Hi everyone,

I’m part of the team behind Ludio, an AI-powered interactive storytelling platform. We’re considering making a playable story experience available through itch.io, and I’d like to understand the appropriate way to present it before publishing.

The experience uses an external AI service to generate character responses. What is the appropriate project format for this kind of experience on itch.io?

Also, where should we clearly disclose any external account requirements, usage limits, and dependence on an online service so players understand them before starting?

If there’s documentation or an existing discussion covering this, I’d appreciate a pointer.

Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone! I’m Dorothy from the Ludio team.

We’re building Ludio, an AI-powered platform for creating and experiencing interactive stories. The idea is simple: instead of only reading a scene, you can respond to its characters in your own words and help shape what happens next.

Our team started this project because we wanted storytelling to feel more personal—a place where people could explore their own ideas, create original characters, and experience stories through conversation.

Through our Lighthouse Program, we’d like to invite interested writers, narrative designers, and curious players to try Ludio. We’re offering US$50 worth of video-generation credits so you can explore the creative tools and experiment with a story of your own.

You’re welcome to simply try the experience first. There’s no requirement to publish a story, make a promotional video, or leave a positive review. The credits are for using the product, not payment for commissioned work.

We’d especially appreciate hearing:

  • What kinds of stories would you want to create or explore?
  • Do the character interactions feel engaging and consistent?
  • What feels confusing, limiting, or missing?

Ludio uses generative AI, and we understand that this approach won’t suit everyone. We want to be upfront about that and hear honest feedback from people who are interested in exploring it.

If you’d like to try it, reply here and I’ll help arrange access and the credits. Please don’t post your email address publicly.

Thanks for taking a look—we’d love to see what you imagine.

That’s a really useful distinction, thank you. We want people to understand that they can type their own response, and I can see how the screenshots might suggest preset dialogue choices instead.

I’ll try that 20-second test. A short clip showing someone typing a reply and the character responding could make it much clearer, too. Really appreciate the practical suggestion!

A character asks you to trust them.

Do you believe them, ask what they’re hiding, or change the subject entirely?

Ludio is an AI-powered interactive storytelling platform where you step into a story and respond in your own words.

Choose a story that catches your interest, enter as a character, and explore the relationships and situations through conversation. Bring your curiosity, your personality, and the questions you wish a novel’s protagonist would ask.

The experience becomes personal through what you say and how the characters respond. You can linger in a conversation, question someone’s intentions, or see what happens when you take an unexpected approach.

If you enjoy creating, you can also build original characters and story scenarios for other people to explore.

I’m Dorothy from the Ludio team. Our vision is to give stories a life beyond the last page—worlds people can enter and characters they can speak to.

We’d love to hear what kind of story you’d want to step into first.

Your story. Your choice. What will you say next?

Hi everyone, I’m Dorothy from the Ludio team.

We’re building an AI-powered interactive storytelling platform where you enter a story as a character and respond in your own words.

We want players to feel that they have a place in the scene: they understand who they are, what’s happening, and have something they genuinely want to say next.

I’d really appreciate feedback on a few specific things:

  • Before playing: Does our itch.io page clearly explain what the experience involves?
  • At the opening: Is it clear who you’re playing and how you relate to the other characters?
  • During a conversation: Do the characters respond meaningfully to what you say? If something feels disconnected or breaks the immersion, where does that happen?

Here’s our project page:

Even feedback on the page alone would help—you don’t need to play through a whole story. If you do try one, please mention the story title so we can understand the context. There’s no need to share any private conversation details.

I’ll follow up in this thread with questions and any changes we make based on the feedback.

Thanks for taking a look!

Hi everyone, I’m Dorothy from the Ludio team.

Ludio is an AI-powered interactive storytelling platform where you enter a story as a character and respond in your own words.

I’d appreciate some outside feedback on how we present that experience. Since we work on the product every day, it’s easy to overlook things that might be confusing to someone seeing it for the first time.

Our itch.io page:
https://3218961440qqcom.itch.io/ludio

A few things I’d especially like your thoughts on:

  • After looking at the page, is it clear what you would actually do in Ludio?
  • Do the screenshots help explain the experience, or would a short gameplay recording be more useful?
  • Is there anything you’d need to know before deciding to try a story?

If you also try it, I’d love to hear whether the opening gives you enough context to know who you are and what you might say next.

Even a brief first impression would help. Thanks for taking the time!

Dorothy — Ludio team

Hi everyone,

I just published Ludio on itch.io and wanted to share it here.

Link: [https://medrixoo.itch.io/ludio]

Ludio is a web-based interactive storytelling tool. You can play the same story in two ways: Chat mode (free-form dialogue) or Theatre mode (scene-by-scene, more like reading a play). You can switch between them on the same save.

There’s also a separate Parallel Life mode. You pick a birth year and location, then live through the years making choices or free-typing actions. Afterward you can look back at the timeline, characters, and moments you created.

You can turn parts of what you played into Moments, images, short videos, or even a full Book.

It’s free to try. I’d love to hear what you think if anyone checks it out — especially feedback on the Theatre and Parallel Life modes.

Thanks!

I enjoyed playing Gacha Gotcha! Thank you for creating and sharing it. I'm not great at putting my thoughts into words, but I wanted to leave a little encouragement. Looking forward to seeing how the game develops!
