Hello,
I'm making this post just to know if it's possible to update the game with bug fixes or if we should wait for the rating phase to be over?
Thanks
Kind of weird game, feel like it could have higher stakes as the weird ugly monster never seemed to be a threat. Once the green bar was low I just returned home and recharged, so loop was very simple and staightforward.
Blowing up the world was cool tho and I liked the music. Had to read the comments to realise I mined with the mouse
The character's movement feels nice, I like how it takes some time to accelerate and then is kind of "slidy", feels like it matches the rest of the game nicely. The weapons feel weird at times. Maybe they need to signal better to the player their state and perhaps try to think of something the player can win while he loses the abillity to shoot... The character's motion freezing when a certain weapon is at its limit also feels kind of bad, some adjustments would be needed I believe.
Either way, I enjoyed the challenge of dodging the enemies and levelling up the weapons. The fact that we need to "sacrifice" our upgrades in order to make it to the next area is also very interesting. I opened the door but was left with a red knucle and a horde of red enemies to deal with which put my skills to the test, that was cool
Wow, was not expecting a reaction like this, thank you! :))
We have done very little playtesting but are realizing some things may be a bit too hard to understand, so some polishing is definitely needed. We are working on some bug fixes already that hopefuly will go in once the jam officially closes, so maybe you can try it again after that "patch".
Thank you so much for the comment, cheers!
Nice tiny experience. As I progressed through the forest my involvement grew as well. Loved seeing all the animals dancing in happiness and spreading the love yeeeaaahhhh. I was thinking a bad ending could happen and that it would be hilarious, but this one in specifc is not coool >:((((
ahaha fun calm little walk I had, it is nice :)
Interesting little game. I usually enjoy these types of games where the main core is repeated but we are able to upgrade our player with better gear. I like how the points we get for upgrading are the number of lives we have left when we finished the race. However, I felt a bit injusticed for not having the points from the previous races. This game can have the potential to create really interesing dynamics, where I'll sacrifice my 1st place in order to have a better horse/piñata in the next one. Either way, great concept for the jam, all the elements you have are working well together :)
wow, this is insane ahaha. crazy game that got me going crazy pushing my keyboard's keys as time moved forward. played a few times, not sure if there's a win state or not (i feel like the drawing inside the circle on the right gets more completed the further we go?)
either way, this is really well done and amcoplished, well done!
Great addicting game. So simple yet so polished and fun. The AI is hard at first, but after a few tries I finally managed to beat it. Gameplay gets tense at times, very high pressure. The only thing that could elevate the experience would be a local co-op mode, would be cherry on top for real. Great job, amazing!
Hey, thank you so much for playing and the kind words! Unfortunately we have a few bugs that are making the experience a bit rougher than expected, but the space ship parts are supposed to go in that structure in the mars section. Tell me if you end up doing it, would love to know what you thought of what happens next :)
Cheers!
Hey, thank you so much for the comment!
I'm relatively new to doing proper sound in games and mixing is something that I still need to undertand. A slider in the settings would have been ideal, but with the time we had, it ended up being forgotten ahah.
Yeah, those are very valid design points. The idea would have been to have clearer more distinct sections between action and puzzling, but we focused on having something solid first and then if we had time left, create more enemy variants and content.
Thank you for the feedback and valuable insight!
I'm happy to hear you had a good experience :)
This was a nice experience. It's very rare for me to play visual novels and this one seems very solid to me. The dialogue is well written and love the fact you can go back to places you've been and interact with the same character and have different outcomes.
Not sure if there are multiple endings, but would love to know what the true missing letter is ahah
Nice game :)
This is so cooool! Such a simple idea, but works so well, nice job! Loved timing my runs and jumps along with locking enemies inside rooms to facilitate my life. Really nice :)
The first jump on the 2nd level is kind of sketchy, as I did not know I could jump mid fall, so took me a few tries to figure that out. I also fell on the (spoiler?) washing machine room and got soft locked...
Nice game, pretty chill, just with the dings when you grab a piece!
Liked the sliding of the car, although I found it a bit too difficult to do corners without hitting. Managed to do the whole 1st race, dodging obstacles and getting into a good flow.
2nd race was frustrating right from the start, as the tight turns mixed with enemies were a bit too overwhelming.
Love the addition of a level editor, but would've liked to begin with a clear canvas as I couldn't manage to remove the shapes that were there already.
The car doesn't seem to break too well, making it a bit more responsive would make this game a great experience I would say
Hey, thank you so much for playing! Thanks for the feedback, I really should have focused on teaching the player the controls and how to play before dropping him into the level. Due to a lack of time, I did not do the tutorial and did the level, which should have been the other way around ahah. I might update the game after the submissions open, but I'm still not sure, as I have been kind of busy.
Thank you again for playing, means a lot! :)
edit: perhaps I can explain the controls
You move and jump with WASD and SPACE respectively. G or TAB opens your pager (the info icon that beeps on the right of the screen). E is used for interactions with your hands, so killing the tanks in the first spawn area, crafting the cells and interacting with the antennas is done with that key.
Pressing Q switches weapons, but it only unlocks after activating the first antenna.
The tanks don't have collision due to buggy implementation (my bad), but in order to destroy them, you need to interact with them on the side, where the gears from their tires are. Hope this can be helpful to you, or to someone who wishes to play in the future
Cheers :D
Hey, I found the concept interesting, however I was a bit frustrated with the way you have to play.
In the first level, I thought I had broken the piece with the blue brick (right at the beginning), only to find out that does not work. At first I though it was a bug, but after further thinking, I realised you could climb up the level and walk on clouds. I think you should better tell players what works or does not, cause I was playing thinking it was not the intedend way.
In addition, the game needs some polish like music and sound effects, to create better game feel and engagement
PS: I didn't find the secret animation :(
Amazing way to insert the theme, it's brilliant. Love how you have to find places to deliver things by exploring. However, the walking around got boring a few time later, but I think that is something to tweak in the player's character. The music was loud for me and my pc was already at minimum ahah.
Fun quick game with a smart concept
