Hey, sorry for the late reply, just saw the notification :´(

Thank you for playing the game! I'm actively developing it and it's coming up quite nicely, so expect more soon-ish :D

Thanks for the feedback and bug reports, I think I've fixed the ones you mentioned but I'll double (nay, triple) check.

Day 42 is amazing! It probably lagged quite a bit too right? Well, with the newer version it won't (or shouldn't) anymore, so you can look forward to that too ^^

Thank you again for your time!

Did you click on his body? I didn't get enough time to expand his hitbox :'D I'm glad you liked the game, thanks for playing it!

Thank you for the stream and thorough review! I agree with all your points, I'm already planning more fixes and balances :D

Well I didn't fight all the fights so maybe they become more startegic later on but early I felt there was no real strategy to them. I could just unleash all my skills against the monsters and they would die without much hassle. I would suggest giving the combat more of a puzzle approach, maybe using elemental weaknesses or some other thing to pace the encounters. I'm guessing that using range formation depletes all your resources so you want to use it sparingly and that's smart. On the flip side, every time I used that stance it was just about unloading huge amounts of damage, so changing stances didn't feel like a requirement. Another way to do this would be to make swithching between them feel like a dance, a flow. Of course you only had 1 month to do this, and what's there is fine for such a small margin of time, so these "pointers" are  just food for thought for later. I hope they can be of some use, I'm sure you'll find the way to integrate it later on. Best of luck! I'll be sure to check it again.

Loved the art and writing, I couldn't get much out of the combat system, tho I appreciate the effort behind the different battle stances. Sadly I confess I lost interest due to the fights. I will an eye on it for after the jam. Nice work!

As others have commented, atmospehere and presentation are top notch. Sadly, I personally can't say the same for the gameplay. I felt engaged thanks to the visuals and a sense of wonder but gradually felt there wasn't that much to do or interact with. I felt a bit frustrated, specially with the timer. I feel the game would be better without it. I think I understand why it is there, but also feel the game world is interesting enough that forcing me to go fast only detracts from it and diminishes the experience. I feel rushed and that I have to speed run it. I confess i didn't finish it, but I will keep an eye on it or the upcoming future.

It bugged out on me at around 10 minutes so it was hard to decipher the theme but the simple combat was interesting. I'm not sure if it could be engaging enough for the whole experience but at first glance it was fine. Art was great and I laughed with the intro.

Huge fan of Final Profit here. It was a plasure to try your submission. Sadly, I feel the jam's inherent time constrain has been specially tough to a project this ambitious. I feel the core gamplay could be fun with more time to work on it. As it is right now, I coulnd't get into it. In a similar vein, the incremental aspect of the game needs more polish on the pacing side. Losing money is too easy right now and consecuently  tha game feels too punishing and quite frustrating. I know there is a good game under the hood and with more time and polish someone of your skill could turn it around. I can't say I enjoyed it much but I will keep an eye on it for the upcoming future.

Beautiful game and visual experience. As a card game enjoyer picking higher or lower is a bit simplistic but it gets the job done. You've made the gamplay interesting enough so that players get to interact with all the other aspects without getting bored. All in all, great job.

Thank you for the confirmation! I'll add it to the description. Late night jam coding is always a slippery slope hahaha

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it. As for the bug, did you by any chance click the back-to-title button then went right back in? I had a brain fart finishing the game late at night and that breaks the flower spawn for some reason 😅

I agree with @MaximilianX! Felt the same way at the very beginning, but kept playing cause it had a fun part.  Then , after the convini part, it felt it was kind of a different game. I think it might improve the game to choose one of the ideas and focus on it. Thank you for your work, and keep improving it :)!

Hi! I played it and here is my review: I was kind of excited about the whole Old English angle, because I thought it was fun to mix Language related things with videogames, but, when playing, I got to feel that, from  that perspective, the way you've treated that part, it wasn't really engaging enough and it got to be just kind of a translation. Honestly, I feel that only adds difficulty to get into the game and doesn't approach Linguistic perspective to players who are no experts in the field. Thank you for all the huge work, I encourage you to improve upon it and to take into account, if you please, this suggestions for future developing.

Thank you very much for this incredible pack! I bought it and it's so very comforting. Would you consider doing a sea tile with shells and fish and a fishing rod in the future? It would be wonderful! ^-^

Really nice demo! Very funny! Have you played The Yawgh? You have similar vibes, so maybe you could get even more inspired by checking it. Anyway, the only big flaw I found is that Clothes say you can't run around naked, but you totally can, just unequip them! The game lied to me! Jokes aside I really look forward to the full release and wish you all the luck.

Review for The Secret Santa!

I really enjoyed your game! I'm not a non combat game type of guy but this one grabbed me from the very first moment. The best thing about it is the atmosphere coupled with the music, a delightful combo that makes your mind wander off through those desolate lands. The puzzles were simple but creative and nice, more than expected for this kind of game, after all, it's not supposed to be a hardcore puzzling game ;) The dialog was good too, it jumped a bit too far away sometimes(with some assumptions that made me think "how did they know that?") but it occurred extremely rarely.

Now, for the bad part :(

I encountered two game breaking bugs and a visual one. The visual one I don't care and it's extremely unimportant; in case you want to fix it for later(maybe you know of this already) is the first tree you encounter when going south to the station. The issue is you can walk through it.

Now, the game breaking ones. One occurred while chasing the rats away, but I coulnd't replicate it. Maybe it was because of me having the monitor fps sync on, I have no idea. The game just froze when I chased one of them away. The other one happens every time you touch the tile to the most left of the stairs to the left outside the train station. I believe you have a move carácter X tiles to the right placed there, but if you try to Access it from below it can't , as the tile next to it is impassable and the game freezes.

All in all, I had a great experience and time playing your game and I'd love to play it once it's complete :) The Dynamic between the characters is extremely solid, although I must point out that as other reviewers I thought the main carácter didn't speak for a while, maybe you want to make it a bit more obvious that shedoes speak.

Total playtime: It took me about 14 minutes to finish the game and it was very well paced, not a single minute was I bored.

Final verdict: A very solid visual presentation and great puzles make it on eof the most polished games I've played here. You have a nice cocktail for a longer game, one I'd love to see. Careful with the game breaking bugs tho.

4/5 stars ^^
