Thanks, that's such high paise coming from you!

Glad you found it helpful. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the game. Good luck!

RIP

Really cool game! I liked the concept and the style of game. The movement was perfect for the style of game and the gun play was good. The graphics were simple and clean making the game very intuitive. I would add a ammo counter on screen though to make the limited ammo feature a bit more clear.  Also the room with the spikes that moved across and you need to stay in-between felt out of place in difficulty, it felt like they should be in a precision platformer not a stickman physics ragdoll game, I would make them more forgiving / move them so they are later in the game when the player has more experience. I appreciate this is a skill issue but they felt out of place and frustrating compared to the fun challenge they could be.

Overall,  good entry, I think this game has potential! Well done.

(1 edit)

Fun game, I liked the concept and execution of the game. The art and music are great, well done with them. The tutorial was clear and quick which is always nice. If I were to give any criticism it would be to add a slightly higher gravity multiplier when falling as I feel like I take a while to land.

Overall really good entry, well done!

Thanks for playing!

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the feedback and for checking it out. A lack of proper tutorial is definitely an issue which I need to fix. However here is a basic rundown:

Run around and collect upgrade tokens and when you have enough to upgrade your jump go to a shelter/checkpoint and interact with it. This will upgrade your jump letting you jump 1 block higher and access more of the level, rinse and repeat.

There are also collectables scattered throughout the level for you to find.

For controls and what different things look like check the main itch page.

Fun game! I loved the concept, very retro arcade-y/bullet hell,. Personally I found it a bit too hard and the lack of any checkpoints (or at least ones that I reach) made it a bit frustrating. I think this is partially due to the control. This is mainly a skill issue but I would have appreciated a skill slider adjusting spawn rates or health amounts. The art and music were great, felt perfect for the game and it ran very smoothly!

Overall great game, Well done!

Thanks for your comment and praise! Glad the controls felt ok as well given its a platformer.

Wow! This is really cool, impressive to be done in just 1 week! The art is amazing, really well done. I like the concept and atmosphere of the game it is great and the art and audio tie it all together.  I wish there was more to do at the town, you have a really cool dialogue system but unless I missed it you can't interact with the npcs that much, it felt like this game could have a Stardew valley style character system with quests to get certain fish for people. I liked the fishing mechanic but I would make the hook go down by itself all the time to make it a bit more difficult or maybe have a difficulty setting. The boat movement on the waves was cool but it sometimes felt a bit unnatural.  Also if there is free inventory space I wish when you fished an item it was automatically placed in the first free spot.

Overall really impressive. Well done!

Very cool! I liked the concept and the way you could learn the movement and how to solve parts of the world, I also liked the storm mechanic but some sort of sound effect / visual indicator it is happening would have been nice and made it more atmospheric.  Art was good but maybe some more variation in the tyles as it felt a bit same-y. Also I got lost quite easily, maybe use tiles and sharks a bit more to initially guide the player to one of the items or have some sort of compass system telling you roughly where to go although you could argue it would remove from the exploration factor of the game so depends what your going for with the game.

Overall fun game, Well done!

Fun game! Cool twist on the classic tile-matching game. The 4 in a row aspect seemed difficult and rng based to get, but to some degree that is the nature of the game.  In the storm phase there seemed to be very little penalties for getting high on the rain bar and not fixing it, maybe switch it so tornadoes or storm clouds cant be removed unless the rain bad comes back down again to make it more of an important feature. The art and music were ok.

Overall the game was good and fun to play, well done!

Very cool concept and execution !!

Ayy nice one. Cool concept and well executed. Well done

Can't wait!

Well done on the win!

Thanks!

Very nice! I love the concept and the graphics

Fun game, im bad and found it difficult but if thats what ur going for don't change it. Graphics were cool, movement felt quite good, some bugs with enimies not de-spawing on death. Overall very good!

Fun game. Not much to criticise, I was confused on how to play at the start but overall it was very good!

Fun little game. Took me reading the comments to realise Lshift is run, maybe add some sort of controls feature in the future? Cool game play but the controls felt a bit off. Overall good job!

Fun little game! Nice concept and well executed. There were a few visual glitches but not much more i can criticise the game about. Good movement, intuitive level design, nice art style. Well done!

Yes, sound is defiantly on my list when I continue/remake this. I'm not sure about a level select. Possibly have some sort of progress save then unlock level select upon compleating the game?

ahhh ok, thanks. Maybe if you contine this project try have a check to make sure the purple cloud doesn't obstruct the player or remove it?

Fun game, would be nice with some more intuitive puzzles got stuck after going through the laser room past the hanger, opend the door to a gap into the void

Fun game. Nice art style. Could be done a bit better, maybe have the whole map on screen to make a bit more fun. Good job overall!

Fun game overall, good sounds and good idea for a game. Found the gameplay to be repetitive and long, I think rounds should be shorter or some other element added to keep gameplay interesting.

Cool game. I think it should have multiple endings or some sort of replay ability.

Fun concept, I found it quite confusing but with a bit of work and maybe a tutorial style level to slowly introduce the player to the mechanics it could become a fun game!

Nice atmosphere, but as you said not finished. The purple cloud makes it impossible to progress unless I'm missing something. There is a gun in the game if you press f which seems odd. And a monkey head with seemingly no purpose? It looked like a nice idea but confusing.

Shame something went wrong with game upload..

Fun game. Nice use of the theme. Found myself getting stuck on some edges quite a bit but overall smooth controls. Great graphics and sound. Good Job!

Fun little game. Good job. found the time thing to be not that useful personally. Would be nice if it could be turned on at any time and not effect the players speed and things. Overall good game!

Very fun game. I am glad to be able to brush my teeth once more

No problem. hahah, no that was amazing. dad jokes the best ones

Really fun game, great use of the theme. I may just be bad but at least to me the saws seemed to be up for too long making it really difficult to make progress without wating around for a while. Had a few times where i hit spikes on the side of a block when standing on top. Overall amazing!

Very good. Fun game. Loved the puzzles and level design. Really cool use of the theme!

Its quite confusing, if there was some sort of teaching mechanic implemented it may make the game more fun or just being more lenient with the recipies.

Thanks, yeah that may be the ending. If so it's just a bad ending ha ha. I should have forced you the game to make it clear.
