizontally with complete grid precision.

  • Fully Modular: Mix and match building cores, facades, shops, roads and roofs.
  • Rich Detail: Includes storefront signs, rooftop AC units, street lamps, and props.
  • Game-Ready: Optimised for seamless isometric tilemaps.

@pixel_Salvaje.

XD I updated the ambulance ortho images... Still, this model, when it is created based on images, has these voxels wrongly extruded due to the geometry... The best way to get the model is to use the JSON upload (Load Model Button) is the clean version of the model.
The ambulance example could be used as personal or commercial use... I have some cars already (Police Car, Pickup and Old Van) on sale using PixZels Json file names that are on sale and can be used for personal or commercial use. I think it is a good option to take existing cars and make modifications to get more different models... It is a good base.
Looking forward to seeing your creations.
Thanks.. If you need anything different let me know.

Many Thanks for your words Psychojack88 ♡♡♡

Hello Gkakisdf.

Can we contant via Discord. I will try to fix that. Thanks

(efebe_)

I see the issue...

-Need to check the ambulance files, but  I think they need to be updated.
-The example model (from the examples button) it is already a cleanup model.

-The main reason is that Pixels cannot determine hidden geometry using ortho images only... Let's say if geometry pixels are inside a fridge model, the ortho images do not give information to the model for the inside of this fridge... The same principle happens on the ambulance... Usually, after creation, I need to cut geometry and paint details to make it perfect. I usually do it with a selection box.

Need to apply some ideas to maybe fix this issue. Need to test.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I could try to export as Obj + Mtl file also.. Maybe it will be better?

A mirror editing Feature will be added yes... I think is important. Many Thanks

Im sorry Deselok is not for your usage.. The background is like the examples, mostly is used for games wich need a loot of floor (like Plants vs Zombies..)

If u do not like it or do not want to use it I can make a refund.

Many Thanks :)

Yes, planning to release on Steam.

The ones who purchased on itch will get a key for Steam.

Hello Yua Nizu.
The app is not really good atm for organic shapes. Although it is possible, it is more suitable for blocky assets.
Working on implementing rounded or circular selections, which will help a lot for character creation :)

Many Thanks  for your feedback :)

It can export as 3d OBJ Model (v0.05)

:)

Hello Cecton :)
I´m gonna contract you as a quality manager XD... Many many thanks. You are right, I found some dead pixels across the sprites.
Already fixed. Many Thanks.

Hello Ruffles Teiv :)
1-The app is a 100% standalone desktop program. When it 'generates' an image, it uses pure mathematical orthogonal interpolation Just classic, predictable code and geometry.

2-I,m planning soon a 3d export for it... Need to hard-test more... The result exported  will be a similar of a  voxel model.

Hello DanClypse.
I see the issue... PixZels cannot find hidden extrusions correctly.
As with the inside of the fridge, I need to work out the geometry manually because I can only determine the depth of orthogonal views, not hidden geometry... Not sure If I can add a colour detection to fix that missing geometry.

My workaround is to work on these issues after model creation using selections. It is what works best for me so far. :/

Really cute house :) ... Also need to find a way to fix these slopes, like the roof, to be more pleasant to see.

Many Thanks for your feedback; it helps me a lot in finding issues. :)

Many Thanks for your feedback, CrisLoyal.

Working in that direction... I will include a voxel model workaround in the next updates :)

I'm gonna take a look at the struggles with the very small canvases issue; it might be an unknown bug.

Oh Cecton. Many many thanks to let me know!
That feedback help me a lot to improve :)

Not sure what you mean by your question...
A new version went live yesterday. If you are running the older version, please delete this old build to get the new fixes. No need to manually rename anything or add extra tags to the folders. :)

Many many thanks for your constructive feedback Skullbrow, that info means a lot for me.
I appreciate your deep analysis.. I see that you are a pixel artist and understand the medium.

Some of the points are fixed already in the newly v0.004 released yesterday... I will be working on the next points through intensive testing.

I'm aware the tool is not 100% perfect atm, but pushing for getting a professional tool, so far is a very useful tool for my daily work but still needs to improve. Thanks.
If you want to keep on contact and discuss some issues or needs, we can connect via Discord if you feel like (efebe_).
