Thanks for the awesome feedback!

One thing about the barriers, is that they are actually programmed to NOT appear when the jar is mid flight. However, they can spawn 1 or 2 frames before you you throw and since they take a second to fade in it does look like they are spawning mid throw when they shouldn't.

It is still unfair of course lol. But i just thought i should note that. If I were to do this again I'd have the barriers slide into new positions instead of spawning and de-spawning. That way you would be able to see where they are going and wouldn't have to worry about cheap spawns.

Fun idea! I could see this having a more refined presentation and more features if expanded into a larger game :)

Really fun! I love the switching between gameplay styles.

Fun idea! I think the difficulty should scale a bit faster though. Maybe the scales should tip more easily relative to the weight difference. Also I think dumping pieces off the sides to not add excess weight is too powerful.

Perhaps the game should punish you for dumping pieces too frequently? Raising the side barriers could have also made that strategy less viable.

Lastly,  making the pieces slowly fall automatically like in Tetris to give you less time to  figure out where to place blocks could have added additional pressure to make decisions quickly and speed up the game.

Overall, awesome idea and polished execution, just needed a couple things to spice it up difficulty wise :)

thanks!

Thanks!

thanks!

Extremely frustrating but I won after like 8 minutes. Good job!

Probably the most creative flappy bird role reversal in the jam!  My only issue is that the music stopped looping.

Solid take on the theme and good gameplay/presentation. I would have liked maybe one or two more stages though.

This is a good take on the theme, and is executed well enough but I think a few small changes would have really enhanced it! Like for example, you could start with the two rectangles being further apart and have them get narrower as you score points. More sprites for the enemies would have also been nice, even if they all functioned identically a little more variety visually would have been appreciated. Overall, solid entry to the jam. Good job!

Solid game! I think a few changes for visual clarity (like making it more obvious which panels have been selected etc.) would have made it a bit better though. Also, I don't think all of your moves should be erased when you restart a puzzle. Sometimes I'm just one panel off and its kind of annoying to have to place every single one of them again.

This seems like a good foundation for a game. Good job.

Thank you

i think erring on the easy side is better than the alternative though, especially for game jam games since people usually play a ton of submissions you don't want your game too be too tough to get through. So yeah, again great job 👍

Really cool idea! I wish the camera would turn around and face the other paddle after hitting one automatically though.

Nice.

Pretty good. The controls took some time to understand though.

Excellent game! I liked playing as both characters. I wish there was music though.

Solid game! Cute concept, it looks and plays pretty good too. I think it's a tad easy for the first minute or so but that's my only criticism.

I never thought i'd see an arena shooter here. Funny idea and decent gameplay, but the presentation could have been better.

thanks!

Thank you! And thanks for playing!

Excellent game all-round :)

Fun game and good concept, but a little too short.

Really impressive! The concept, gameplay, and visuals were all very good. My only gripe is that I think your ship should have been slightly smaller. (Though I totally get why you decided to make it so big, I definitely felt like a video game boss while playing!)

Great idea and presentation, but I found the game to be a bit too hard.

Very nice! It plays and looks very good. The idea of healing instead of hurting is a cool way to swap roles too but it doesn't really change the gameplay much in this case.

Fantastic job!

Good idea and good execution! I liked being able to select which fruit I want to play as. I also like that the snakes die the same way in this game as they do in regular snake lol.

thank you for playing!!!

Great game!

Good idea. I would have liked to see it get a bit further along in development though.

One of the best uses of the theme I've seen. Nice visuals too! I got stuck pretty early on but still, bravo!

Awesome idea! I really like that the enemies get upgrades instead of the player. I think the difficulty ramps up a bit too fast though. I found the second wave onwards to be too hard to really dodge. I suppose the point is to try to lose as little money as possible since you can't seem to die but I don't think that's as good as just having lives and more reasonable attacks to dodge.

Great idea and execution! I like that you have to lure the cat to the cheese. Baiting the cat only to turn on them and win the level is super fun. My only issue is maybe you should have chose a different font. The one you picked is kinda hard to read especially if you don't have the game on full screen.

Thanks! I was surprised by how much we could do with the few objects that we made as well. If I had time I would have made 20 or more levels instead of 15.

The concept and the presentation is great! The camera was really unwieldy though, if you have multiple monitors your cursor can even get off screen which makes moving even harder. Also the options menu is broken, I suppose you might have run out of time, which is understandable.

Overall great effort! This has a ton of potential.

thanks!
