Very nice work. Seems like you have a great team! The art looks great and the light of the fire is very realistic. Also the movement feels very smooth.
The intro and the menu set the expectations lowers but once you enter the game everything changes.

Great look & feel. Congrats!

Like the idea and the cover - really made me want to click the game

other than that ...all good

Haha. I can relate to this game.. every day

Looks very very polished. Great art and great attention to details

Great! Look&feel are very polished (meanus, animations, controls). Also great art

The art is amazing! For sure it's word expanding the style into a full game

Thank you!

Great concept!

Wow. Nice! Very very cool idea man. If you have the time ...definitely worth upgrading the assets (even though the pixel art is also nice)

Maybe I'm biased since we have similar ideas but I like it!

Original idea

Hah. Such an original idea. As a cat owner i think it's amazing!

Happy you enjoy them. Let me know what do you think I should focus next

Nice concept. And amazing art!

Nice concept. Great job! And the art is amazing..
Small feedback: maybe add a small intro/tutorial to explain the controls (tried all the keys until finding "o" ..and yes, then I saw in the description page of the game)

Thaaaaaannnnkkk youuu! Feedback means a lot

Great art and great concept. Please do finish the game outside the jam!

Love the art and the concept!

Very cool vibes. Continue this project. Great job!

Haha the title sounds familiar.

I am unable to Play tho' (tutorial works for me but Play button doesn't on Windows/Firefox)

Hi! I just released a new game Last Warmth.

The snow came early and didn't stop. You have one campfire and a lot of cold nights ahead. By day you gather wood, stone and food. At dusk you build walls and fires. At night the Frostlings come for the flame, and every night is colder than the last.

There's no ending, just the next night. Your score is how many you survive.

  • hand-inked storybook art
  • meet freezing strangers at far fires and bring them home as Kin
  • the farther you walk, the wilder the land gets
  • plays in the browser on desktop and phone
  • English, Romanian, Spanish, French, German

It's free to play here: https://kibbitz.itch.io/last-warmth

I'm a solo dev, so any feedback really helps. Which night did you reach?

it's not state of the art ..art but can't be that ugly tho' ... :(

ha, yes, same campfire feeling. did you get through the first night? curious which one you reached (you may find the difference)

Maybe because I love Paris, but this idea is simply amazing.
Low FPS for me tho' :(

Enjoy!

hi.
my thoughts on the questions:

The game opens on a cinematic, which you can skip. Should I keep it, shorten it, or move it? => keep it. the player can always choose to skip it.

Is the first "aha" the fusion (water + fire = steam), or should a fight come first? => fight first. showing as much of the game as possible fast.

At what moment did you almost stop playing? That is the answer I need most. => the walkthrough is quite long and i'm doing it on auto pilot from a certain moment.

A long guided tutorial, or an easy zone 1 with hints? I offer both through the "used to it / new" choice. Does that make sense to you? => easy zone 1 with hints. don't keep "use to" option. also I saw you have tracking on user behavior. try to randomize to users the 2 types if you can with 50-50% chances and then track how each works with PostHog or what you're using for tracking.
hope it helps

Very interesting idea. Reminds me of Conway's game of life

Love the concept, and that reload animation is worth it on its own. Great jam entry!

This is wild. Going from a single transistor all the way to running DOOM on a CPU you built yourself is such a cool idea. It's clear how much work went into this, especially as a solo dev. Congrats on the early access launch!

Really enjoyed this one. Mixing ingredients and then rolling dice with what you made feels great, and it's nice that it plays just as well on my phone. Impressive for a free-time project. Looking forward to seeing where it goes!
