I actually had so much fun with this, me and my friends played this for hours until 1am. Its like those subway surfers videos they put under tiktoks and i mean that as a compliment
Really cool idea! I wish the camera would turn around and face the other paddle after hitting one automatically though.
I will have it in the next version to upload after the end of the voting period.
That's so fun!! Once you get the hang of it you get into a sort of rhythm, it's quite addicting. The gameplay is fairly simple, but it's just the right amount of challenging. Nicely done!
This is tough, but I really like it. It's really a skill-based game, and it reminds me of bhopping in counter strike or something! Just gotta make sure your mouse sensitivity is a bit high.
Very, very fun game with satisfying movement, but it does have some small things that hold it back.
It has a steep learning curve, but after I started treating the game more like a movement shooter, it clicked. I do think it could be a bit more beginner friendly though. Having a sensitivity slider could be the easiest fix, but I think having two static cameras (front and back) and allowing the ball to only move left and right on one of them could be a more streamlined version of that idea, despite getting rid of the Z axis that makes the movement fun.
Lack of art and sound didn't bother me all that much.
i actually have a sensitivity slider:
just Click ESC then click on the settings button and you will find a sensitivity slider,
chose your settings and Click apply
Ah, I see what was happening. Pressing ESC in fullscreen just exits fullscreen, and if you do it during the game, it only seems to half-work and sometimes I even quit the menu by accident.
i forget about that but i will fix it when the rating end (after 6 days)
Cool Concept! Not having a collider on the net was a good decision in my opinion, even tho visually some would disagree.
As a piece of feedback, I would say the coin placement could be better designed so that some coins don't spell out death. But the rest is very cool.
If you can find the time, would you please check out our game as well?
Our twist of the theme is that a critic tries to play your unfinished game, and you fight from inside the computer to make him like it. Hope you'll like it!
Once you get the hang of it, it is really fun actually! I never would have thought that playing table tennis with yourself could be this fun xD I would love to see that with higher quality visuals turned into a proper release :) I also love that you added coins to pick up. I feel like it would be a good idea (if you have more time and want to continue working on this game) to make the start of the game easier by slowing down the rackets and gradually speeding them up. Good luck in the jam!
Thanks I really appreciate that
Thanks to the game makers toolkit team for these crazy annual game jams,
It's been a really fun journey trying to figure out a game that fits this theme
and apply it before the deadline.
