i've checked the quality guidelines and i'm sure there's no problem with my project, it is basically just a simple dvd video player project, nothing more nothing less. i don't see why it has to be unindexed as spam when looking at the other low quality and unrelated results that show up when you type in dvd video player.

my project dvd video player https://jugule.itch.io/dvd-video-player cannot be found when searching dvd video player on the search bar after more than a week of uploading. i also already made sure to not check the Unlisted in search & browse checkbox. can a mod check this issue?

thx a lot.

funny small game i had a good laugh

is there an itch.io API for dealing with in-game purchases? i wanted to create a game where users don't need to buy my full game, but are able to access them for free, and if they want to they can buy in-game items on the game using itch.io's payment system.

i know, but i'm talking about a library to help create more complex graphics on the terminal. welp, doesn't really matter anyway i'll just try finding them myself.

are there any libraries that you can recommend to help create text-based games on the terminal? a C/C++ library would be preferable.

i don't , i left the tags blank on the Metadata > Engines & tools page. I didn't even put "PixiJS" on all the settings on my game. it was generated automatically as i released the game. maybe it read the contents of my game and used several signals to check which engine i was using to automatically add PixiJS.

ok then, i'll try contacting support

all of them? i am referring to this part here

i checked it already, the game engine is  generated automatically even when i left it blank.

itch automatically adds pixiJS on the made with tag on my game, how does itch knows which engine i use and how do i remove them?

fair enough, though i still spend less than 72 hours in total to build this game.

my submission office rush got removed, i read the rules and i don't seem to break any of them so why would i get removed from the jam? when obviously there was another game that clearly breaks the rules like https://itch.io/jam/scorejam19/rate/1522264  which did not got removed instead.

upto you, but the hacker can resend it as many times as he wants though. i personally would left it cuz it looks funny

game has good graphics and very fun to play, oh and i think someone hacked your leaderboards after checking it

nice simple game, enjoyed it

the ctrl key for wall jump is a bad idea, my left hand is touching the wasd key and my right is on an awkward position of holding the ctrl and space key (when my left hand is blocking the ctrl key). it could've been made automatic instead.

the cheese colors makes it pretty confusing to pick it or not, but good aesthetics other than that

i like that you picked the levels by controlling the character, and it has good controls with the dash mechanics

difficulty is too hard when the game just started, you should put less lasers at the start and make it progressively harder

good game design concept for speedrunning, too bad there's no leaderboards feature for that

only one button needed but has lots of control depth, very well made game.

the simple controls make it a very fun game! though the UI can be improved, like the name input color contrast and the x button that is nearly invisible

controls are extremely hard and u get extra dizzy if your cursor went too far from the center

it's updated now.

right, i forgot about the custom collision masks on the chair, thx for reminding me!

great idea, reminds me of the coin change problem but with stairs instead

awesome design + simple and addictive gameplay. loved the game man

nice, but i'm getting dizzy easily by the controls.

ok it's now been fixed, you can try the finished game :)

yeah, it seems i forgot to save after finishing the project and just realized it after uploading that i lost all my game progress. i'm getting it to work asap right now.

i see that many of the songs that are produced in the music community tends to be more open to the idea of sampling. where you get to take a portion of the sound from another artist's song and use it on your own without the need to fear about copyrights and backlash from the community. you can see lots of such examples on song remixes, even on popular songs and they seem to thrive especially not just on the underground scene but on more popular platforms as well such as tiktok sound remixes / sampling & other forms of memes.

you can see some of the more popular mainstream songs that also uses sampling from other songs such as

Future - Mask Off which has sampled songs from a 70s soul music called Prison Song

DJ Khaled - Wild Thoughts which sampled from Santana - Maria Maria

and much more which there is too much to mention.

of course, this should not be compared to pure plagiarism. which is the act of purely copying a song without any modifications. this article might explain better what The difference between plagiarism and sampling is.

now back on topic, when i started delving into the indie game community, it felt overwhelming that the guidelines of copyright infringements are very strict, to the point where someone using an open source art could get some backlash for simply not crediting all of the assets used on their game. which i'm not saying that to not credit someone is a good thing either. but it felt very compelling to see lots of hate towards the freedom of modification of assets on your game in a free and open way just like how songs are created, without getting copyrighted to oblivion or called out by the masses for simply using an asset / song that was used on a previous game.  i mean, you are simply creating a free game without any profits for the fun of making games and it hurts nobody, just like how you simply create remixes of your favorite artists as a tribute to his artistry. what difference does it make to create your own mario version as a tribute to your favorite video game without getting yourself copyrighted, content removed for having a mario asset on your game for copyright infringement towards the original mario.

i know that this topic is more controversial on the indie community where people seem to be more divided on this issue, but i'm wiling to hear why it seems to be extremely hateful to the idea of a more open community like how the music community does with its sampling.

when going to the you die area, if you turn left you just keep falling down infinitely.

awesome job, it has smooth animations and simple gameplay
