It's really nice to hear you say that, the combat does become pretty fun once you get the hang of it. It seems like we were on the right track of things!

Thank you for playing our game!

Thank you for playing our game!

Glad to hear that you really liked the game! The dynamic between the brazier and the enemies worked out better than we expected so it's nice to see you mention it. Thanks for playing, yours was really cool too!

Thank you for trying out our game! Yours is pretty fun as well!

I'd say that the concept for the game has a lot of potential. Figuring out the locations based on the camera tends to take a lot of trial and error, especially with the unknown figure running around (It's easy to lose a lot).

But overall the game is nice. The graphics and sounds are fitting. I liked that I was able to tell where the figure based on the sound alone (I was able to use that to my advantage which is a pretty nice touch).

Nice work!

Nicely polished! I had a lot of fun just playing around with the different combos that could be made.

The good old days of COD Zombies, now THIS brings me back.

Nitpicks:

  • The mouse sensitivity could be bumped a bit higher. I had my game settings and dpi settings set to max and I still found myself dragging my mouse across my desk.
  • The rounds and zombies tend to be pretty slow; I feel like zombies should be a bit faster as rounds go higher.
  • There's a sort of "lag" that happens throughout the game. my character and cursor would randomly jitter to another direction/location.

However despite the nitpicks, I had quite some fun with this game! Nice job! :)

*** For future reference I would suggest adding an epilepsy warning for those who tend to be sensitive.

But overall, this is a nice game! The prologue was a cool take and I liked the art style that went with it. The music and sfx fit an unsettling theme; it set the atmosphere pretty well.

The only thing I found unclear is knowing when the next evolution would occur. I felt like I spent a lot of time just going around eating creatures which at some point felt tedious.

On another note, maybe it was just on my end but overtime my game started dropping in FPS which made it a bit difficult to play. Maybe dying and respawning a lot was an influence?

I'll admit that I spent an unhealthy amount of time playing this game.

The graphics and 90s feel was rather endearing; Oddly this game felt nostalgic despite not actually being made in the 90s.

The music and SFX was likely the main reason why I continued playing the game. The minigame was difficult at first but really fun when you got the hang of it. As someone who really likes the rhythm genre, you both really hit the nail on the head I'd personally say.

The only part I was unable to really get the hang of was trying to catch the "friends" that were really fast. It was pretty difficult managing the cursor while trying to fill the meter up (I was using a mouse if that means anything).

But regardless, amazing job! So far this is my favourite game of the jam. :)

P.S - Bugs:

When the "Fuzz" cutscene came on,  I found out that I was able to pause / access the shop. I bought more time to see what would happen and then un-paused. This resulted in the screen going black and I was unable to proceed to the "Truck" minigame. To also note, I was still able to hear the button sounds despite the screen being black.

Thank you for playing our game!

We did intend on making this game be on the harder side of things. Although perhaps we should've made the difficulty increase more gradually. Thanks for the feedback!

Damn... I will keep this secret to the bitter end.

In this public comment section.

Hello! We realize more now that the instructions tend to be a bit unclear, it takes a bit of trial and error to figure out what to do the potions afterwards. Good to know that you figured it out :). Glad that you enjoyed our game, yours was really fun too!

Felt like coming back again to leave a better comment for this game. On my second playthrough I managed to get a stability score of 197; I was so close in getting to the max lol.

So far this game is still possibly my favorite among the many other well-made games I've come across for this game jam.  I'd say it's mainly the charm that it has throughout the game; it's very well paced. The minigames were really fun, my particular favorites were the wobbly table and monitoring the stocks. I also liked the consistency of the sound effects and the music. Maybe I'm looking too much into it but I thought things were nicely used and that they balanced well between each other.

My only nitpick is wishing that there was some type of "event" that would occur if your stability meter dropped down all the way to 0.

Regardless, keep it up!

This was oddly charming! I found the obligatory "Colossal Creature" pretty funny when it came up. Great job!

I played on easy mode lol. I tried playing on hard mode but then there were birds that crossed the entire screen; there was no way of avoiding it.

Sorry for the late reply, thank you for playing! We're really glad you enjoyed it!

I will never know the satisfaction :(

Thank you for the kind advice! I agree that some parts of the game were pretty silent. Especially the cutscene; we were actually planning to add sounds to that scene but when it was finished there wasn't enough time to add it all in before the submission date. I will take this as an opportunity to plan more carefully in my future games. Best of luck to you too!

I played on the Windows version!

Never expected the music to make this game so intense; it made climbing to the top all the more desirable. My one and only question to you is: DOES THE WALNUT EXIST??

Pretty fun! I really liked the Music and Sound Effects of your game. Something I found myself doing a lot was constantly jumping just because I liked the sound that went with it. The mechanics are pretty good for a platformer although I agree that the double-jump could be tweaked a bit.

I saw the comment saying that they encountered the phantom double-player bug. I don't know how I managed, but I was able to produce a triple-player bug while a fourth one was flying throughout the levels (I think exiting to the menu and re-entering the game might've had some influence to it).  Oddly enough I think that fourth pill finished the game for me because mid-way through one level the victory screen popped up for me. It was pretty quirky if I do say so myself.

Regardless, I enjoyed playing this! Nice work!

We're not sure why it got removed either. Trying to look into it.

Had a lot of fun playing this. Keep up the good work!
