This is all there is. The zoom is the end

Pretty easy but cool. Maybe some tips:

  • Would be nice if the score and the time were not obfuscated like the rest
  • The elm debugger is still enabled in this build

Very funny and confusled my brain. The game is pretty impressive!

satisfying :)

so incredibly clean

Best game I’ve played this jam <3 5/5/5

Wonderfully clever introductions of new mechanics. It just really worked for me, many “Heh?? … Ah!” moments

Got stuck on the level with the clouds where you can pan pretty much arbitrarily left and right. Maybe there was something to be found but I didn’t get it.

If I just heard the pitch for the game idea I’d think it wouldn’t be fun. Seeing what you did with it proofs me wrong. Super juicy. Personal preference: the camera’s movement could be a bit less “heavy” and more “agile”

somehow I got negative blocks 👀. Anyway, impressive!

nice idea and very cursed :}

maybe a bit too stupidly simple, but very juicy indeed

The music design is beautiful and the concept works. The blue line is a bit unforgiving at the start since it travels faster than you (maybe that’s only in non-fullscreen mode; I’ve only played in the browser)

We had kind of similar ideas actually 🌼. Thanks for the game!

came for the gameplay, stayed for the chosen music :)

I really enjoyed the core concept and the music (you say it was made during the jam :brain_explode:) and I have two things I can suggest:

  • Save what the player placed and restore after failing
  • Just placing the fans correctly gets a bit boring after a while, so maybe try to limit the available fans even more etc.

I think with only these 2, the game would be even more fun!

Really clever levels. If this had a pause button to rearrange the platforms, this could be my favorite!

The idea is cool and as others have pointed out it doesn’t feel like your controlling the level, yet. Good job for 5 hours tho!

Super nice ideas that could be extended further! Very well done. I liked the little moments like when I got “pacifist” in a level and thought: “Cool, I got an achievement! … Oh…”

Thanks <3

I got stuck on a (seemingly) immovable point of darkness, and I couldn’t redirect the darkness

Yes, these are more common the higher you go and they are a bit too hard to redirect around. Have you tried deliberately chopping off parts of the top using darkness, to lead it to a better direction?

Btw, what is the level select with the numbers for?

It’s not really a “level select”, it’s a “select one experienced day in the plant’s diary”. It was an idea I had at the end when polishing things up. I thought, why not imply that every day is the same for the plant (which again could maybe interpreted as the plant being delusional about what happens etc). I guess that’s a stretch but why not introduce some things that make the player spin their own interpretations :B

Thanks! I didn’t know what L-systems are and I didn’t use engines or premade physics stuff. Plants grow the following way: The likelyhood of randomly generating a new sub-branch above a branch is the sum of the distances to the lights (each ^(-0.5) with a maximum). The only other check is that the amount of branches in one height doesn’t exceed 10. Also, see the description, I did finish the game in time :), if you know a safe and easy way to “inject” built js into an html file, I’m all ears

The concept is really cool with nice art. A lot of improvement ideas have already been suggested but here I go: This could be amazing if the characters were behaving a lot differently instead of following the player and mashing (like, I didn’t get the archers to attack). If there was a way to know your health, I missed it. Lastly, the menu buttons are only detected when you click above them (in full screen and small screen). Thanks for making this game :)

<3

So polished <3. The movement is innovative and interesting. There are times where you get caught very shortly after you start the game, so maybe spawning the light a bit further is better

Slaps as hard as its difficulty so I only got to 10 :) Great execution!

Edit: made it to 16

I liked it, overall pretty sweet. Hope I didn’t miss a secret in the chat :) Maybe the flappy bird could use a bit more polish.

These are nice ideas for mini games. The car and apple one are fine difficulty-wise but the tower stacking requires memorizing or luck to be able to catch the last blocks. Speeding up your player movement the same way you speed up the blocks or giving a visual marker on the screen where they will fall could be one solution. Anyway, very cool that you entered this jam, and keep rocking!

simple but really fun!

Nice idea, polished experience. undo does not seem to work so it’s a bit annoying that the game decreases your screams even if they don’t do anything

Juicy and super fun, just the right difficulty. I’d say that left/right arrow would be nicer to maneuver than mouse buttons

Mad impressive for a 2 day jam! Amazing gameplay, editor, graphics, sound fx and there are only very minor bugs, for example when you launch onto a slope

And oh, order I did! Tastetastic idea. If you had more ways to interact, this could be :chef_kiss:

Sweet idea. I think what sometimes prevents registering the click on another plant is that your own plant is between the cursor and the other plant. That’s just me guessing, tho.

This was cool!

same as the comment below, I had to spam hundreds of targets… But overall: Juicy game, thanks!

Very chill and a really great execution of the idea! Thanks for making this game, I liked it a lot

very cute idea. Once you flip the screen in your head it’s like you’re just playing flappy bird with a pipe :)

a classic

Surprisingly well-designed! Earned my best rating.

If you still want to try it out, running it now should work.

But if running the is still not possible, I am very sorry.

It was not meant to be something bad, especially regarding the jam's theme. Your game was quite fun!

thumbs up. Fun!
