thank you! :)

Thank you for pointing out the camera movement haha. That was actually a bit tricky to get right! XD

Definitely closer to snake than gauntlet haha but yeah, we put in a couple small elements in there.

hahaha thanks for trying it out 🤣🤣

I think I did previously hear that the difficulty doesn't ramp up enough so that will be something to think about moving forward.

oh very strange to hear about that bug. I haven't seen that yet. I'll keep an eye out for that.

And thanks for the comments!

thanks armd for the kind comments! i think we're both hoping to work on this a little bit further, so stay tuned! ;)

thanks so much for playing and for commenting! :) it was a lot of fun to work on and wouldn't have been possible if you hadn't hosted the jam so thank you for doing that!

yes. but don't forget the racing game element. that one is what really seals the deal.

Thanks for the comment! The specials are definitely something which we need to think a bit more on :)

this is fun haha. definitely very hard as my attention is split between the two windows. one thing about it is that you don't really feel much urgency to move the character on the left. a fun concept could be to have that player be "chased" by something so that you are compelled to keep moving.

looking forward to seeing where you take it!

this is really nice! a ton of polish for a jam entry. looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

it looks very pretty and the movement and attacks are really smooth. can't wait to see where you take this!

this is pretty fun! i ran out of swords the first couple of times. the variety in speed of enemies is pretty key here.

do the different players have any difference apart from the sprites?

one thing i would like to see would be to also have the option of using the up and down arrow keys for player movement! as a lefty i prefer to press the space bar with my left hand instead XD

(1 edit)

i personally love the absurdity of this. it's actually surprisingly (?) a lot of fun and having followed you building this i can't help but crack up when playing it. i do genuinely think you have something here, so i would love to see you build off this. maybe incorporate one more game into it right?

this is great. a ton of fun. the music is awesome as well. i'd love to pick your brain on how you handled some of the rhythm aspects of this.

also, the new addition of the ghosts jamming out is incredible. i found myself bopping with them XD

man... this is hard! XD but this is super cool. well done!

could you add an easy mode so that people like me can get past 30 seconds? :P

this is so much fun to play!

i absolutely love asteroids-esque physics. what a great submission! :)

very cool concept! excited to see where it goes!

as artsy mentioned, this is really polished and a ton of fun to play! this is a great entry and a fun take on the gauntlet theme.

this was super heartfelt and like the others mentioned, the artwork was really unique and compelling. the limited visibility and how the tiles pop in and out really adds to the feeling of being lost in the woods as well.

thanks for trying it out! it's definitely a wip but we're happy with what we could put together in the limited time.

we were going to try to find a third party track on jamendo but last night at 3am i got the beat bug and couldn't resist trying to make a simple track so those were what ended up making it into the jam XD

actually! just realized! it's very possible that it's because i don't have a cext for non-linux platforms! that would absolutely tank the performance which might lead to the jumpiness. i'll try taking a look at what is needed for cross-compiling!

i wonder if it has something to do with the framerate! i use a delta time, so if it is running into issues running smoothly, the movement will end up very jumpy. i'll have to think about what the right way to solve this is :)
also, i think a v0.0.0.0.0.2 will include momentum / some basic physics and as a result, interpolation! perhaps that would help.
anyway, thanks for trying it out!!
