Sup everyone, as you may know, The Re-Rise of StarFall 2 is officially in development! Though there is a problem, I seem to be encountering a list of problems as im making it, such as, getting stuck when coding something more complex, or the characters roster expanding and thus, leading to me needing some programmers and voice actors
I have been in game development for nearly 1 year and a half, and StarFall 2 began development in januray of this year, but because I dont have time because of school work and stuff, the game's only like 30-35% done(Though the base for the game is a lil more stable) and I desperately need the most of help.
Although, as I said in the tags, the job is unpaid, at the end of the day, this is a passion project of mine, and I shall never dare anyone who offers to join, to work more than they could, and want

This time I can say It has quite been a while. But now I'm back with more news on the secret project I've been working, and I am willing to share with you TWO screenshots from the game, but now, let's talk about the teaser trailer for the game.
It's OFFICIALLY coming tommorow, at 10 A.M EST, on youtube on the channel "Mandatory Games" which is where I post all the trailers for my games, so make sure to subcribe if you don't wanna miss out.
The Teaser is around a MINUTE long and is going to contain some heavy hitters, from the thumbnail, all the way to the whole video is some of the best I've made, and I am EXITED to share it with you all.

I think this is the third devlog? I think? I honestly lost the count, I'm just going to assume this is the third.
POST STARFALL:
Anyways, after the development of the enhanced edition for starfall, I resumed work on the secret project Ive been teasing since April of this year. It is going pretty decently from the looks of it and I plan it to be launched in 2026
I've worked on it since January of this year, but development has been over-shadowed by StarFall up until now.
WHATS NEW + SCREENSHOT OF THE GAME
I've recently started working on a save system for the game and laying out the main enviroments, puzzles and gimmicks of the game, it's going to be a horror title as well, WAY scarier, intense, and more dynamic than StarFall, I've also just recently started working on making enviroments look better, here's a look at one of the areas of the game

Hi, it's been a lil while, I have recently released "The Re-Rise of StarFall: Enhanced Edition" not that long ago(which you can check out on my page), and now I'm working on a different project, but I need some help.
Modeling and coming up with characters without a reference image is pretty hard, that is why I am looking for one or two concept artists to make 2D designs/sketches for me, so that it will be easier to model stuff.
Although the work is unpaid, I AM willing to give a free copy of the game, once development is finished for it, I'll even add you as "special thanks".

Finally, after nearly 5 months, the definitive version of StarFall is here. Besides bug fixes and tweaks, there is also more major changes and new additions.
-The contrast/visuals have improved SIGNIFICANTLY
-The player controller has been reworked to be more dynamic.
-The Flashgun has been reworked to now always be responsive
-The physics/collision have been improved
-A bit of new lore
-Option to choose your framerate: the options are 30, 60, 90 and 120FPS!
2 new endings! Can you find them both? You can only find out by playing the game!
The story formula goes the same as in the initial version. You are an old employee of StarFall's Fortress, a shelter made for the homeless, whilst also being apealing to children, who got a letter from the CEO to go back there and get some resources for his brand new opening for a prize pool of 100K $, but on the way there, you get kidnapped and your only goal now is to escape.
I've worked hard since 2024 on StarFall, and I am proud that I've managed to make the game of my dreams at last. And I hope you'll enjoy playing it.
Now, I can FINALLY focus on the secret project I've been teasing and that has begun work all the way since January of this year. It will be MILES better than StarFall 1.

As I am writing this, I am on vacation to another city. And becauseI haven't finished material such as the release video for the game and since my vacation has been delayed. I've decided to take some more time when I come back, hence the delay.
When I come back from the vacation, I shall finish the release video AND polish up the game a bit more, after that, I can finally officially continue work on my teased secret project.
This was a very short devlog, because it really isn't one, it's more of a heads up more than anything.

Hello everyone, I am indie gamedev who's nearly been working alone for a year, but now, for my newest and most secret project, I have a pretty decent team, but I still require some roles, one of them being 3D modelers.
I am looking for at least 2 or 3 modelers that will create assets for the bigger enviroments of my game. The assets range from small objects to character models(If you are also an animator, it'd be nice if you could also make animations for the characters)

On this day, July 20th, marks the one year since development on my first every fully fledged game, "The Re-Rise of StarFall" has begun! I am so happy I have this chance to grow as a game developer, and I'll try my absolute best to continue at improving my game developing skills!

NEWS ON THE ENHANCED VERSION OF THE GAME:
Sorry I haven't been updating you all on the progress of the game. I've been busy with school stuff and only just now I can work more on the game AND that secret project I'm talking about. The Enhanced Edition of the game is shaping up to be something MAJESTIC, with a trailer coming this tuesday, July 22nd, at 10 A.M. EST. this trailer will be 50 seconds long, and will feature the new things that will be in the game.
NEWS FOR THE SECRET PROJECT:
As for the secret project, although still in early-development, the visuals for it in the starter area look insane, and will be much greater than StarFall's graphics. But I also need a few more people, such as 3d modelers/animators, programmers. a female voice actor, someone who can promote my upcoming projects, and a sound designer. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to pay the team, BUT, I am willing to give them Early access to the game, either in a playable state, or a finished one before release, and they'll appear in the credits 2 times, one time where you worked on a specific thing, and another as a tester. I really need people for this big of a project, so please, if you're interested, contact me on discord (andrei363), and help me turn this project into something beautiful.

Hi, it's been quite a while since I've last posted my status updates regarding my games and stuff, because I've been busy with school stuff and only just now I have more free time to share my progress on games.
Anyways, that is NOT what I want to talk about today, instead, I am STILL looking for artists for my game project, which it's name will be revealed in August of this year.
The last artist who offered I think ditched me, and now I have no one to make art for my game.
I am in DESPERATE need for artists that can make imagery that is at the very least decent and visually pleasing.
Though I must tell that I cannot aford for payment, because I'm underaged and don't even have the budget for a AA game or something among those lines. I am just a regular game developer who wants to improve upon his works and express his creativity.
Although I'm not offering payment, I AM willing to out you in the credits screen for game, but also, give you early acces to the game once it's in a PLAYABLE state, from start to finish, and because I'm giving you early acces, you can apear TWICE in the credits screen, as an artist AND as a game tester.
I hope at least someone considers this oportunity, I am in desperate need, and I need a minimum of 2 people to work on the art.

One of the main focises of this enhanced version of the game, are the graphical and visual improvements.
As of now, the graphical improvements consit of better contrast, better saturation, additions to the enviroments, such as asset remakes, particle addition, room redecorations and more.
Here are a few screenshots which show the new graphical improvements:



Again, the planned release for this version is Either in July or August, whilst also having chanches of coming to steam.
Next thing I'm going to focus on, are the optional rooms in the game that can be explored, which either contain more lore, or something more significant.

For this enhanced version of "The Re-Rise of StarFall", one of the main highlights will be the reworked player controller.
This new player controller has been built from a third person template, instead of the first person one, allowing it to feel much more natural and dynamic.
Now of course, the features from the first person controller, such as sprinting, crouching and climbing ladders, will all be carried over to the new controller, but all of them will feel WAY more different.
The Flashgun mechanic, has also been reworked, by it's code being implemented in the player controller. What this means is that when you pick up the flashgun, it will no longer attach the the player controller, instead, it will activate an already attached flashgun, which will allow you to shoot it like you used to, but this time the flashgun will always pick up you mouse inputs.
For the next thing I'm going to work on is the museum, which will be talked more about in it's own devlog.

The Re-Rise of StarFall - Enhanced Edition, is an upgrade to the game "The Re-Rise of StarFall", released on April 25th. This new version will be seperated from the original version, by having it's own game page, and the original game's page being renamed to "Legacy Edition".
This new and improved version should hopefully come in July, with THESE upcoming features:
-New and more dynamic player controller.
-New OPTIONAL enviroments to explore.
-More lore to be discovered.
-Visual and graphical improvements to the game as a whole.
-Rework of the old enviroments.
-New OST to be discovered.
-New museum feature, which allows you to visit some of the unused content in the game.

As you may know, one month ago I've announced a secret project I'm working on, which I can't reveal it's title, yet.
The project started in January, but the actual, more serious development started in May of this year, with a planned release date of Late 2026.
Although development is going fairly well, I'm still burnt out from the development of "The Re-Rise of StarFall"(Game is now downloadable on my profile), so summer will most likely be the time I make most progress on the game.

Finally, after 9 WHOLE months of development, "The Re-Rise of StarFall" is finally here! My first ever fully fledged game.

In this game, you play as an old employee of "StarFall's Fortress" who was called by one of the higher-ups of the facility to go search for resources in it, for a new establishment they've been working on, but on your way to fortress, you get kidnapped by something before you can even catch a good look at it. Your only goal is to get out of this distorted location.
This project has been such a pleasure to work on, as I've learned making games with Unreal Engine and it means A LOT to me of you would download it, play it, and leave a review. I've really worked hard on getting this project to work.
Also, it would mean SO MUCH to me if you could donate once you click the "download" button on the game page(The game is still free), as I want this project to reach it's max potential, and I also want to migrate the game to Steam, so it could be more accesible to everyone. At 7 am Pacific Time, "The Re-Rise of StarFall" will be launched on itch and on GameJolt, 9 months after development has begun.
A sequel IS planned for the game, and it did start pre-production, but it won't come out this year, as I want it to be better and longer than the first game in the franchise.
As for the steam release, I'm planning to make V. 1.1 for the game, which will be the definitive version of this game, with enhanced graphics, better polishing and more.
But for that, I need your guy's help, so as you know, you need to pay 100$ in order to upload onto steam, and I don't have that kind of money, so I really need your help to make this release a reality. So once I will release the game, there will be an option to donate if you want, the actual game is still free, but it would be much apreciated if you could donate when downloading the game.

I'm near wrapping up development for my game I've been working on for 7 months by now, but I still need to polish up some things, such as adding music and the structure of the game, and for that I need a music composer and 2 or 3 testers for my game.

Although I did say the trailer won't be coming out until May, I changed my mind because of the fact that half of the sections in the game are finished and are nearly more than ready to be showcased fully

No theme, no nothing. There isn't a specific theme I want to talk about, I just want to explain what has happened since the last devlog.
First things first, happy new year! Second things second, this year's gonna be the one where I have to REALLY start working on the game, altough in 2024 I still did decent progress.
Ever since the last devlog, I took a small break from developing this game, and participated in a game jam to somewhat improve my development skills. After it was over, I worked on another update then got right back to developing The Re-Rise of StarFall.
There are a LOT of things I did after I got back to working on it that I can't even enlist them all.
As for the release of the gameplay trailer, I planned to release it in February, but I don't really have that much gameplay to show off. So for now, expect the gameplay trailer releasing around July.
The release of 2025 for the game remains unaffected, but now there are no more thoughts on releasing it in Mid 2025, the only possible release window is Late 2025, most likely November, but unfortunately, some things are going to be left out from the game release such as a Save system and multiple Endings.
That is all for now, as for the next devlog, I'm most likely releasing one in February, being more open in that devlog, and is going to be bigger.

Thank you for the criticism! It's so weird seeing people actually interact with my game, since it's my first time seeing them on youtube.
I did recently make an update for the game, which covers some of the issues like the layout, the Main menu music, the holes in the ground have been changed, and the stairs were at first meant for the ending of the game, and then for a present spot, but now I removed the stairs entirely.
Speaking of the ending, I also remade it to not just be a png for the ending.
Now I'm not saying you should play it again, not at all, I'm saying that I know what can be wrong with my games, but your criticism definetly helps! As I am working on some bigger project.

This Devlog is probably one of the biggest ones since the 4th one, as I get to talk about the first builds of the game, new plans that were made after these builds, and the Main Menu of the game!
The First Game Builds:
After 4 months since the development of the game has begun, I finally made the first few prototype builds of the game after struggling with errors regarding these builds.
These builds are around 600mb, so the game will probably be over 3GB, so I will have a little bit of struggle uploading the game on this site.
New plans:
Since I finally managed to make the first builds of the game, I will probably start around this time to work on a save and load system for the game, optimising it and do many other things. As of now, the footstep system is delayed and will be continued working on after I make the base of the features planned above.
The Main Menu:
The main menu's got a BIG overhaul since the first time I made it back in July, mostly the main part of the overhaul is the UI and the Main Menu being in real time.
I also added an options tab so that you can tinker with things such as graphics and resolutions(There are still features to add in it)
Conclusion:
These last few days were a blessing for my game, and I'm hoping that things will mostly be like this.
(Also, by the next devlog, I should start having screenshots of things I nearly finished, so stay tuned for that!)

What happened these last two weeks:
Sorry for the time between the 5th log and this log, school got me REALLY busy with homework and stuff, but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on the game, of course! While away, these last two weeks, I didn't add that much new content, I just polished stuff that were already in the game and finished making the base for the FlashGun's mechanic. It only remains to do some polishing to it, and the FlashGun will be done!
New lore when?
Altough there is a story being told about my game on it's page(The link above), it isn't the final story I have in mind. But I am trying to make assets for the game to tell more of the story through the enviroment!

While I did say the page will come out around like a week ago, it didn't because I was busy doing school work and other stuff. I am very sorry that it didn't come out. The page will either come out this upcoming week, or in a few days after the second Teaser-Trailer for the game comes out!
The second Teaser-Trailer in the works!
As I said in my last devlog or two, I said that I would start working on the second Teaser-Trailer for the game in Late-Novmber or in Early-December! Fortunately, I have the time to work NOW on the Teaser! As I promised, it will be a little longer than the first one, and I plan on releasing it next Sunday!
The release of it will be announced in "Release Announcements"
Conclusion:
This upcoming week will be BIG compared to the week when I released the first Teaser-Trailer for the game! So stay tuned for the future of this game!

Hi! I know it's been a while since my last devlog. I'm still on vacation, but once I return from that vacation, I will continue developing the game at a slower pace and post less devlogs. Probably like 1 per week.
Plans for the game advertising:
Once I manage to expand the game's mechanics and polish the enviroments and the game itself, I'll start making the second teaser-trailer either in Late-November or in December of this year.
The ACTUAL gameplay trailer should hopefully come out in February next year with the game's release date
Information on the game's release:
I've said many times that it'll come out in Mid-Late 2025(I'm hoping that I don't have to delay it), but the months I'm hoping to release the game are July-August or November-December(Or in the other months in between) on here and on, GameJolt?

One day, in my vacation, I thought of more people downloading my game, so I decided I also want to release my game on GameJolt.
The page isn't up yet, but it will be once I get home, after my vacation.
