Thanks for playing. I realised this after submitting. I'm not sure if I can edit my submission during the rating period, but I will be changing it.

Yeah you're right, it does feel quite slow. The speed upgrades don't feel significant either.  Thanks for the suggestion, I'll update that in the post-jam version.

Cool mechanic, it's all about the timing. I would've liked if there was an element of strategy, like having the option to choose which direction to jump in - the level design would obviously have to be different as well. But that's purely a preference thing. Well done on finishing your submission!

Hey. Thanks for catching that, I completely missed it. Will fix that in the post-jam update.

Really fun game. Engaging from the start. I actually beat the game in my first run :) I used the mace and the dagger combination, so I could stun the boss and prevent he's attacks with critical rolls. Maybe I just got lucky haha. Can't wait for the steam release!

This was very cool and spooky! The art style is great, really compliments the atmosphere. It was a little confusing as to what UI elements I could interact with, so some visual and/or feedback for the actions would've been great. Overall, this could make for a really spooky and engaging horror/roguelike experience if expanded on.

Lol this game is amazing. I love the silliness and sense of humour of this game. The character models and animations are great, fits the tone of the game perfectly. Really polished for a game jam as well. Well done!

Super fun and addictive gameplay loop with amazing game feel. Fits the theme perfectly as well. The scoring system wasn't immediately obvious to me at first, especially the way "interest" is calculated. Maybe a short tutorial or how-to-play page might help with that. Overall really well polished for a game jam. Well done!

Thank you. I am in fact working on a post-jam version.

Thanks for playing!I think the "haul to beat" is quite a nice approach to add more risk and/or reward to the game. I'm excited to prototype this and see how it fits with the game

Thank you! Yeah game feel is definitely lacking. I am working on a post-jam version so hoping to improve on it

Thanks for playing my game! Adding more risk to losing is a great idea. I was thinking the risk could be losing your equipment if your line breaks (Assuming that equipment could be purchased/equipped before each round). I'm sure yet, but I'll explore this a bit more.

I love the minimalist style of this game. The game feel on the UI is really cool too. Overall a fun, well-made game.

I really like the atmosphere created with the ambient sounds. I get heavy Buckshot Roulette vibes (in the best possible way). Would be cool to see this expanded on.

I really like this idea of a minimal rules discovery game. It feels like a living ecosystem, even though the art style is minimal (which I like). The atmosphere is amazing too. Really great job!

This is such as great concept and great execution. I thoroughly enjoyed this!

Hey. Sure. I've uploaded the p8 file, enjoy!

Well done on your submission, it looks great! Any chance you could upload a mac or web build?

Really cool game. Figuring out how to beat the Avoidance level was tricky, but it felt rewarding. I really liked the sound affects as well. I had to laugh when I heard the Dj Airhorn  sound after completing the final level. The death sound effect added an extra sense of dread for me. Great job overall!

yo

Hey José. Thanks! I've uploaded the p8 file. The code is very messy, hopefully it's still useful.

Thanks! That's a really good suggestion.

I love the chaotic car controls! Very smooth. The art style is really cool too.

Very cool terraform concept!

Well done! The game feels really complete and polished. I enjoyed the soundtrack as well.

Very interesting concept. I had a similar idea and it was cool to see a different approach. Also, the sound effects are hilarious. Great job!

I had fun outsmarting myself with this one! A very clever puzzle platformer.

Such a well-polished submission and a very creative idea! I love the hand-drawn art style as well.

Engaging all the way to the end. Amazing work!

Amazing concept. Was really fun drawing and rating other paintings

This was awesome! Even aliens can't escape taxes lol

Thank you for playing!

Thanks for playing! That I can't take credit for unfortunately. That's the default boot up screen for PICO-8 -  a fantasy console/game engine that I used to make the game with.

This was awesome. The limitation of the energy pylon makes for a great mechanic, limiting exploration and making discovery more valuable. Also Elon's cybertruck was a nice humour element.

Lovely visuals and great choice of colours and shapes. Initially I couldn't figure out whether to hold or press keys, but eventually got the hang of it. Well done!

Really well done! Great atmosphere and the UI looks amazing. Each expedition made me more curious to know what's next. Definitely embraces the theme very well.

Thanks. That's a great idea

Thanks for playing!

Thanks! The pixelated look is a render texture that is set to a lower resolution and then mapped to the camera. Here's an example tutorial on how to do it:

Thanks for playing @justmikeZX!
