excited to see some monetization transparency

...coming up on that 1 year mark and still no word

The rating has ended...

but, I rated your game a few days ago... I do not always leave a comment.

i ran into a few issues...the opening newscast cut scene was not even close to synced with the audio(i gave the game a second play and did not make it full screen and it was closer but it still seemed a bit off)...

later...i was killed because the character wanted to explain she picked up one of her tapes while the radio was charging -what i mean is, while she is talking, the bugs were killing her ...the audio levels for the dialogue were all over the place -'ready to boom' was much louder than the opening narration on the first dumpster...there is no incentive to kill all the bugs...apart from the voice nothing says this is a girl fox...being sent back to the start is very, very punishing  ...the keys you have chosen are spread out, zxc asd qwe sdf are - are all within reach, you are forcing the player to look away from the screen

those are all my negatives...now for the positives

characters stand out well with the environment, they could have more detail, but keeping them simple like this adds to the flash style games - like really, it looks and plays like a flash game - in a good way...i can tell there was alot of time and effort put into the voice acting, just equalize those levels a little better...the camera zooms looked good, but let me control foxy while she is talking(mentioned above getting killed), that or let me start kicking miss ant after the third tape...which reminds me, the audio tapes could be checkpoints, since they seem to be scattered in that way...

the negatives look bigger  than the positives because of the explanations and solutions, do not be discouraged, the game has lots of potential that a 9 day jam does not usually allow

kif

yup, my game is probably best on mobile ...using 2 hands to drive lol

dos88 (can be found on itch) did 9 of the tracks and i supplied the other 4

i will check out your fox boom box in the morn when I get to the pc

thanks for playing

kif

this version lacks the teleport & reload arm... when that is added, there is no real penalty to spamming it for a full reload

the bullets seem too effective to be fired at such a high rate

what you have shows promise

well done

kif

thank you

thank you

definitely inspired by the original arcade game from the 70s

thanks for playing

glad you all enjoyed it

kif

3 for audio...

was it the tires? lol

i play with them off and usually do a music shuffle or 2 before I start my runs

the 5s totally make up for the theme getting a 1 in my book ...especially for the 3 categories I wanted to max out (spent the most time on)

again, thanks for playing

some see the theme, some do not

thanks for playing

(1 edit)

this is copyright infringement ...a green guy wearing almost all black with a blocky body ... named kip ...?

i am joking ofcourse

good game

kif

you mean 'commenting on their games'

75 games rated and I have 21 ratings

rating a game does not tell the rated who the rater was

the one problem with the game... my fat thumbs make selecting the right bit of wire difficult lol ... cool idea and well executed with your limited time

There are a handful of spelling and grammatical (grammar) errors.  I will not hold that against you.  If you are ever in need of a native speaker to fix things use the community tab

thanks

trip - might be the word most associated with this game in this gamejam lol

glad you enjoyed the 'trip' lol

no worries

9 of the 13 tracks were posted by dos88 here on itch ( aspect of the game you CAN enjoy without motion sickness...and include in future games ) ...check em out

i did the other 4 tracks

thanks for giving it a shot though

thank you for your honesty ... certain portions of the game would have really messed you up later in the lap...so it is probably good you stopped when you did

lol

thanks for giving it a shot though

unfortunately, i do not think there is a way to avoid the 'light flashes' or the potential for motion sickness...they are sort of built into the game's aesthetic (the way the game works)

thank you for giving the game a try

good luck in the jam

everything letipas said, lol... like really ...pretty much

gives me the warioware and wii minigames vibes, so, well done

and thanks for giving my game a go... and yes, trances are a good thing

(i forgot to rate this yesterday...corrected)

good game as well...for your game...catchy tunes nice pixel work and a cool mechanic

i feel like i am zoomed out and can not see what is going on

good job completing the jam

...also, interesting title, he probably will

hahaha

the 'me' is gonna throw everyone

nice

i dig the art style...the silhouettes...great atmosphere

i lost my crew over and over...they were slaughtered right infront of me...and my kids were watching...

oh the horror....oh the humanity

that being said, the music did not fit the rest of the game.

great idea though...(and i do not have kids)

the moving level made me rage quit

thanks for that

good job

made it to 174, but could not save my score to the leaderboard...oh well

great job... like frogger with a gun as a platformer.  I liked it

Nice prototype.  I was expecting a level 2

good job...leave them wanting more

the punch could be larger...really struggled to get rid of the baddies

nice entry

I was lost in the dark

Kindof FTL-like... very cool idea... I would like to see it a bit more fleshed out

I found some time today and made a mode select...original and the rest of the versions...pretty self explanatory.

check it out

https://gd.games/kifchris/nightdriver

...so that is what is going on in my computer

nice project

Man, the platforms are the farthest they can possibly be, which became really frustrating...maybe build up to that difficulty/distance

i did like the character jiggle

I made a 3d perspective game long before it was an engine feature.  If anyone is curious, I am still using v5.1.158 ...without 3d

Originally the game was endless and used only plain white rectangles.  As hypnotic as that silent game was, it did get/feel a bit boring.

If you would like to experience a lap with 1 of the 7(8) 'road-modes'...I can make a build that allows it, but you will probably get bored and want to go back to the 8 modes...(mode 8 is the white/purple flashy bit before the UFO... and I do not want to give people, or me seizures lol)...or is it 9 modes?  I don't have the time to make those builds until the weekend.

a white UFO, a shapepainter, and a white rectangle...

After I posted this game I did make a prototype for something that uses the same perspective concept but instead of open road, it is a tunnel in space... or a messed up clock...or maybe alien intestines ...idk...and... but uses arrow keys(can still run and experience on mobile, but you won't experience the full effect on mobile)...arrow keys allow you to alter(slightly) the path ahead of you.  4 sprites for this game...I went all out ...jk.  I am probably not going to work on tunnel pilot further...just an idea.

Thanks for playing

Thank you so much.  That is really nice praise(coming from the first place game...you).  That whole first paragraph...thank you.

I probably should add a light warning like you did ...and a motion sickness warning too(I have sickened many people's motions... no... I have caused motion sickness for many people).

It was actually made in a few hours and then I spent a week messing with the...  'walls'...'guardrails'... whatever those things are called.

I would rather undersell and blow minds, than oversell and disappoint(the thumbnail).

I am surprised at how well the game has been received honestly.

thank you

thank you

thank you

kif

undertaking puzzles and a mechanic might have been overscope...it happens alot in game jams ...all we can do is learn from our ways ...and fix bugs

there was alot of work put into the game, do not let the bugs get you down

(making puzzle games is hard...i do not make them)

(placeholder) squares are the art of the future
