I was a little confused during this. When I started, I looked around the room to interact with something and it took me a little bit to realize I just had to walk into the door lmao. I kept trying to walk forward and kept glitching back. Wasn't sure if it was intentional or truly a glitch. I think sound effects and a thought out narrative could really help the game, but I love the idea and it's got tons of potential. Nice job!
Enter is a bit of a weird key for jump, but I get the idea. I feel like wasd should make the frog jump, even without the space and I think the camera should follow the frog, as I tend to get really far ahead of the camera and have to wait for it to catch up. I actually wrote this whole review while waiting for the camera lmao. Well done!
So, a few notes. The jump only reset if the middle of the box sprite hit the ground, which wasn't always the case. On the second level, I got stuck right before the end because I jumped and landed in the gap between the bridge and the ground and then could move. I also found it weird how the mechanics weren't actually explained? I spent like 3 mins on level 2 because I didn't realize you could pick up the box, and then I spent another 3 minutes sitting there cause I didn't realize you could throw the box with momentum. Sound effects would be lovely and would add a lot to the game, and I think an end screen would be great, since winning only takes you back to stage 2. The time travel mechanic could also be explored more, but all in all I think you did a nice job so well done!
I liked the atmosphere of everything, but there were a few glitches and it was a little confusing. The exposition in the beginning doesn't really make sense and I, as the player, never figured out why there was blood flashing on my screen or what was happening. I ran into the generator room and the door locked behind me which I thought was odd? None of the interact keys seemed to be working either. I would see the items and they would highlight and prompt to interact, but nothing would happen if I tried and I ended up getting soft locked in that room. The idea's pretty good though
i am smart. here is my little horror game hehe https://kuuoi.itch.io/jobdescription
Thanks for playing! I thought about making him more dangerous, but I didn't have time to truly balance him and I didn't want to make him too hard in fear of no one wanting to play cause it was too difficult. I definitely intended to add those things, but sadly ran out of time. Thanks for the comment!
