The different music options were nice! Not sure how fitting this is to the theme, though. Congrats on your first published game!

Great sound and visuals! Like others have said I had a bit of a hard time figuring out what was meant to be done, but I believe part of that might be from downloading the game here rather than the game page - your game page instructions are clear enough :) Nice use of the theme!

Fun concept, and great sound!

Thank you!

We're glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

Thanks!

We're glad you enjoyed it, thanks for giving it a shot!

Oh wow, super neat idea! That must have taken a lot of work to get the songs to line up nicely :>

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I was never quite good enough to work up a combo for the score multiplier unfortunately, but that's a really nice touch to change music accordingly!

Nice idea! The bow weapon was pretty OP (the second I got one, everything became extremely easy and there wasn't the need to use the absorption mechanic anymore) but I definitely loved the idea of absorbing different powers/weapons and then being able to use them.

Huge fan of the art style - nice work of what I assume to be shaders to get that vacuum to match the style too since it looked to be moving like it was 3D. There were some moments where a ghost would just briefly touch the 'dim' part of my light and immediately lose progress on capture which was a bit frustrating, but overall nice job.

Loved the concept and use of the theme! I had a bit of a hard time orientating myself - it might help to have a background with some sort of pattern on it, so the player can tell the ship is moving based on moving past the pattern (like stars, or something). My first few tries I didn't know I was moving, just thought I was staying in the middle of the screen haha. Overall nice work though, liked the sound a lot too!

Thanks for the feedback! We definitely want to rework the difficulty after the jam is over, and that's a good point about the audio as well. And lol, if it's any consolation it took me quite awhile to get a top spot back in my own game after I too got booted from top five haha.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the feedback! We definitely agree that the game could be improved so it's not so difficult to fight back and stay alive, we'll have to consider the amount of trash you lose in defense as part of that as well. Glad you enjoyed the look + sound of it, thanks for taking the time to play it and let us know what you thought!

Fun idea and great use of the theme! I got stuck on the level with the arrows and found myself wishing there was a 'return to main menu' option so that I might save my progress instead of simply having to quit the whole run, but overall enjoyed it. Nice work!

I really enjoyed the humor - I'm especially fond of the waffles with guns taped to them, this was a very cute and silly idea. I had a pretty hard time understanding the colored vertical gauges in the bottom right corner, so additional info there or a small tutorial section might be nice. Overall nice job, a challenging bullet hell!

Really enjoyed this one, great use of the theme and nice movement and mechanic controls! I did have a difficult time finding more snowballs sometimes, though, so it would be nice to see more spawn points for them added - you definitely go through them way faster than you can find them, especially as the number of enemies starts to increase, haha. Nice job overall, it was very cute!

This is a fun concept and has some neat details, such as being able to zoom out to see the whole map and plan your next move, and the tutorial option was very appreciated! I did find the overall game play experience to be a bit difficult since the blob often shot off screen much faster than I could follow it with WASD - if this game is developed further, it would be great to see the camera automatically follow the blob when he goes off screen, or something similar to help the player follow the creature they're controlling. Great use of the theme!

Pretty impressive to have the difficulty scaling, clean tutorial, and game itself all done in the jam window - nicely done!

Really digging the visuals for this game! Simple but tight gameplay - I was a bit disappointed the leaderboard was broken in the build, since I could definitely see this being a game that would be easy to get lost in competing for the top score in haha. Nice work!

thank you for the feedback! pure RNG definitely doesn't seem like quite the right fit for this game based on those experiences, if we develop it further it would be nice to redo the spawning system to work based off player condition and difficulty to improve player experience.

glad you enjoyed the base idea, though, thanks for playing and taking the time to let us know what you thought!

thanks so much, we're glad you enjoyed it! and lol, if only it was as easy as a video game to fix haha

lots of nice polish details in this, like the way the sponge scales in different actions & is weighed at the end during score calculation. cute!

Thanks so much for the feedback! We definitely ran out of time for testing the balance of the game, but your notes on frequency of trash vs enemy appearance & difficulty of absorbing >3 pieces of trash are great for us to know going forward. I've been dodging by using the momentum of sudden large mouse movements on beat with the rate of enemy fire, but it's not foolproof for sure and ends up depending on asteroids for most points... perhaps it would be best to add a small 'speed boost' feature the player can use occasionally as well.

And whoops - you're totally right! I don't think we can edit it while the rating process is ongoing but I'll have to make a note of that for future WebGL submissions like this :)

love the art for this game :)

the push back/vibration when shooting is a nice touch!
