Hey everyone! We’re thrilled to announce that Clipping Mask is officially live on itch.io! During the last week of January, a team of 10 of us took on the Global Game Jam 2026, and we couldn’t be prouder of what came out of it.
The Idea
- When the theme “Masks” dropped, we wanted to do something unexpected. Instead of going the obvious route, with disguises, hiding faces, horror, we asked ourselves: what else is a mask? Then it clicked: a clipping mask. That little trick designers use every day to hide and reveal layers. What if the whole world worked like that? From that spark, Clipping Mask was born: a puzzle-platformer where you play as a scrappy raccoon navigating a hand-drawn paper world, armed with one unusual tool: a draggable mask that controls what reality gets to show you.
How It Works
- The mechanic is deceptively simple. You drag a rectangular mask across the screen, and it reveals, or hides, parts of the level beneath it. Hidden platforms materialise. Secret passages open up. Traps vanish…
What We Built
- 8 fully hand-illustrated levels, each one drawn from scratch by our art team
- Puzzles that start gentle and gradually get sneaky
- A raccoon protagonist that we honestly might be a little too attached to
- All of it made in one week, by a team of 10 people
Play It! (itch.io page) The game runs in browser, but we recommend downloading the Windows build for the smoothest experience. If you give it a try, please leave a rating or a comment, it means the world to us
