Hey there! I tried converting it to a web version and it ended up not only looking pretty terrible, but a lot of the features were getting buggy or simply crashing. I tend to do playtest every 3 months or so. I can try and develop a web version version for the next playtest, but for now it was turning into too much of a Herculean task for now (I keep the link up for about 7 - 10 days between playtests). Thank you for taking up an interest and I hope I can successfully make the web version for the next test <3

I like the idea that you're going for. I can see it turning into something much more interesting and fun. Right now it is still quite rough. Please add some kind of restart or title menu so that when people die they can start again. I played for a while but never found the end. Keep working at it friend <3
I thought your art style and sound direction were dead on for the retro-GBC look. I have never played a bullet hell or survivor-like so I was very confused about what to do lol I liked that it was multi-player, and I thought the two options for characters were charming.
My only feedback I can offer is an optional tutorial for dinosaurs like me who haven't played these types of games before. The writing was also quite difficult to read.
You have a great start here! The game is cute, the multiplayer is a lovely addition and you clearly know what you're doing. <3
Hey I gave it whirl!
I think this needed a little more time in the oven to help convey what you're going for. There wasn't enough feedback to know what I was attacking, and the healing was a bit inconsistent. Don't give up! I would really focus in on making the combat more satisfying. Add some sound effects, special effects, and just get that bit down and fun. You got this <3
I'm not very good at platformers haha
But I did like your art style and color palette. The sound design was quite charming. Your text was short, sweet, to the point and nice to read. My points of improvement for you is that the spring pads are easy to miss, and (this might just be me) but the first button wasn't working when I tried it the first few times. I had to refresh and try again before it worked. Otherwise, nice job! Keep going <3

Hey all!
I'm in the process of making of Survival Horror game with Rogue-lite/RPG elements. Right now I'm testing the Survival Horror aspect, and wanted to get some feedback. The gameplay should take between 5 - 10mins to complete. There is a short 5min feedback forum available in the game, but as a brief overview of what I'm looking for:
1) How are the controls?
2) How are the room transitions?
3) Were items easy to find?
4) Was the environment easy to navigate?
5) Are the camera angles well placed?
6) Was there enough inventory space?
7) What was the most enjoyable part for you.
8) What was the most frustrating?
9) What additional features would you like to see?
10) Bugs or general feedback.
What will the game be?
Souls to Take will combine the look and feel of the classic Resident Evil survival horror games with elements from RPGs and Rogue-likes. Your objective is to reach the top of the tower. Each level you are given an objective, as well as 3 perks to choose from. If your character dies, a new one will take their place until there are no characters left. When you are out of "lives" the game is over.
Because the best thing to do is playtest early and often, I'm trying to get some feedback early on the foundation, to make sure that the core is fun to play before adding in the RPG/Rogue-like elements.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you give it a chance <3
The more you do a thing, the better at it you'll be :) You should try the "fail faster" strategy. Basically just do a ton of really small projects that take no more than a day or two to complete and work your way up. Start with limitations so you can flex your creativity. Don't be afraid to use references or try to recreate other pieces. I hope that helps <3
I struggle with polish.
When it comes to polishing up your games for release, what is everyone's approach? Do you throw it all together with dev-art and stand in until the very end and then polish? Do you take it section by section? Do you start with something that looks visually appealing and then work through the programming later?
How much time are y'all usually spending on the process? And do you have any tried and true tips?
I'm very curious to know :)
Hey! I was just researching this question for myself and came across a really great resource (at least from the gameplay aspect). I think the story progression takes a different set of skills, but I would guess the outlining process of writing the story probably correlates with the outlining process of the level. I hope this helps and I hope your game comes out great :)

I've posted a new playtest for my game! I've made a lot of improvements and would love to know what y'all think. Thank you for taking the time to read this :)
