Little money and much trouble, true words my friend. Let's keep at it.

Puzygamer,

Hey there! I'd love to have you promote/review my games. I make minimalist, experimental games. Both of my games were made entirely by myself.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for the feedback and taking the time to play through the game! I enjoyed the Let's Play video, especially seeing the sped up portion as you tried to find the last painting!

Steve T, I have two games that I'd like reviewed!

Studio Name:

Gary The Bard LLC

Name Of Game:

The Cartographer's Tale

Quick Bio of Game:

The Cartographer's Tale is a 2D/3D minimalist, experimental platformer. Players are tasked with exploring a VERY dark cave to locate 16 cave paintings. The cave paintings are randomly placed in the cave for each playthrough. The game's real plot is told via the cave paintings.

How long the Game was in development and if it's still in development, early access, or complete:

The game was in development for 11 days. It's complete, but I may release a patch to address some areas that I feel could be improved. I made the game entirely by myself. I created all of the 3D models, 2D art, textures, music, and sound effects. I also handled all of the programming, writing, and narration.

Why you became a game developer in the first place:

I grew up loving and playing video games. I always knew that I wanted to be a game designer. Life went on, and now I've decided to fulfill that childhood dream.

Hey Steve T, I'm very much interested!

Half Empty

Quick Bio of Game:

The game is best enjoyed if you go into it blindly. However, for the sake of discussion, the game is a minimalist, experimental platformer that explores how feelings of self doubt affect the creative process. Namely, when making a game. Each level takes you through a different phase of the development process. The game is metaphorical and needs to be analyzed thoroughly, as it's a constant barrage of environmental storytelling.

How long the Game was in development and if it's still in development, early access, or complete:

It was my first game and was in development for 4 months.  The game is complete. I made the game entirely by myself. I created all of the 3D models, 2D art, textures, music, and sound effects. I also handled all of the programming and writing.

Perfect! A thousand thanks!

Hey there Tomcheshire!

I'm a game developer that makes quick, quirky games!

It's very challenging to gain feedback and attention in general, so I'd like to take you up on your offer and share my games with you. I have ambitions to make grand RPGs, stealth games, and VR titles. However, since I'm currently a 1 man dev team, handling all aspects, including graphics, and audio, I've had to keep my ambitions in check. I've been making short, artsy, experimental, minimalist games. I'd like to share my first two complete games with you and would love to hear your thoughts!

Voia,

Hey there! I'm a game dev and really need to get my games noticed! I've been creating short, artsy, experimental, minimalist platformers. My games always flirt with horror, despite not being overtly horror. You'll see what I mean. I'm interested in both having my games played on camera and also reviewed! :)

Here are my first two games.

Hey there folks! I recently released my two first games here on itch,io and would really like to get some more views/downloads and opinions.

I've been working on making short artsy minimalist, experimental platformers. I am heavily influenced by Dark Souls, and I think it permeates throughout my games, despite the fact that in both games - there is no fighting or death. The mysteries await!

Give my games a shot and let me know your thoughts! They're free!

Both games, I made ENTIRELY by myself.

240 views in 4 days is actually pretty decent. I've yet to hit 200, and it's been over 2 weeks! So good job! Send some of your fans my way! My games are sort of interesting!

Hi folks! My name is Gary Alfonso - also known as Gary The Bard.

I started my artistic journey as a Music Composer, but I'm now tackling my childhood dream of becoming a game developer. I've created and released two completely solo Indie Game Projects. Both are platformers of the artsy kind.

I have aspirations to make RPGs and VR games, but for the time being - I'm focusing on builder smaller, artistic games, until I have the resources and abilities to tackle some of my more ambitious ideas.

Check out my games folks!!

Sincerely,

Gary

Nirwanda,

I'd like to get in touch with you.

Almost two weeks ago, I released my second game on itch.io. Now, I'm releasing my first game on itch.io!

The game is a 2D/3D minimalist platformer that I made entirely by myself! The game is best enjoyed when you go into it blindly. I strongly suggest NOT watching the trailer...

Sincerely,

Hi TheOslaf! Thank you very much for the very kind words! I'm really glad that you enjoyed my works!

Yes, I completed The Cartographer's Tale in 11 days. There were a VERY small amount of assets that I had created for other projects that found their way here, but the  game concept, core gameplay, and the vast majority of the assets were created in 11 days. I think adding a control tutorial is definitely a great suggestion; I had another friend who also didn't know that he had a light ability. I wrestled with the idea of adding that, but I'm a huge fan of Dark Souls - which tends to leave things unexplained and I like giving players an opportunity to learn on their own, as I feel like this may encourage multiple playthroughs.

I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed Half Empty - I've been planning to upload that game to Itch.io. That was my very first full game, and it's very personal to me, so it's really exciting to hear that is resonated with you. I created Half Empty for my Senior Project in school. Although that game is very short too, it took me 4 months to make! It took me 4 months, because I was still wrapping my head around game design/programming/graphics, and I was taking a total of 5 classes, while working full time, and traveling the world for my job. It was a VERY hectic time.

I definitely have plans to make more games like Half Empty, but eventually I want to make some full-length RPGs or VR games. I've got my next couple of games planned out, and a few rough prototypes in production, so hopefully I can dedicate some time to completing another game soon. I really appreciate your comments on my music too!

A thousand thanks for taking the time to play Cartographer's Tale, exploring my other works, and providing your feedback. I'm humbled and flattered by your words. Let's keep in touch and I hope to hear your thoughts on my future games!

Do you have any games that you're working on?

Sincerely,

Gary The Bard

Hi there folks!

I've recently released my second 'complete' game on itch.io! It's a game called The Cartographer's Tale!

The game took my 11 days to make... sort of.. I created all of the 3D models, 2D Art, Textures, Music, and Sound Effects. I also handled all of the programming, writing, and narration. I wanted to challenge myself to make a complete game in a relatively short amount of time. I did this while working a full time job, in a non entertainment related industry.

It's one of those artsy platformers with minimalist storytelling.  The game tasks players with locating cave paintings in a VERY dark cave environment. There is a lighting mechanic though, so use that your advantage! I want to share it with you all and I hope that you get a chance to play the game and enjoy it!
