Thank you, I was able to reproduce the issue by deleting this bundle.

In the new engine version, bundles have shorter names, so this issue will be resolved in the update.

I don't think so. I applied the security patch and then ran a check, and it didn't find any problems. And it would be unlikely that two people had the same download failure.

This isn't a common issue; I haven't found anyone else reporting it in any game. I'm counting on the simple update to solve the problem. Let's hope so.

That's frustrating. I'll see what I can do, but it will still take a while before I can make an update.

That's very strange. No one has reported this problem to me before. I really don't know what it could be.

The only thing that comes to mind is that in this build, I hadn't configured the font for other languages. Is the game in English? If not, try changing the settings to English to see if that solves the problem.

Hello. That's strange, I tried several screen configurations and couldn't reproduce this issue. Have you tried changing the language?

This build uses an older version of my system. In a few weeks, I plan to update it to the current version. I hope that will solve the problem.

I think they refund the amount after a while. It's just to keep the curious away. It's not even a very high price for most people; I'm just very poor. 😂

It's been a long time since I've had a look at it so they may have changed the rules by now.  I don't know for sure.

Support got back to me by email, and that's enough to put my mind at ease. 😌

Thank you for being here and answering questions. Speaking only for myself, these explanations are enough to keep me satisfied for now. Allowing these explanations to arrive more quickly would certainly avoid all the worry.

Maybe an automatic email, a fixed text on the payout screen, or a message in the feed explaining the adverse situation could prevent a lot of tickets from being opened and reduce the workload.

It would also help if there were a clear explanation somewhere of the need to redo the tax interview and connect Paypal in the new mode, something we had to find out for ourselves and by reading each other's experiences here.

Note that we like Ichi.io very much, and what is worrying is the thought of having to abandon the platform due to a simple lack of communication.

I'm also from outside the US.

I think the increase in tariffs could be easily addressed by simply deducting it from the sale price. Perhaps a change in bureaucracy has led to a halt in the process of approving tax information.

But nothing justifies the lack of communication.

I read your comment and went to check my “payment processors” and realized that my PayPal was also connected in “legacy” mode.  🤷‍♀️ I connected on the new mode and hope that means something.

Did this fix work for you at all?

It would be much easier if an automatic email were sent to inform us of these pending issues, or a text message explaining the necessary steps were sent. Or better still, a human being reading the emails and providing the essential support. So many better options than simply ignoring us.

I've changed the access to my game to restricted, thus preventing more people from buying it.

I've also sent an email to support asking for confirmation that they exist. Nothing so far.

Can you at least help me with the following question?

"Is there a way to prevent more people from buying my game, at least during this time that the situation is not resolved, but keep the game available for those who have already bought it? If I delete my account, will the game still be available for download for people who have already purchased it?"

58 days in review. I've had no response from support, and the moderator of this forum has already told me that he can't do anything more.

Please, if you have your problem solved or at least receive any response from support, be sure to share it here.

Could you please ask for an explanation for the delay and lack of response?

This seems to be happening to several people. Is it a definitive problem, or is there an intention to correct it in the future? Will I eventually receive the money, or can I give up the idea of receiving payments from itch.io?

Is there a way to prevent more people from buying my game, at least during this time that the situation is not resolved, but keep the game available for those who have already bought it? If I delete my account, will the game still be available for download for people who have already purchased it?

Is there anything I can do to help resolve this situation or prevent this situation from happening in the future if it is resolved?

I've also sent these questions to support (request: 283773). If possible, ask them to reply to me by e-mail so that I know they exist. The existence of functional support is an important criterion for people to decide whether or not to use the site.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Another week has passed, and I have received neither money nor a response. My tax information is ok. Could you please inform the admins again?

I just realized that my tax information was out of date. I've redone the tax interview, I hope that solves the problem.

I understand it was my fault, but I don't think it would be difficult to program an automatic email notifying us of the date to update the tax information as soon as the date approaches.

Not to mention that I could have been informed of this lack in a response to the support request I made, it would have been a more useful response than no response at all, which is what I received.

Payout in review for 48 days. I tried to contact support but didn't receive a response.

Is itch.io having problems? It would be interesting if you were transparent about this.

I'm not thinking about it just yet, but after I publish the next update I should look into the possibility. At the moment I can't even afford the fee that Steam charges to publish there.

I'm still working. I had to take a break for a while, but I returned my full attention to this project a little over a month ago. I changed all the backgrounds to a more cartoonish look that goes along with the character designs. Right now I'm painting all the textures of the characters by hand. I posted a video on Discord in case you want to check it out. There are still several steps to be taken so I can't talk about deadlines, but I keep working and at some point, it will be ready.

It's not dead. I had some difficulties during development, first financially, then reconciling this project with other jobs I had to take on to pay the bills.

I recently decided to revise the entire project to facilitate future development, fixing bugs and adding mechanics. Due to a rough month, I haven't been able to rebuild the game yet, but I guarantee the wait will be worth it, I won't need to take so long for future updates.

Thanks! I've been warned about the transition issue and I've already changed it to the next bugfix update that should come out soon. I know very well what it's like to be broke. But you can support my game by helping me to promote it on the networks, evaluating with a score that you think is fair, or simply playing and telling me what you think I can do better, as you just did.  🙂

Thanks for the very good ideas, some had even crossed my mind, but I couldn't do it yet. In the case of Penny, I intend to put several different scenes and change according to the relationship with her, I haven't had time to do that yet.

As for Jane's panties, having taken them doesn't mean you kept them. In the scene where Brendon apologizes to Jane, if she asks him to throw away her panties, Brendon misses them. If she doesn't even talk about the panties, it's because Brendon never took the panties with him. This path is an easter egg, so it's supposed to be secret. But I owe you a way to let the player know if he has the panties or not.

These solutions or equivalents will come in the next updates, you can be sure. 😉

I confess that I hadn't thought of that. You're right, I should have put a clear thought like "Now I just have to wait, it's up to Brendon to act right now" or something like that.

The truth is that I only put Brendon's conditions for the final scene in this update because I was afraid that everyone would finish Nicole's chapter ignoring Brendon's anime quest. When I add the next chapter it won't be necessary to go back to Brendon to finish Nicole's chapter.

I believe that until the next chapter I have already thought of a way to inform the player that he is leaving content behind. I fear that everyone finishes the game too quickly and leaves thinking that the game has little content.

Thanks! There are still a lot of improvements to come, scenery clothes and I'm working on a more paint-like look for the entire game. Keep an eye.

Hello! On Mac, the save folder is "~/Library/Application Support/MaliXe Games/Steps 4 Happiness/".

But I've changed so much in this update that it's worth starting from the beginning. I will do my best to make sure this problem never occurs again.

At the moment I only posted the Windows version, the Mac and Linux version didn't fit in Ichi.io. I will look for the best option to leave the external download link and I will make these versions available soon. 😉

Thank you very much. I will be publishing a test version for supporters in the next few days and the next update with many improvements and the continuation of the story will probably come out next week. I hope to attract more supporters after that, this will allow me to speed up development for upcoming updates.

Thanks! I am working to bring the update as fast and as best as I can.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it.

Hahaha, You should have seen what they looked like in version 0.1. Thank you anyway.  ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯

Thanks. It was hard work creating the tools to make it all work, I am still making improvements to these tools to eliminate the bugs that have been reported to me. This project is very early and still has a lot to grow, so keep an eye on it.

Oops, here is the link: Discord

I took note of these bugs and I will check. Thank you very much!

Hi, you can help me with suggestions, recommending my game to more people, and reporting the bugs you find so I can fix them. If you find errors in the translation to your native language, please let me know. I have a server on the discord that is not very busy at the moment, but I would like people interested in helping me get together there. Here is the invitation: https://discord.gg/g5HGAYNk Thanks!

Thanks! The bugs are a surprise to me, but I've already modified my code in a way that I think will fix it. I created my shaders to have this aspect of illustrations, but I know that lighting is a problem. This week I managed to fix the shadows. I also created a tool to facilitate the adjustment of the lighting, this will improve the look. Over time I will improve the bad animations and everything that deserves to be improved, this project still has a lot to grow and I am very willing to make it happen.

Thank you very much!

I thought of two endings for now. I can't say what happens to not spoil it, but Nicole will have a lot of fun.

I'm glad you like it. you can be sure that I will keep updating, starting with the fixes.

I'm glad you had fun. I will release a version fixing these bugs before adding more content, so keep an eye out.

Wow, how many bugs! I need to fix this. Are you playing on Windows, Mac, or Linux? Try to lower the resolution and animations will get better. I hope the Italian translation doesn't have too many errors. Hehehe
